I am Brazilian by birth but I grew up in the US. I have never been to Rio but I would love to go one day. I have to confess that I was always scared to travel over there, but after watching this video you guys gave me a bit of encouragement.
Im from rio, you should defnetly to come here. Rio is safer then most of Brazil when taken in the size of the population, it’s lower then many major American cities. If you still worried, try coming to Niteroi, about 20 minutes from Rio on the other side of the bay. Niterói is super-safer one of the best cities to live out of all of South America, and has been top 1 in Brazil multiple years, and still on top ten. Plus, Niteroi has the better beaches and the “best view of Rio” who is certainly a mocking point you’ll hear from taxi-drivers. Niterói also has a lot of English speaker due to the University. Trust me, you’ll not regret Rio.
I’m South African living in Cape Town….my first time to Rio was back in 2016 where my trip was never even a thought nor was it the plan…I decided at a minutes notice and a week later I was travelling solo in Brazil for 5 weeks as a birthday gift to myself. Spent 3 weeks in Rio staying in the Apoador Hotel (highly recommend) long story short, I’ve been back many times to Rio and even lived there for a year back in 2018. I’ve been back a few times and shall continue to go back as many times as I can in this lifetime. Rio is awesome in every way. Yes there’s an element of danger but coming from Cape Town I guess I find it very similar and nothing out of the ordinary. Besides, a little danger makes it that much more exciting 🔥🔥🔥
Agree. I've been going to Rio for over twenty years without any issues. The edginess seems to just enhance people's resolve to enjoy their lives in the city.
Thank you for sharing this video about Rio. I am from Brazil 🇧🇷 and I have to say Rio is my favourite city in Brazil. I am from the city called Foz do Iguaçu famous for the water falls. You guys have to visit one day, so worth it. Enjoy exploring Brazil 🇧🇷

Hello beautiful couple! I am a Brazilian born in Rio who now lives in France. You don't know how happy I am with your video. Rio de Janeiro is the most incredible city in the world. Just having an Urban Forest exceeds all expectations. The Tijuca Forest. Rio is sun, sea, mountains and forest. Brazil has the most welcoming people in the world. We are an open and genuinely happy people. Thank you for being a spokesperson 🗣️ to say, it's not like they say, there isn't all this violence. Come and be happy! That simple! Thank you for the beautiful video!

I'm from São Paulo City born and raised in West Side São Paulo (Vila Madalena, Paulista, Pinheiros where did u guys stayed) and for a paulistano to say what I'm saying in kind of blasphemy but... I have travelled Brazil a lot! Rio de Janeiro is one of the most amazing places I've ever seen! Morro do Vidigal and São Conrado down southwest from Leblon Beach. The view from there got me stoked forever! Increble!

Hi, guys. Really love your videos. I'm from Salvador and you showed how beautiful my hometown is. FYI, what you showed as acarajé at the restaurante Aprazível is NOT "acarajé". It's a shame you fidn't try it here in Salvador. ❤❤❤
As a Brazilian this video warmed my heart ❤ idk if you guys did this or not, but make sure to eat biscoito globo and drink ice tea with lemonade at the beach! As well as corn and cheese that they sell at the beach 🤭 it’s definitely the best beach experience ever!
Regarding the tiles, tourists from around the world used to send the tiles from their cities/countries to Selaron so he could include them in the stairs.
Loveeed the video, thank you for visiting our country! I just would like to say that what you tried at Aprazível is not acarajé, that looks like "bolinho de aipim", a manioc deep fried food filled with meat. Acarajé is made with a deep fried bean dough, you cut it open and put vatapá and dried shrimp inside.
We are happy that you enjoyed the vlog ❤️❤️ and we can’t wait for you and your boyfriend to get to experience it as well!! You will absolutely love it 🥰

Hello dear friends Juan Marcel & Rhylan, how are you? Beauty! I have been following some videos of the couple on adventures throughout Brazil, I have watched their adventures in the cities of the Northeast (Salvador), the Southeast (São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Belo Horizonte), the South (Florianópolis and Balneário Camboriú, Curitiba), but, you need to visit Gramado, Canelas in Rio Grande do Sul, very beautiful German cities. Until October 25th, the biggest Oktoberfest outside of Germany takes place in Blumenau, 24 hours of consecutive chops, shows and a Germanic party. You need to learn a little Portuguese to facilitate the exchange of ideas, you need to make Brazilian friends, you will love making friends with good people. I have many American friends living in Boston, Utah, NY, San Francisco, Orlando, Miami, etc., and most of them travel to Brazil for vacation. I'm rooting for you.
It's been so nice to see you guys enjoying our beautiful country!! I wish I could have bumped into you here haha But I'm so glad that you could see Brazil as it is, outside of the bad reputation that we might have around the world So much love 🥰🥰
Hi, I just came across your channel making plans for my own trip to Brazil later this year. As a travel vlogger myself many videos I’ve watched speak on the issues of safety. How did you 2 feel having your cameras out in public? Also your overall safety experience in each location?
Omg I just moved in from a non touristic place in Rio and when you went to get açai I went crazy!!! So weird to see a street where I pass by everyday on a famous youtube channel! The amount of foreigners here is crazy! ( everyone is so taller than 5'9 I feel so short lmao😭). So good to see people from all over the place. Always wanted to see how it is to come to Rio for the first time, since I live here and this video was perfect! Great video! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 PS- you should definetly ride a bike in Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas and fly a Hang-Glider if you're up to!!! Its a once in a life experience and the view is amazing!!
You should have tried Fogo de Chão near Sugar Loaf instead of Palace. Don't get me wrong. Palace is nice and cheaper, but Fogo de Chão is a sublime experience.
Rio is trash. You can't just walk around the city because you will get robed. I've been there once I never going back. Rio is lawless, shooting and robery during daylight, it's just out of this world. If you wanna go to Brazil try Sao Paulo or South of Brasil or The Amazon. North Brazil is good, besides Bahia, which is another lawless estate
You guys would love Armação dos Búzios, is in rio, I recommend you take the boat cruise to the islands, eat sea food on the beach and swim off the boat its truly amazing as well!!!
Thank you for talking about my Country in such amazing way❤ Ps: The real açaí comes from the north( I’m from the north lol) açaí in Rio is not the real one unless you go to Arataca restaurant in copacabana, tgen you will try the real açaí😊
I have to warn the people who wants go or is coming to Rio to be very careful in Copacabana, robberies has have increased in last month (november/december 2023) and thieves has been have violent to the victims. Anyway, you can come to Rio without big worries or withhout being paranoid, just avoiding stay much long in Copacabana, at least while roberies still being out of control.
I had acai in paraguay and they put powdered milk and sweetened condensed milk on toop with fruit and nuts depending on where you went. It was more flavorful than in america. I find that the people giving warnings about safety in different countries havent traveled there and maybe havent even left their home country. I learned that when fundraising for my missions trip to paraguay. To be honest those close to me I said "I am going."
You will love Rio de Janeiro until you LIVE in the city. It's so contorversial for us, specially, one of the best cities in the country but as well one of the most dangeous and dirty.
which month did you visit? January and February are apparently very wet and hot so I'm think about a drier sunnier cooler period. The weather looks amazing at the time of your visit.

Feliz que tenham gostado do meu país, recomendo conhecer outras regiões também!
My city! Makes me so happy to see people respecting and appreciating my culture, my music, my food. It’s not a perfect city, but it’s so special. Thank you guys for being so respective and awesome.
O melhor do Brasil é o seu povo
We completely agree 🥰
O rio é lindo o Brasil é absolutamente maravilhoso!
One of the most beautiful cities & countries that we have ever visited 😍
Rio de Janeiro é realmente mágico! Voltem sempre, ele sempre continuará lindo.
Its so visible yours hapiness for being in Brasil! Amazing video!
We are sooooo happy & grateful to be here in this incredible country 😍 glad that you can feel it through the screen 🤍
Im visiting Rio de Janeiro next year and I am soooo excited about this adventure by just looking at your videos. Your are such a beautiful couple. God bless you and Thank you very much for sharing. 😊
Bem vindos ao Brasil, sejam felizes e divirta-se muito❤
for goodness sake put on some sunblock and never go to the beach between 10am and 5pm.
I'm from São Paulo and I will be in Rio the day after tomorrow! Can't wait to see it.
We hope that you have a lovely trip ❤️❤️
@@juanmarcelandrhylan, thanks. In fact, it's been really cool. Today I went to Christ the Redeemer 🗿. It's a beautiful city. Good video too.
Beautiful and interesting vlog, i was there 2022 Nov, i love Rio, had a great time, great night life and amazing sceneris ❤❤❤
Increble!
It's the end of winter and Rio de Janeiro is one of the hottest places in Brazil, you can feel the strong cold from São Paulo down
Show, Muito bom vcs terem gostado do Rio de janeiro, cidade maravilhosa.
Voltem sempre!❤
You should go the historical cities in Minas Geraes. Ouro Preto and Tiradentes are amazing.
Mas o Rio tem até mais história que Minas, ainda mais a cidade!
You guys are very nice😄! Welcome to Brazil !
Come to Kazakhstan 🇰🇿 we’ll be happy to see u🥰🩷
Hi 👋 I am Hussein Siad Barre 2:22 I have brought Russians with me🥰
Feliz por vcs virem e se admirar com que temos de bonito aqui, não só o Rio de Janeiro como os demais estados. Curtam o Rio, curtam o Brasil
Me and my wife will be out there for carnival
thanks for your kind words about Rio
Been waiting patiently for this vlog!! Rio looks amazing, I’m so jealous 🥲 Hope my boyfriend and I get to visit one day
We are happy that you enjoyed the vlog ❤️❤️ and we can’t wait for you and your boyfriend to get to experience it as well!! You will absolutely love it 🥰
Me, brazilian, showing this to my turkish girlfriend how it's going to be when we go there in June :D Great video guys! Super happy you liked it !
Amazing vídeo!!! Rio is Beautiful
Thank you so much ❤️❤️
THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO. THIS IS MY LIFESTYLE
Apesar de tudo, o Rio de Janeiro continua uma cidade cheia de beleza e charme. Espero que tenham se divertido bastante no Brasil. Voltem sempre, simpático casal!
This song in the video is so beautiful. My favorite Brazilian rhythm "Bossa Nova"
It has everything to do with Rio de Janeiro, a wonderful city.
Bossa Nova is some of the prettiest music in the entire world 😍
I’m going there in a few months, this video just made me emotional, I’m glad you guys enjoyed it, loved the video 💚
O Rio de Janeiro é um lugar incrível ❤
There is no place like Rio!!! Glad y'all enjoyed it!
Hello there, l am from Brazil 🇧🇷 living in London, uk. ahh homesick right now. I love your videos. What a beautiful couple! ❤
Thank you so much ❤️ we are happy that we could bring you back to your home for a bit 🥰
The best “Açaí” is from Pará State, North of Brazil.
Oooh nice, we will have to try it some time 😍
ch in portuguese sounds like sh kah-sha-ssa.
The ñ in spanish is nh in portuguese: picanha... and it's "gn" in italian, like lasagna
Ah, understood, thank you for letting us know 🤍
Só o país mais bonito do mundo
Such a beautiful video😍😍😍
Se quer provar açaí original devem viajar para Belém no Pará
I wish I could have bumped into you here haha
But I'm so glad that you could see Brazil as it is, outside of the bad reputation that we might have around the world
So much love
🥰🥰
Everything is perfectly: you guys, the edit, the music, the city and the channel ❤
We do have some security problems. But we also have amazing people and amazing things on city
Very nice, muito simpático o casal 👏👏👏
PS- you should definetly ride a bike in Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas and fly a Hang-Glider if you're up to!!! Its a once in a life experience and the view is amazing!!
Nice!! Well done guys!! Argentina and Brasil are amazing places to visit! Rio de Janeiro is in another level! Is safe in a tourist área! Cheers🎉
Thank you for talking about my Country in such amazing way❤
Ps: The real açaí comes from the north( I’m from the north lol) açaí in Rio is not the real one unless you go to Arataca restaurant in copacabana, tgen you will try the real açaí😊
BIG WARNING the most smelling pee city in the world
Show all the trash In the ocean and sand, along with vendors asking you to buy something every 10-20 seconds. I was just in Rio for several weeks.
Did you guys visit in August or September? Looks like such good weather, I’m trying to figure when to go 😭
I had acai in paraguay and they put powdered milk and sweetened condensed milk on toop with fruit and nuts depending on where you went.
