So basically the cops withdrew their case and walked away like nothing happened..... It doesn't feel like a victory to me because the cops withdrew on their terms.
True, but I think he has taken a christian attitude to turn the other check to those that were pushed to enforce the rules as they were and, as he said, get involved in trying to ensure it doesn't happen again instead by getting involved in the political process himself. Good on him!

We want names of all arresting officers and supervisors. State lawyers as well. They need to be outed and charged with violation of basic human rights. Need to put the state on notice that the population will not tolerate our rights to be taken away.

Justice dictates that he must be awarded damages for the wrongs committed against him. They can’t just decide to withdraw charges after years like they are continuing to do. This stinks. Where is the Law Institute? Obviously the Attorney General would be laughing at him, but how do we get this abuse of power stamped out? This is gaslighting by Vicpol and they deserve our full scorn and contempt.
Great how it works isn't it. The average Aussie taxpayer has to crowd fund to fight these charges. That the police then decide when they are challenged are not justified. Withdraw the charges with no compensation. Even if the police pay compensation, it's the taxpayer who is really paying. The taxpayer keeps getting bent over and ripped another one.

Although I don't disagree with going down a political route to change laws... I'd really like to see the civil route taken for punitive damages. Going down this route, although notable, you need the numbers and the visibility (to get the numbers), I'm concerned that day is dead and buried as far as the media is concerned.
