I assume you’ll eventually test the newer Tesla universal wall connector. After watching your boy BTG I’m not trying to burn my house down with flakey 14-50 plug.
The 14-50 is fine if properly installed and used. The problem is people watching a five-minute YT video and deciding to perform electrical work for which they lack the expertise and/or using equipment not designed for repeated cycles of plugging in/disconnecting/plugging in/disconnecting.

I love that you are getting into reviewing more permanent home charging solutions. In the same vein, I'd like to see you also delve into slightly cheaper, more accessible charging solutions. Things like using mobile chargers with extension cords or dryer outlet splitters and such. In general, just things that might not necessarily require an electrician if the proper equipment is used. As an example, I personally use a Briidea auto switcher and plug into my dryer socket using a NEMA 10-30 plug, and then connect my mobile connector and dryer to the splitter.
for $11 more you can get the Tesla one from Tesla that will give you the button function to open the charge port, stop charging , etc. and then use an adapter for J1772 ad they have no special functionality. In the long run everything is switching to NACS anyway. Why invest in dying technology that lacks functionality ? Genuinely a question. (and Tesla has a 4 year warranty, not 3 like this one)

@@Gjeebs Thanks. Mine too. The reason I asked is if your charging two EVs, running the dryer, using AC, oven, etc. at the same time, you may be close to hitting 200 amps. Don't know what would happen at that point. When I had my garage 240v outlet upgraded to a 50 amp breaker the electrician recommended upgrading to 400 amp service if I were going to be charging two EVs at the same time.

Nice wall charger but why not just buy another Tesla charger for cheap to take on road trips? I think these fancy expensive chargers with apps on phones do the same as the app for your car, unless i'm missing something?
