I wouldn't edit the old videos or even take them down. It's part of the history of your work as a skater, and it shouldn't be touched. If you want to add a disclaimer on the videos, sure, that's fair, but I wouldn't remove them.

Yeah, I mean I didn't even think the situation with brallie was that bad. It sounded like it was mostly internal drama other than impacting anyone who was getting lessons at the warehouse. I don't see any issue with releasing the old content and getting a new sponsor and start making content representing that brand.

crank up the ideology a bit. Say Braille turned out to be Nazi-sympathizers as opposed to insane Scientologists. Would you still want Jonny to release shoes through people that are obviously bad in the eyes of many? Or would you complain that you weren't able to give bad people more money and support? The answer is obvious. But some people are just capitalist shills that have no self-respect.

Jonny, please don't get rid of a single video. I started skating in 1968 with a steel wheel roller skate nailed to a 2x4. My junior high and high school years in Santa Cruz were guided by the stoke Craig Stecyk and the Bones Brigade were laying down. I never made anything of myself in skating, but at the age of 63 I still compete in slalom and roll around the occasional concrete bowl. If my perspective has any validity - your channel isn't just another skateboard channel. It's a historical document. Your care with finding the drive behind both the old and the new are chronicles that showcase the sport and lifestyle we love so much. And that, there, is the kicker. Your love for skateboarding is evident in every video you make, every sentence you publish, every bone you break. This is just a moment in time. Some times are good, and some are bad. In the long run your contribution is immeasurable. Chin up brother. Head down, and drop in. We love you. You got this. Your videos should live on forever.

I’m glad some of this is happening personally. I feel that people are getting into skating because they want to get sponsored. That was never even a thought in my head when I started skating that I would get sponsored. Lolol. These kids today are delusional. Just watching this makes me laugh. Skating owes you nothing ! Absolutely nothing.
Just because you uploaded some videos and you might be good at flipping your board you deserve to be sponsored. Amazing. I was skating when Zoo York came up in the very first days. I got some flow and when I say flow I mean I got given my boy cast offs and we did a bunch of magazine commercials.
I was so stoked that I got a couple pairs of shoes and a board or two.
You have to make your own way homey.
Lastly nobody cares about if I need boards or flow. Nobody gives a shit. Sorry but that’s a fact. Get a job that’s related to skating.
I skate because I love skating I could give zero F……s if I get sponsored or not.

Aaron broke our hearts, man. It's tragic. Also, on the pro athlete topic, you have my sympathy 100%. For real - As a ski pro myself (in multiple respects) I have been SO blessed to not only be able to earn my living from skiing ALONE, but even just having my first ever sponsor as of a couple years ago (K2) they have literally hooked me up with SO much free gear over the last couple seasons, that I haven't even been able to use it all yet. They treat even their most entry level brand ambassadors like absolute family - Which is the way it should ALWAYS be. I'm not saying this to brag, but rather, here's my point: On the ski side, I'm not even HALF as talented as you, Johnny. Although I'm INCREDIBLY grateful for what I've been afforded, you should have NO LESS than the same. It's not fair, and I see you, friend. 😔💚

So while the rest of the team was working to keep the channel running, Aaron was taking all that money and giving it to scientology instead of paying his employees that were keeping Braille alive.

He said it was too expensive, which is probably true... renting commercial real estate in that area is very expensive, especially if he was giving the proceeds to his organization, probably can't afford to rent the warehouse now. Everything has a beginning and ending. The best tips I’ve heard from a pro athlete is from the mountain bike legend Hans Ray who’s been with his main sponsor GT Bicycles for 20 years plus:
    1. Ask not what the brand can do for you, but what you can do for the brand.
    2. Make a year book every year which clearly lays out your achivements the last year. Print it and have it as a PDF. Show Photos and videos on all platforms with view numbers, click throughs and watch times. This makes it really easy for the PR people in charge to see what you can give them and the value you can add to the brand.
