what are your thoughts on just putting the 3/4 plywood all the way to the back? I have another soft spot over the gas tank. it's not terrible, i'm 300 pounds and i can walk on it but it definitely flexes and the carpet and gel coat on top are rubbed away exposing the old wood.
Solid floor never is never the sign of a solid boat. They rot from the bottom up…. I bought a 1988 regal medallion for its engine. The original floor is actually solid. I thought it might make the lake once or twice. I started it and noticed the engine was dancing. Front motor mount gone. Rear stringers gone. Deck overs are dangerous… also why I play with tin boats only unless it’s with a saw all and a dump trailer
I mean hey, if it works it works. Its a cheap fix on an old cheap boat. Doesn't make sense to tear down and rebuild a boat you wouldn't be able to sell for half of the cost to fix it.
Awesome job. I have a 1994 225 scr Monterey open bow with the same issue with the soft spot. I’m going to go for it.
I have the 205 SCR cuddy, just started this, still need fiberglass as if we keep wood as is will go back to the same issue, needs better isolation.
U did an amazing job bro
Great tip on the hole saw drilling from both sides!
Great way to fix it for a pretty good price!
Nice job Mr!
NICE video! Thanks!!🙏
Amazing job, I have the same boat. Too bad the triple backflips were off cam.
Great job..

Well done sir .
Nice job.

Good job 👍
So you drilled right into the top of the stringers? Did you put anything into the drill holes?
What is that kind of bimmi bar
Did you keep your measurements?

yes... that should work fine. just make sure you don't screw into the tank or you will have a whole other problem on your hands.
I would replace it all while you're there.
Nice!
Thanks!
