This was a great reminder of all the fun stuff waiting at general and of some of the other privileges I'm currently not using but could/should be. Thank you
Its interesting how different countries and regions regulate ham radio privileges. Here in the UK I have a foundation licence which is the first of three licences we have. I can use pretty much all of the HF, VHF and UHF bands in all modes but we are restricted to being QRP or 10w pep max power. Next year it may be upped to 20w hopefully.
When I got my tech I mainly wanted to play with HF and CW mainly. I just wished i started with GMRS cause i love chewing the rag as well. I may still get my GMRS license as well. I can see myself playing with cw and still getting gen and extra and using other phone bands with CB and GMRS when im not battery operated outdoors. Great video 73, kq4hcu
not really worth getting a Radio or license. not being able to do anything. 0ne of those situations where people think they are better than you with a higher class License.
The purpose of license classes is not for people to think they are better than those with a lower class license. The purpose of license classes is both to introduce new operating privileges into bands where interference must be minimized with services with primary users of the bands present and encourage license class upgrades by giving more privileges on more bands or portions of the bands, and in turn as you study for a license upgrade, there is more material that is useful for making operators seeking to upgrade their license a better and more knowledgeable operator. With more privileges, comes more responsibility while you operate on the bands. Hopefully this answer explains the reasoning behind license classes. Thanks for watching!

appreciate this being broken down slowly & thoroughly
Very good video. The background music is a little loud and distracts from your voice.
To me CW would be my thing, less equipment needed then ft-8.
