Hi Derek, I started doing my domestic gas at the start of this month and your videos are really helping me consolidate what I'm learning. Really good explanations and detail, keep up the good work, you're helping lots of people out there.
I notice you analysed the boiler with the boiler cover on which on final commissioning is correct, Many Engineers analyse with the cover off forgetting that the boiler is drawing in air from the room and not through the flue which is crucial to safe operation of the boiler back in the day as you know ff boilers rarely operated with the cover off so by alll means carry our analysing the boiler with the cover off while commissioning and making adjustments but all ways carry out final analysing with the boiler cover correctly fitted to ensure correct operation of the flue.
Nice explanations! First time I’ve seen someone actually flue gas analyse and explain the importance of doing so for other appliances too. Not just for combi boilers. Sweep test always seemed awkward for me but now having watching this video it has really helped. Thanks Derek 👍🏻. Asian Jon. Training.
Hotly would you test a top oven/ grill combi grill side ? In the same way you do the ovens or is there a another way to use the 7 hole probe to do it ?
Hi Derek. You are high level teacher and your way to teach is great. You speak so calm and friendly. We all appreciate this. Your videos helped me to improve my knowledge and understanding for my initial ACS. But on my ACS(which I still need to complete) they asked me to gas analyze the cooker hobs and they insist to go and do it. I needed to fill in the readings in the paper too. What will you advice me in this case. I light up the four hobs and hold the analyzer about 30 cm over but I wasn't sure if I do the things correct. Thank you so much! Appreciate all your hard work to teach us!!!
You don’t analyser the hobs on a cooker just the oven and grill separately. Not sure why they have asked you to do this as it’s not required unless you are carrying out a room test.
How long would the exhaust sample point have to be open to give higher CO readings in the room. Ie 50pp? Does how long this can be left open vary from boiler to boiler? It appeared that you left the exhaust sample point open while you were testing the air intake side, would this not raise levels of CO in the room? Anyway, great video!
Morning Derek following your pipe bending tutorials do you think you can do some videos about pipe sizing as well It will be lovely to see how to measure correctly if it’s possible. Thank you very much and please stay safe!!!
Hi Derek, I see you have shown how to test an inset gas fire, where you need the extension on the probe. What I would like to know is, are you able to demonstrate how to analyse a High Efficiency (HE) Inset Gas Fire, which come with a sealed glass front? (PS Great videos. Very helpful and informative) Stay safe
@tomkatgastraining so if someone had drilled a hole in the flue and it was only AR would it still be riddor because it had been done by a engineer that should know better 🤔 sorry not long started learning
Hi Derek Do you have the facility to demo commercial kitchen appliances eg COMCAT1,3 and 5 and carry out a proper CP42 test? I teach this within my company but each engineer has their own way ....I teach using DW172 and IGEM/UP/19 standards.
Such an educational, 53CO 0.0006 ratio. is that normal on high setting, I thought CO should be below 30ppm . ratio 0.0004 or under?? .. Still training ...😊... you are a 5 💫💫💫💫💫
You mentioned caravans several times in the video which spiked my interest as this is my trade, would be very interested in seeing these tests done on an a modern oven in a touring caravan or motorhome 🚐
Can you please change the background music in your videos, or better still, just have none. It’s pretty much the one and only thing that drives me demented with your videos. Other than that, keep them coming!
Okay , I’m regards to the flueless fire. I came across a flueless fire with 2 catalytic converters. 1 on each side. How would I test when there is one on each side?
Love these great for brushing up and refreshing the old memory at 30 🤣

😁
My analyser doesnt have a sweep test mode .

Hi chap, love the videos, really really helpful, keep them coming 👍👍👍 and thankyou for uploading them👍

Asian Jon. Training.
Really thorough and informative. Thanks, Derek!
Brilliant video as always. Thanks for the amount of depth that you went into, gained a great amount of knowledge from that.
Great video really helpful for my ACS
Thanks Derek
Great video. Can I ask where the flue integrity readings you quoted are found as in what documents please as I’m struggling. Thanks in advance.
Great video, very informative. Thanks Derek 👍👍👍

Quality mate really useful video as are all your videos .. absolute star 🌟

One more great video thank you Derek.

On the way soon
Thanks Derek great video👍👍👍👍. Benny
Excellent video love it.
Is dynamic pressure same as inlet pressure or working pressure in the boiler?
Thank you Derek
Benchmark seams to have changed max pressure to dynamic pressure so I guess so 👍🏻
@@tomkatgastraining many thanks 👍

Is it a balanced flue or fan flue or flueless fire
One day please discuss about the electrical system of Bosch Gas Range Thank you.
Missing been down the center. Hopefully there soon!
Great one again, are you going to make video about flue/chimney?
Sanjit grg in the to do box mate 👍🏻

Procombi Exclusive 24 there is no chance to adjust the minimum or high settings. Any advice on that?
Brilliant video!
If there's no MIs like the older boilers then what do you refer too
Please do more back boiler videos

Sorry mate we don’t have commercial kitchen at tomkat 😢
Informative

👍👍👍 great video!
Great information
Great video
Hi
What do they mean by initial and final combustion?
Thanks
Brilliant video , thanks very much for the in depth recap.
I don’t like my Kane anymore after seeing yours 😂
Great info 👏👏👍

For boilers your co could be up to 350 ppm and co2 of up to 10 .2 and a ratio of less than 0.004 depending on the boiler.
Thanks great video's 👍👍
Does any one know the ratio of the open flued back boiler as in what it is and where i can find it?
You are the best
Watched Aaron trainee 😁👍👍
Do same video but on a Worcester green star please.
It’s on the to do list 👍🏻
Very good 👍
You mentioned caravans several times in the video which spiked my interest as this is my trade, would be very interested in seeing these tests done on an a modern oven in a touring caravan or motorhome 🚐
Sweep test with cover on ? Or cover off?
Sweep test is testing the covers seals so the cover has to be on
Anyone know the best place to put a flue gas analyser probe on an openflue boiler?
Watch my other videos on analysing and you will find out 😜
Can you please change the background music in your videos, or better still, just have none.
It’s pretty much the one and only thing that drives me demented with your videos.
Other than that, keep them coming!
Not had music in my videos now for over a year 👍🏻
@@tomkatgastraining
Yeh ok cool. The video I commented on was a year old now I look back though. The xylophone music was pretty awful though! Lol
brillant
I love u so much
👍👍
👍🏾
Isn’t oxygen 20.9?
In the atmosphere yes but on flue integrity we are looking for readings higher than 20.6 o2 and less than 0.2 co2 to prove the flue is ok
Okay , I’m regards to the flueless fire. I came across a flueless fire with 2 catalytic converters. 1 on each side. How would I test when there is one on each side?

death trap .
no-one in their right mind would bother analyse a LFE fire. Pointless.
