    I'm looking into getting the LPR cameras, but they aren't cheap any advice on when to get them and also i know you said the price depends on the bank that wants the car but in reality, what do you at least average on each car just trying to know before dropping $15,000 on some cameras

    • @MNDashcam
      @MNDashcam  2 роки тому +1

      You don't have to drop $15k on cameras. You can do payments. And 250-300 a car is about average. Depends on your area and the going rate for contracts.

      @@MNDashcam okay so next question is what's the amount of money you think you should have before getting into the LPR cameras, is it something you should start right away when you start your business or is it something you should wait on? also the providers you have to sign up with to get hits for the LPR cameras through DRN what do they usually request that you need to have such as coverage, storage lots, monthly fee's etc.. sorry for asking so many questions it's because I don't know anyone personally that has them and I just wanted to know as much information as possible before getting them

    • @MNDashcam
      @MNDashcam  2 роки тому

      As a general rule you want to have at least 6-12 months of operating costs on hand at all times especially for a new business. You can search them out manually but you are a lot more efficient when you have an extra set of eyes looking for things you don't even know to look for. The contracts send the info into the database and the people at DRN update the list multiple times daily with new cars. If you live in a metro area with a high population, I would get the cameras and hit the ground running with as many tools as you can to get the job done. If you are doing regular towing as well, you can wait on cameras and do some manual hunting to see if you really want to do it and what you can learn from it. If you plan on doing just repos, you want the cameras ASAP. You are going to need a lot to put cars in, have a front desk attendant and all that behind some glass of course.. People get really angry.. Fenced in and locked up. Business insurance of course but the coverages requirements can vary from contract to contract. Best thing to do is just to walk into a big name bank and sit down and talk to them about what they would require. Then after that everybody else should have similar requirements.

      Get skiptrace software and run credit checks. Best nights are weekdays. Weekends are when people are usually out and the best times are between 1-4am for locating and pickup. Use a smaller car to spot because running a tow truck constantly past the person you are looking for will alert them and will just burn a ton of unnecessary fuel. Be sure to check all the local laws and you will be surprised what you can and can't do and never stop loading to talk to somebody coming out. Get hooked and booked and never give them time to get their buddies there to team up on you. They only have until you get loaded up to hand over the keys and I often tell them they can only remove property from the car if they give me keys.
