This video was wonderfully executed Dr. Ellis. The educational line up was clear, concise, and easy to follow. I also enjoyed each product rundown with its power house ingredients. Thank you again!
So helpful with the categories and breaking everything down. I also appreciated the different options/price points! Thanks for providing great info that is trustworthy and not overwhelming.
Great video 🙂 would you be able to do a video showing how to incorporate all of these into your routine? For example, which products should not be used together, which for am and which for pm, and what order to apply for maximum results? Thank you!
Yes this!
Amazing video. I absolutely love how organized it is and the visual text boxes are great for understanding the info. Keep it up!!
I would love to see a routine suggestion for darker skin with skin pigmentation problems and anti aging. This video was great though. Thank you!
Love to have some affordable products on the list here and there😅
Loved the video💚
So on point!! Thanks for the info ❤❤❤
Great video, it's always nice to have a professional confirm you're on the right path. Would you by chance be able to make a video that talks about lasers or procedures that might be the next step if your dark spots aren't fading as much as you'd want with just tropicals?
Happy to! And I think that’s such an important point to make regarding the fact that often topicals are great for initial fading and maintenance but often lasers, peels, etc may also be needed for optimal results
@@DrSamEllis That would be great! I’d love if you could highlight which lasers and procedures are safe/unsafe for melatonin-rich skin, too! 💛
This is great info. Not overwhelming at all!
Would love to see your recommendations for oily skin!
I need to add an exfoliant so I am glad that you dove deeper into this topic as I was confused whether to choose glycolic, lactic or mandelic acid and my next addition is gonna be a peptides serum.
Great video, I like how the categories of ingredients is explained. 👍
Very informative!
This was so great information so good. Your skin looks beautiful.
Thank you Dr. Ellis, great video as always - would you suggest using the Shiseido serum before or after vitamin C in the am? And before or after tretinoin at pm routine? Thank you and take care!!
You're amazing and the education and recommendations are so appreciated. I've seen results with peptides, Vitamin C, Tretinoin and sunscreen. I hope you're feeling as wonderful as you look. Best!
I'm 67 and use Differin (along with other actives) for anti-aging. My skin looks fabulous.
I’m in my 30s and starting to look at incorporating anti-aging ingredients, but I also have acne. Right now I use vitamin C and sunscreen in the AM, and then benzoyl peroxide wash and adapalene at night.
I love you and these videos so much!!!! Thank you. And glad topicals faded has your approval.
Very well put!
Great video, so informative and it’s the Perfect plan for your skincare. Love u thank you!❤️
So helpful!
I’ve been wanting to add more peptides into my routine!
Always full of knowledge :) Could you please introduce some cheaper choices with anti - aging ingredients?
More content please! Love your channel!
Can you do a video on anti-aging neck creams and treatments? 🙏🏻
Great, informative video! Your hair is always so beautiful and the fig tree in the background is incredible! So big and lush. Love your videos!
FINALLY, I understand free radicals now! That was such a quick and simple explanation. So far, I only ever got confused when someone tried to explain it.
I think the advice was very sound. I have been on a skincare journey for years. I would also mention that it’s important to add things such a microneedling and other skin trauma based routines to keep messaging to your skin to build collagen. Routine is such a key factor in aging gracefully.
I'm loving the Ordinary Lactic Acid 10% right now. I've seen people incorporating this in the am and pm, and am curious if you would recommend morning or evening with this product?
Awesome video! Thank you so much for all the great information you provided! I instantly subscribed after watching this video 😊 Keep the great content coming, i’m here for it ❤️
I never liked the word "anti-aging" I'm not against aging, I know I'm gonna age. I like the term "pro-health" when you look healthy, you look younger
Or like, youth-sustaining ingredients😅
Hello Dr. Ellis, great content in your channel. I have been dealing with dark spots and the Tranexamic acid has helped a lot. I was taken tablets not topical but it is not available anymore. Which concentration is a good one to look in a cream or serum? Thank you!
Great video!
About PHAs, are they good for skin with roseacea? Can they be incorporated in the same routine with Azelaic acid ( using Fineacea)? How many times per week?
Thank you so much, i learned a lot from your videos! Love your channel, kisses from Italy
Wow this is my favorite video on your channel!
Thanks for this overview! And thank you for mentioning growth factors. Not a lot out there about these products and the type of growth factors used vary. Throw in the marketing and it can get very confusing!
That Timeless serum product is incredible. I saw improvement within days. Thank you, Dr. Sam❣️❣️❣️
I always look forward to your videos! Informative and simplified. Thank you so much for sharing!
Thank you that means so much!
I’m so happy I started on a good skin care regimen, but a little late to the game when I did in my late 40s, I’m now 59. My go-to’s are tretinoin and I’ve worked up to the 1%, Maelove’s the glow maker for the vitamin C, Hylamide’s niacinamide, but I believe Deciem is doing away with the Hylamide line. I do love the ordinary AHA/BHA exfoliant acids. I have a little routine that I do every week and I know my dermatologist had told me several years back to only do the Tretinoin twice a week due to the black box warning’s.
Thanks for another great vid! I really like Timeless products, and have been using their Vit C and Matrixyl Serums for years! 🥰
You are fantastic!
Excellent video, Dr. Ellis! Just what I was looking for.
I am in my 80's and I know that no matter what products I use I will never look like I am in my 20's but I really want to have my skin like the best 80 year old skin. LOL
I love the Avene RetinAL. It caused my skin to wake up after using for only two months. This is after years of using Retinol. I also use in the winter LaRoche Cicaplast cream at night to seal everything in. I do like one of the Paula’s Choice 50 sunscreen. It seems to go on white but sinks in and is a light lotion. Thank you for this video.
Those are great products but this video seems like a paid promotion.
Hello Doctor. Thank you for all the content you create for us. I have just one question, what are the best body retinol creams/lotions that you recommend. I have started seeing sign of aging in my body and apply sunscreen but I would like to know if there are any useful body retinols? Thank you.
Thank you for another super informative video! Can you comment on use of devices such as Omnilux vs nuface and which is beneficial for an aging skin with sun damage and other normal aging issues.
What’s the maximum %glycolic acid peel for in office procedures and what is the maximum% you would recommend for at home use? I want to make sure I’m doing the right thing at home and what’s for in office only!!
I started tretinoin a year ago when I was 21 because I want to be preventative with anti-aging, but I tried the ordinary retinol 2% when I was 19.
Very helpful video! Do you have recommendations for a retinoid eye cream/serum that is less irritating but still effective?
Loved this video!! Super informative. I love that you talk about more affordable yet effective products. How do you feel about Skin Better Science products?
Dr. Sam, what are your thoughts on biosil (silicone and choline)? Haven’t found any derm talking about it anywhere….do you think it really helps generate collagen in the body? Thank you 💜💖
I love your channel! Life stressors for the past 5 years have accelerated the aging of my face (especially my undereyes), even though I have been using the basics (vit C, moisturizer with niacinamide, sunscreen, and tretinoin) . Can Maelove Retinal be used under eyes. Can there be rebound hyperpigmentation with prescription Azaleic acid?
Great video! thank you
Thank you for this! While pregnant is it ok to use the Good Molecules brightening toner even though it has some Alpha Arbutin? Are there different types of AA, some pregnancy or breastfeeding safe?
I subbed giving you a try doctor thank you.
Thank you for great information. Can I mix antioxidants with retinol or antioxidants with acids ? How to incorporate in to my routine. Thank you 🙏
Thank you for featuring some cruelty free brands.
great video! what is your opinion on beauty tech, devices for home use. I just ordered this facial brush Luna 3 from Foreo, and I am so pleased with the results!!! did not expect it to be that good!
I've come across a brand here in South Africa called 'Skoon', and I've just started using their retinal
Would love your perspective on it. Its so difficult to get many of the brands you mentioned here in South Africa 😥
Thanks Dr. Ellis for this very well laid out outline of anti aging skincare products. I have seen good results with vitamin C serums and trentinoin evening out my skin tone. I have been doing lactic acid for 6 months. I have not used peptides yet and I always use sunscreen.
Wow yoyr routine looks great. May I know which brand vit c you are using. I find it hard to find a product that work for my sensitive skin
Shisedo products always smell so good 🥰
Do you have any thoughts about growth factors stimulating cancer cells?
What a great video!
Love you so much Dr Sam! You’re always glowing and so kind! I been trying the Sunday Riley CEO GLOW OIL. It’s been pretty nice. I like mixing it with my Tatcha or Rajeunir moisturizer. Such great products. I been thinking of shisado their products are so innovative as well. The Vichy mineral 89 is so so good. Have you ever tried it?
Thanks for another informative video! My only concern about the Shiseido Ultimune Serum is the high concentration of alcohol. I understand it functions as a solvent. Do you think that this could be a problem?
Great information. Thank you. I have tried three different regimens. I love Lancer exfoliation, cleanser and moisturizer for sensitive skin. Sometimes I will add in the lift serum. The second regimen I like is ZO by Dr. Obagi. I use his anti aging pack. I tried Cureology but wasn’t a huge fan. I rarely get breakouts but seemed to get them when using their products. No matter which regimen I always use my Timeless Vitamin C.
I already use the CE Ferulic Acid. Would it be beneficial to add the Shiseido serum in routine as well? If so, how would you layer those?
Hi have you reviewed the timeless vitamin C been using it as it’s more affordable think skinceuticals, and I am loving it!
Nice video I also suffered from acne so I made a video on my profile about the supplement I took for anti aging too. Skin treatment is not easy
Hi Dr. Sam Ellis! Is it okay to use tretinoin (Altreno) under the eyes? I have brown skin (Indian), so I’m wondering if it’s a bad idea and if I should use something like retinaldehyde instead.
Great video - what is the order we should use these products in. 1 - Vitamin C, then …? I’m overwhelmed. And where does HA fit in? Thanks
I'm 23 and started using Retinol last year and moved my way up to Differin a few months ago. It has been really effective for my hormonal acne and I've noticed my skin looking more glowy and even! That, along with sunscreen every day has totally transformed my skin. Thanks for your recs, Dr. Ellis!
Yay that’s so great to hear! You’ll have awesome skin forever starting so young!
I’m also 23! What retinol did you use and now?
@@noechj9189 I first used the CeraVe Resurfacing Retinol serum (1 bottle worth) and then started using Differin! Differin definitely helped more with my acne than the retinol, but I wanted to get my skin used to it first
Wonderful!!!
I can't wait to see the baby! Good luck with the delivery!!
I always loved the Obagi products! But now that I’m in my 70s what skin care routine do you recommend? It’s so confusing to pull some from here and some from there.
Dr. Ellis, thank you for your helpful, informative videos. Question: I have a few dark spots on my face and several on my hands. Most of them are from photodamage, but one on my face and one on my hand are suborrheic keratoses. Will consistent use of topicals (retinols, acids, CE Ferulic, etc) eventually get rid of them? Or do I need a procedure and if so, which one? VI Peel? IPL laser? Other??? Thanks!
Would you consider bakuchiol to be an antioxidant?
retinoids give me insane acne when my skin is otherwise clear so I have not been able to add this into my skincare routine..... I dont have wrinkles dark spots or any pigmentation problems at the moment but im 34 and dont want to do nothing for my skin. Thanks for the tips im going to try to add a few of these into my skincare, I get overwhelmed and worried im not doing enough and while I dont have an signs of aging just yet I dont want to leave it.
With Anti Aging dermalmd My complexion looks and feels better than ever. It's so smooth and soft, looks younger. I've received a number of complements, one person wanting to know what I'm doing to my face, there's definitely a change. I'm very pleased.
Dr. Ellis love your videos and would this work equally on women of color or would we need to add or take away with finding a regimen that works for us? Thank you
What do you think about tensage growth factors?
I am addicted to your videos! Thanks for such great content. I just added Timeless Vit. C 20%. I noticed the most luminous glow, that I haven’t had in 10+ years, after just one use. Great product! Can you please do a video on at home red light therapy masks for the face? I am 42 yrs young and have Malasma and rosacea. From what I can tell it’s supposed to help with both, but would love Dr. Sam’s opinion.
Can I use growth factors and copper peptides in the same routine?
Loved this, thank you :)
So happy to hear it!
You are😀 glowing today
I started using the Skin Medica TNS Advanced+ Serum this past summer. Love it!!! ♥️ I use Altreno at night & Skinceuticals C E Ferulic in the morning. Great video, Dr. Sam!
Incredible trio!
Hi Dr. Ellis, great video! I was wondering if you have any advice on minimizing the appearance of lip lines? Not smoker lines but lines on the lip itself…. I don’t want to resort to fillers. I’m only 25 but I’ve noticed they’re getting more prominent :(
My favorite antioxidant serum is Regime Labs Vitamin X. Soooooo good, and layers well with my moisturizer and sunscreen!
I’ve been wanting to try the Regimen Labs. I’ve heard so many great things about it! 😍
Dr. Ellis, I am interested in trying the Sunday Riley Good Genes Glycolic Acid Treatment. Can you pls tell me what percentage of glycolic acid this product contains? Tnx.
Hi Dr Ellis, thank you so much for taking the time to help all of us! At what age would you say that retinol & fit C are a waste of money? I'm 72 and have thought about adding these to my daily routine. Would appreciate any info. Thank you
I've heard multiple derms on UA-cam say that it is *never* too late! Don't forget the sunscreen too :)
Very informative video about different products. My question is that can you use other exfoliants like AHA orPHA while you’re using retinoids ?
Great Video! I have seen great results with sunscreen, agency tretinoin prescription, the ordinary 7% glycolic acid toner, cerave moisturizers - daily moisturizer- the thicker in the tub moisturizer with a pump - and the purple peptide créame (I like it around my eyes and neck sometimes) cerave hydrating and salicílico acid cleansers. I play around with some serums like the timeless vitamin c e ferulic acid serum, the ordinary serums are good too. I like the buffet for peptide serum. This has All helped my skin. I literally don’t age and my skin is clear and beautiful
This is a wonderful video - all these skincare terms get advertised to us, but it's really helpful to understand the specific benefits of each in the way you've laid this out. But the follow-up would be: how do you combine these into an actual skincare regime? For example, I've heard that you shouldn't mix peptides and retinoids within a certain time window. Additionally, if you are layering all these product types in one go, won't they lose their effectiveness - or worse, overwhelm the skin and actually cause damage?
Thank you! You don’t need to combine them all and retinoids and peptides can usually be used together. Copper peptides and vitamin c could possibly interfere with one another so I wouldn’t use them at the same time.
Sample regimen for mature skin that isn’t too sensitive:
AM: Gentle cleanse or AHA cleanser for more exfoliation/glow if skin isn’t sensitive (optional), antioxidant serum, growth serum, moisturizer (optional, could be a peptide moisturizer), spf
PM: Gentle cleanse, peptide serum, retinoid, moisturizer
But also most people don’t need to do everything! It’s just that some people won’t be able to tolerate some actives, like AHAs or retinoids so it’s nice to have other options.
Hope this helps!
I've definitely seen Results with the Lancome Absolue line of Skincare, although pricey. Tried Chanel Skincare & did nothing for my skin so it just depends on preference & where skin condition is at.
Do you still recommend Fre 123? And is this a good system for aged skin? When do you add tretinoin?
Hey Dr. Ellis, what is your opinion on rosehip seed oil and jojaba oil? ive been using both for a while now and they seem to be working alot
Hi Dr Ellis - can I use Laneige Sleeping mask or any other product over my Renova cream or should Renova be used alone?
I really like maelove for my neck since my retinol is too strong for that area.
Hi dra! Which is better, the skinmedica 1.0 or avene retrinal 1.0?
I saw a special with MaeLove. What do you think of the package of Glowmaker, Moonlight Retinal Serum, The Night Renewer Glycolic Acid Cream? I'm 66 years old with dry to normal skin. I am getting some age spots and want to do everything I can to keep my skin as nice as possible.
I currently use Glowmaker every morning but wondered what you thought of incorporating the other 2 at night.
I just want what's best to keep my skin as nice as I possibly can ❤️
And what's your thoughts on using The Ordinary 5% lactic acid with MaeLove Glowmaker in the mornings before moisturizer?
Thank you for all your knowledge ! Is an eye cream really necessary. I hear alot of people don't use one ? Do you recommend red light or any other home device for anti-aging ?
What are your thoughts on DNA repair enzymes?
