That looks like a bio hazard job. Needles, dirty attends, and was that smell from an unattended death? Besides the narrow stairs and hot conditions, hazard pay is definitely in order. Boards to slide stuff down the stairs on, a large garbage can to hold open heavy duty contractors bags while filling them. I would have wanted a mask on for this one, with Vicks vapo rub on my upper lip. Charge what your services are worth. Love these videos Shane!!

I really think if I were you I would not take a job in a hoarder house apartment or anything like that without seeing it in person!!! I can't believe you were able to do that in two days or two truckloads!!! God bless!!!
You could use the 2 waterbed support boards put a couple hinges on them to unfold and put on the stairs to slide down boxes and bags down them & cut out a few slots for handles to carry easier. Glad you use the reciprocating saw. Maybe use a couple of garbage cans with wheels and handles for hauling stuff to the truck, etc. Like the videos as always.

As a kid who grew up in a situation like that, I know that smell. You don't forget it. I usually can't watch the show hoarders or scenes like this cause ptsd. But for some reason this one didn't trigger ha! Amazing how some people live...
Imma be honest , i was getting annoyed when you cleaned out the cabinets , you could’ve easily swiped it all in the boxes instead of picking everything can up 1 by 1 😂😂🤣 GREAT JOB THOE MAN ! Seriously bro ! This video was motivation & you handle everything flawless
You need to use those contractor bags that are super strong! Yes they would cost more but maybe you could even throw them out the window without them breaking!

I enjoy following you on your jobs and some of them are rather interesting. I do have a suggestion for you. If you kept some 2 feet wide strips of plywood in your truck you can ring it so you could connect them and lay them down on the stairs And then and you could put boxes and crates on them and just and just let them slide to the bottom Therefore not having to bust your **** carrying everything up and down

ShaneMan you seem like a really nice, patient person to me and I do and have enjoyed your channel recently but sometimes I think you deal out some harsh judgements. For example “smelly house”, the person who lived there may have had serious physical or mental health issues Shane and was probably neglected by family and health officials and you are in the junk removal business remember, what did you expect! You should pray for those occupants of a hoarded premises not judge them. Rough with the smooth Shane just like any job. Oh. Get a mask, clean folded wet washcloth with a good dot ( smeared ) on outside of washcloth. Place in mask, and on your face it goes. You won't smell anything bad, from those dirty, stagnant closed up houses. You won't even smell Sh.t! Get you those thin throw away gloves that come in 50 to 100 per package at dollar tree, or 99¢ stores. Place under your work gloves, keep your hands clean. If you all take a lunch break. Gloves come off. Hands are clean.Clean freak! Great job guys!

That was a beast of a job. Hope you at least got some scrap out of it. Not the garbanzo beans though. Not sure I'd be that desperate even if they were in the store. About all I'd have kept would have been the laundry soap. Not like it could spoil. OTOH the plastic bottle could stink pretty bad. So maybe not. Too bad those AC units in the windows weren't working.

How much would he have to charge to take the time to read every can and package? Easy to say donate, but image yourself doing this within a fixed timeframe.
Maybe put the finger on the landlord to remove items that can be donated.
You know it is bad when you need a rake & shovel. Ugh. And why the big name junk removal companies charge what they do.
Once again you didn't charge nearly enough. You or any of the other guys could have easily gotten stuck by a used needle, the air quality with the outside temp. so high I'm sure was toxic. I guarantee anyone else would have gotten five thousand for that job, that is if they could find someone else. Stay SAFE!!!

I saw corning ware. Collectible. Was all the food outdated,? Not that I believe in that anyway. And yes there are folks who would appreciate all those sealed packages of health and beauty type supplies/food- no matter where they come from. You need to rethink, in today's economy, and its only getting worse.
Point the finger at the landlord. Make landlord responsible for donating. Shane is not hired to sort and remove, he is hired to remove. He would have to charge way more to sort and the job would take considerably longer. As you heard landlord was pushing hard for lowest price no matter what.
$1000 bucks right off the hop if you don't charge that much after this oen you'll have a broken back there are two jobs there clean all the crap up and then clean the dam house. but knowing you you'll grab it for a losey $800 bucks because your Mr Cheap. and who cares about your back problem. Not me been there done that and bought the t-shirt.

I had a guest over and we watched this episode together and afterwards where disgussed by your attitude thoughout and were both taken back by the change in the shows content and the difference in you , frankly i have commented on a total of mabey three things over 12 years of UA-cam viewing. Pro tip: Check out aurikatariina's UA-cam channel. She cleans hoarder houses free of charge. She has a million and a half subscribers and doesn't whine her way through the cleanups. The dirtier the environment, the happier she is! 🙂
Sponsors pay and so does UA-cam and with that amount of subscribers the channel is probably bringing in 5-6 figures a year from the sponsors and UA-cam…Shane isn’t at that level of subscribers and smdiesnt have sponsors paying the guys and his bills…maybe some day…my pops is a contractor so I can understand the amount of labor this took…he under charged…and honestly, it looks like it was an elderly person who possibly died in the apartment which from what we were shown..that wasn’t disclosed…that would have been the first question I would have asked after seeing it..and then added another $1000 at least just for the health risks of being in it…idk if I would have done the job and I’ve worked some nasty jobs before…but it was demo… itching gets saved and we go through with a large sledge hammer and tarps lol
Man, you need to quit charging by the truck load on these kind of clean outs. This isn't just removing boxed up items. When you have to bag everything charge by the job, and ask for pictures of the entrances and stairs. Quit selling yourselves short. The work is out there.
