Working with people from India "do you understand?" "Yes"... two weeks later "You did nothing/everything wrong, do you understand it or not?" "Yes"... two weeks later "Listen your in Holland you can admit you don't understand, hell you can even tell me my explanation sucks, welcome to Holland 🤣"
This series of episodes will be focusing on the Senpai-Kohai relationship AT WORK, during the adulthood of a Japanese person. Please note that none of these are being exaggerated and that it is very common to be facing such situations. EPISODE 4: Senpai are never wrong, Kohai are. ➡️As a Senpai, once you spot any mistake or inaccurate information from anything your Kohai produces, it is your duty to show them they are being wrong. ➡️As a Kohai, once you spot any mistake or inaccurate information from anything your Senpai produces, it is your duty to absolutely ignore this fact and potentially accept it as a new reality. The reason behind this is simple: noticing a mistake from someone that is supposed to be more experienced and wiser than you, is a direct attack to someone’s pride in Japan. It might sound ridiculous to you, but for us, pride and harmony are amongst the highest things to protect.
@@japanesewithhikari Wow. That seems authoritarian, because everyone makes mistakes, and a wise person understands that he or she is not perfect. I feel this hinders growth, creativity, and positive change, but I understand that change is a fear in Japan, even if it is for good reasons. Very interesting to learn. Thank you for the explanation.
I love this series!! Please include Japanese subtitles 🥰
Knowing this, i wonder how japan is so successful.
Discipline, respect, rich culture, team work, honor, etc.

Unexpected Thundercat! (but very fitting 🙃)

@@japanesewithhikariWhat if ignoring/accepting the senpai’s mistake risks them being incorrect when they present information to their superiors?
