I was running this saw for about 2 hours at about a 30-50% duty cycle ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxfQm1wmg0ItKDLavxj1nXtQY9HP7EF504 and it did a great job. It always amazes me that *globally* woods/forests everywhere are replete with such a *steady collection* of so many *different items* e.g. cars, tractors, motorcycles, guns, swords/knives, chainsaws, lawnmowers, hand tools of all kinds; even air compressors, generators, and a go cart or two; and ALL free for the taking! Have you noticed how kind the trees in the woods/forests are? They not only provide the leaves we see on top of each item for protection, but also the leaves *underneath* many of the items to be restored as well; you know *even though they've been sitting there for years/years.*
Chainsaws are mostly made of magnesium, aluminium, plastic and sometimes chinesium, none of which rust very much! Brown poster paint and puddle water are fairly easy to remove, the black stuff looks a bit more believable though! Piston is badly scored too, so I wouldn't expect a lot of compression. Interesting video though!
I have never seen a saw that looked that bad , come apart so easy. I don’t know about in this case but often it’s much more expensive to do a restoration than buy new. Even more so when you consider some of the tools some of the top guys have, like lathes and powder paint ovens. It’s about the challenge of getting things as close to perfect as you can and improving one's own skills. People like my mechanics don't sell what they’ve restored, they'll either use the restored tool or keep them on display. There again, if you make your living off UA-cam it’s a totally different story. Then spending £100 on restoring a £3 oil can can become very profitable.

What type of chainsaw runs on water? Figure that out and you have the answer. Portability gets to be an issue. A chainsaw needs to run upside down. BTW: a blown one.
Stash a perfectly good, dirty old chainsaw in the hedge. Walk out to get it, followed by a cameraman. Do a simple teardown and cleaning. Bask in the adulation of rubes.
You can tell that they just sprayed it with rust promoter. When he shows the chain cleaning, the part that was under the shroud is brand new. If this saw was sitting out in the weather, the entire chain would be rusted.
If it ran before it won't run long. The bearings are not to be greased. They are open to the inside with seals on the outside. Inside lubrication is provided by the 2 cycle oil that he didn't put in the gas. The run time on the video is all he had to provide before the cylinder walls and rings were shot.

Most of these restorations where the item is covered in rust are fake anyway.
AweSome video !!! 😜 I loved watching 😁
What about the piston rings .you always replace them
When you walk in the forest - is someone always following you and filming?))))))
What kind of chainsaw runs on straight gasoline?
What type of chainsaw runs on water? Figure that out and you have the answer. Portability gets to be an issue. A chainsaw needs to run upside down. BTW: a blown one.
none
NICE DESIGN
Stash a perfectly good, dirty old chainsaw in the hedge. Walk out to get it, followed by a cameraman. Do a simple teardown and cleaning. Bask in the adulation of rubes.
The chainsaw isn't even that old , its just a cheap china job from ebay that they covered in crap for a couple of weeks lmao
You can tell that they just sprayed it with rust promoter. When he shows the chain cleaning, the part that was under the shroud is brand new. If this saw was sitting out in the weather, the entire chain would be rusted.
That was my thought.
Definitely worth the time
Amazing job!! Loved the intro as well
How do you know where to put everything single piece back together, it's mind blowing. Great job 😀😀
I guess he’s done it before🤷♂️

Wire Brushes do Amazing things..🧐
Yeah I always go walking on trails looking for rusted chainsaws they are everywhere
Very. Very. Cool 😎. Nice 👍. Work. Love. It. Do. Not. Stop. Lee
You installed that same cracked piston. Didn't even clean the carburetor. Lack of experience is clearly visible.
I agree, they even used the old bearings... Man that hurts so much😢
Probably because for a new piston it's s lot of fucking money for a fake restoration
He just wanted to make it look pretty. Junk saw even when new. Not worth the time to restore it. He's just doing this for UA-cam clicks.
Just Me yeah he needs to get chainsaws abandoned in a scrap yard or some shit you know not destroy a piece of shit and restore it for views
If it ran before it won't run long. The bearings are not to be greased. They are open to the inside with seals on the outside. Inside lubrication is provided by the 2 cycle oil that he didn't put in the gas. The run time on the video is all he had to provide before the cylinder walls and rings were shot.
