FUNdamentals and learning to train, making youth athletes want to come back and love the process. Literally setting them up for the rest of their careers. Many youth training topics I discuss in my videos
My son is almost 9 I think he does to much but he loves sports. He boxes he plays soccer he plays basketball and plays football. I just don’t want him to get burnt out
Yo Chris my man can you do a more detailed video of each age group please, can you touch on like what exercises you would do with each age group and why! Also set and reps
Awesome video! I'm 15 and play soccer and i'm training Every day both soccer training in the gym. I'm doing push pull legs right now, IS That good or should i do a full body workout program?
If you are in the gym everyday push pull legs is great, you can also do an upper lower split. But if you want to go to the gym everyday full body isn't optimal. Full body splits are great if you are going 3-4 times a week or less.
Bro I am a cricket athlete I am 16 yrs old and just one que. that I am a bit confuse about leg training at home as gyms and all that stuff is still closed in India and one thing that can you just give a template for leg training at home and an effective workout split for athletes at home and tips on how to implement agility;acceleration, speed, plyos, etc in training. And a video on agility and acceleration progressions. Pls help me as a coach. Thank you 👍.
In my experience, these learning to train programs are boring for kids, doing weird exercises and drills. What kids need is a lot of play doing many different sports, with only a little structured exercises, but mostly actually playing sports. Basketball, soccer, volleyball, skiing, climbing, running, football, wrestling, boating, gymnastics, tennis, swimming. A dozen different sports. Minimum. I agree with the anti-early specialization thing. But the way this learning to train model has been implemented is boring. Sure, do some calisthenics. Kids should be doing push-ups, pull-ups, squats, etc. And sure do some weight training after they have mastered calisthenics. But most of the practices should be playing the game. Not just drills and exercises. Kids want and need to play the game. And they should be doing multiple sports. And not get turned off by being forced to do boring exercises and drills.
I love this video. I used it in my recent blog post about strength and conditioning training for young athletes. It's really a good addition to my article. Feel free to check it out if you like :)

You are not soccer player if you are doing PPL split.
I would suggest upper/lower or 3 day full body split because you want to train with the ball more and get more technical.
@@cesar2787 I agree, especially in a sport like soccer which is super technical and doesn't rely on physical strength most of the time.
High frequency full body could be optimal on a bulk
This is called LTAD stages. Good explain chris.
