..just found this gem. Whilst a little late Derek I believe CP stands for 'Corgi Proforma' so CP12 at 21m50s is Corgi Proforma 12. CORGI (Confederation for the Registration of Gas Installers) established in 1970 following 1968 Ronan Point gas explosion operated a voluntary registration for gas Installers. Following GSIUR1998 and under an agreement with the HSE CORGI by then (Council for Registered Gas Installers) operated the Registration scheme that was a legal requirement to undertake work within the scope of those Regulations.. during reviews it was felt that more could be achieved and after 17 years with CORGI the Gas Safe Register was in place from 01 April 2009 and operates under contract and licence by Capita Gas Registration and Ancillary Services Ltd (CGARS); the initial ten year term with six month transition ended 31 Mar 2019.. CGARS secured a further 5 years following the Tender for the concession.. currently this should run to 31 Mar 2024. Whilst CORGI lost the rights to the initial Register they appear active in part and some of their CPs live on!
Great video Derek. Would you consider doing a video on single and multipoint water heaters in the future as I don’t think you have one and would be great for trainees just like your other videos.
So grateful you made this video. I found it really informative both part 1 and 2. It was nice that you showed us how to complete a landlord report certificate from start to finish. When you gas rated the cooker and got a figure of 11.68kW, did you gas rate the rings, the grill, the oven and then you added them together and got a total of 11.68kW? Thanks Derek 👍🏻 Asian Jon. Training.
Great Video Derek cheers ...just wondering why do we gas rate boilers on hot water and not put the boiler in maximum service test mode then gas rate?.... cheers pal.
That's a tricky one, sometimes when I try a 2 minute max test the boiler shuts down after 30 seconds it gets too hot but when I open the hot tap it stays on but in theory I believe it can modulate down
Great video pal👍 thought the initial and final readings when doing your fga where for if you had to clean heat ex or adjust gas valve. Top content though pal.
If landlord didn't have previous documentation how would we check the date ? Can still be writing new one ? In this video last 5 min please can you explain it?
Hi Derek on the certificate when undertaking the work a month in advance would you put the date tested and on the newer certificates the renewal date a month ahead, so 2 different dates ?
@@tomkatgastraining I'm not trying to be awkward because I enjoy all your videos you do an excellent job but the point I'm trying to make is under certain scenarios if the flue became faulty and the boiler started to produce a high level of CO you wouldn't want produces of combustion finding its way into living space through a blocked or dry condensate trap, only saying
@@michaeltrimmer8899 condensate trap is part of a service not a landlords report. During a landlords we follow the checks of regulation 26(9) and during a service we follow MIs. Nowhere in 26(9) dose it say clean the condensate trap.
@@tomkatgastraining with all due respect you marked on the certificate that you serviced the boiler for warranty purposes and also you cleaned out the magnetic filter which is a service item and not a gas safety item so on that basis you should have cleaned out the condensate trap and shown it on the otherwise excellent video

Gas rating a cooker would be 3 largest burner! I think you have added everything including the oven rate. Is this compulsory? Because normally i do the 3 largest burner
@@1000Mikey no because the 3 biggest rings is just for working pressure at the meter to get the correct gas rate you will need to gas rate then check MIs to see if they are correct
The regulation came into force in 2008 so if the cooker was installed before 2008 it’s fine if it’s installed today it will require fsd’s if you have no clue when it was installed it’s still ncs but must advise that it is changed. Hope that helps
Many thanks for part two still learning every time I watch the videos

Excellent video Derek, very useful information for doing landlord reports. Well presented and easy to follow.. 👍👍😀
Superb video, well explained. I learned a lot. Thanks Derek👍
Very informative video. Excellent job Derek. Thank you so much. 😀👍
Ha I remember helping to fit this for my portfolio😂 , brilliant videos Derek keep em coming👍
Hi Derek, Great videos as usual.
Just a quick question about the cooker front, it was just dirty or there where also signs of spillage?
Thanks
Superb Derek .
Brilliant Derek.. thanks for your efforts
Thanks Derek great video 👍👍👍🙏

Nick Adams will do

Great video, only a small comment, it would be great if you mentioned the allowable parameters of CO for example
Another great video thanks 👍
Excellent video sir
Thank you very much
Well if didn’t need to service the cooker then people with boiler only qualification can do CP12?
Do flue clamps not need securing screws? Or were they on backside of clamp
Neil Ridley not needed on Ariston flues they are holes to check you have gone full socket.
Cheers Derek, were 99% vailiant here so wasn’t sure
Wouldn’t you have to carry out a FGA on gas cooker? Just asking as when I did my ACS I was told/shown to FGA a cooker
I'm doing my gas training at the moment. I was also shown that a FGA needs to be done on that cooker.
I Derek, lovely video thanks again. When you gas rated the cooker was it a net or gross figure as cooker and hobs don't say on the badge? Thanks
You will always gas rate in gross that’s why we need to divide by 1.11 for the net figure 👍🏻
So would I put the net figure on the landlord gas safety record? Thanks !
@@richarddavis968 yes you would. Any appliance made before 2000 would have the data badge in gross after 2000 should be net
Nice Video, will do blank lines from now on.
On the boiler flue, the clamp, was not screwed. Any comments?
Not every boiler requires the flue clamp screwing
Thumbs up! 👍🏻
What you do if the boiler gas rate was wrong according to MI’S
Tommy Blackman investigate why it’s wrong and then make your decision on your findings
Tomkat Gas Training ok thanks 🙏🏻
Hi Derek
Did the manual on the cooker not specify clearances especially to the left of the cooker?
It was a brick wall with tile so it’s none combustible
If landlord didn't have previous documentation how would we check the date ? Can still be writing new one ?
In this video last 5 min please can you explain it?
Hi Derek on the certificate when undertaking the work a month in advance would you put the date tested and on the newer certificates the renewal date a month ahead, so 2 different dates ?
You don’t loose the date so 2 dates
Just being picky, on the service aspect in the video I didn't see the on board condense trap cleaned out😢
Because the video was about a londlords gas safety check
