- Establishing Signal direction and correcting. * In this video I made the measurement with the door open. You should close all the door's before you make your measurement for a true reading. Thanks to the keen observers that brought that to my attention. I edited in the wrong clip. My bad.
Antennas in phase will give you the side to side signal lobe. Out of phase will give fore and aft signal lobes, depending upon which antenna has the longer additional coax feed line.

CLOSE THE DOOR. FOR A TRUE READING.
Good point.
The door will definitely change how you are getting the readings
That issue was addressed in the description.
Very nice video bud!!! GK
4-10 Thanks !!
Checking out your Mobile setup. I used to have a van, and had one hot(front) one grounded(back) and it really did well. (only good to the front LOL) Thanks for the video. 21 S.C. Old Radio Night
yeah, man. I'm hoping to have it together enough to compete this spring. Also I am planning on crusing down to those Break's in your neck of the wood's next year. Meet some of these Southern boy's I hear on the radio.
Idk, I think I got banned from old Radio night... Past few weeks it's been dead on Sat eve. No conditions

@@DarkStarRF 10-4, I hope to go to the one in Rock Hill in October again, to meet 766 out of Cali.
Right please can you let me know how to hook up two aerials at once to one rig , that's what is confusing me.get the rest but not too antennas to one rig.thanks again for all your shows ALAN FROM ENGLAND 💯🤔👍
The rear antenna is basically an extension of the body of the vehicle or ground. Only the antenna in the center of the vehicle is hot. The rear antenna acts as a reflector.
Very interesting. I would say you have a reflector on the backside of the car. It should be roughly 5 percent greater then the director. Then you need to have a certain distance between the two. As far as i can see you have both conditions met. Most radiation should go forwards.
Indeed it does after careful adjustment to the Reflector.
Thanks
Thanks for the video, was your cb powered up?
Yes, but only 4 watts.
Great info. Did the same on my set up not too long ago, but I'm only running a Wilson 5000. I used to have a a Solarcon antenna years ago. Where did you you purchase the heat from. It looks like a unit I saw on Copper Electronics website
Craigs list. Used Equipment can be a gamble especially amps.
those antenna`s are not 1/2 or 1/4 wave right? I always thought it was only possible with half and quarter wave antennas. How do you do that?
Google "Monkey Made cb antenna" for information on the antennas. The reflector or rear antenna is just an extension of the body of the vehicle or ground.
What antennas are you running? They look to be Predator 10k is that correct? Which shaft length? Great to see these suburbans are still being built. I hope to build one soon as well. Maybe a 10 pill box with a two pill driver nothing too crazy. Gotta keep on saving not a cheap hobby unfortunately as we both know haha!
4-10 monkey made. I'm still putting it together. Lots of fun, for sure!
I was thinking the driver door being open might be why signal was stronger . Love that suburban or whatever it is . Very clean. Is this just an example video with a dead radio , and your real radio and setup is kept private for obvious reasons ?
The measurements I made in the video were an example of how to do the measurements. You are correct, I should have had he door closed for the measurement. What is not shown is that fact that I had to repeat that process many times to achieve forward signal strength.

Yeah ,, I can imagine,, it’s hard enough setting SWR’s on a custom type single antenna, let alone adding a
reflector/director ,, etc . 73’s to you up in the northeast corner
347 in Tennessee 👋🏻
Wow....Just wanted to ask about that radio you turn on at the beginning of the video...Is it a Miage 6600?
Galaxy 88
When you said competition CB set up I thought you had a big set up you got a little 50 watt amp😂
He’s got his big brother Woodchuck got his back….
Did you ground bond your truck real real good ? That makes a huuuge difference
What is the correct spacing between the antennas when using the back door one hot one not antenna system asking for a friend🤔🤫
I'm going into that in the next video.
Good to hear that trust me my friend I'm not just trolling you you really make some great videos I really enjoyed it
Thank you.
Shut the door bro
