Good morning Sir, that is great souvenir about the CB Radio when I use to install them ! Here in Canada we were locked at 4 watts and upper and lower band a little higher,,, Great looking CB Radio Sir 👍😊 Great power supply too 👍😊 Too Bad The CB it is pretty dead on the ( Air Waves ) here... The protesters are right… that pot adjusts the output voltage, not amperage…
Your voltage wasn't 13.8 -- it was 13.08 dc.

There is so much misinformation in this vide it's unreal. The pot is a voltage adjustment. It will adjust up to 15V DC. You can safely run those radios, ANY mobile radios, at 14.6v to 14.8v DC. THAT is what your cars run for an electrical system. Next, the Antron is nearly the worst antenna on the market. It's even less efficient than a wire dipole. In fact, the Antron has a negative .3 DBd gain. Yes, that's a .3DBd LOSS. Next, if you're going to want a solid, STABLE SSB rig with ZERO frequency drift, go with Stryker or Anytone. All the big radios such as Ranger, Galaxy, Uniden, etc. will drift all over the place with temperature changes. People will be chasing you all over to keep you locked in. Stryker and Anytone are rock solid. If necessary, use a separate amp.

I run as base station Stryker 497 955 I run RCI 2990 with 4pill my general HP40 Galaxy 959 Cobra 29 with 2pill on antron 99 and I talk all over country and Canada Guatemala Spain mr610 so I don't know how 99 trash lol
