“That…. is bang out of order. That’s not how we were raised” I know it’s the bare minimum, but coming from Ronnie of all people it’s so weirdly touching.
I agree! Even tho throughout the movie Ron showed her a lot of indifference and disdain I thought it was very sweet how in this moment he shows her a sliver of empathy and compassion cuz even he knows and acknowledges that it was wrong and horrible of Reggie to beat her like that.
I love it, shows the depth of his character. Lots of people full of crap like "equal rights equal lefts" I wonder if they every give it any proper thought? Like as if there is anything equal about a man and woman in a physical fight.
I was told when Reggie and Ronnie were younger, their dad hit their mum, so they beat the s*** out of him and threw him out the house saying “don’t ever come back” Proves they were brought up to respect women, especially their mum
If you dont know Charles bronson told Tom hardy “sometimes you gotta cut a little of your self out to grow” after a breakup that made tom Hardy depressed
Thru the whole movie I could see that Ron “ cared “ for Francis. The way he would look at her. Even when he made rude remarks to her he said it out of hurt and pain NOT dislike of her. Ron was a man with a lot of pain and 2 voices in his head , the good TRYING to overcome the evil one but most often evil would overtake his good when provoked. He even made mention of this when his brother had him on the floor in the club. He knew he was “ crazy “ . Sadly.

Tom Hardy will never do work as well as this film. It was amazing the way he played both parts. This is when I actually discovered Tom Hardy. So handsome, his accent and teeth. Some people look much better with imperfect teeth. Veneers would ruin his look.
Reggie was a good character until this point, what did he expect Frances to do? He ignore her, got her a car for her birthday then never taught her to drive it, calls her ugly, then assaults her when she smacks him. Completely different from the beginning of the film when he put business aside to go on dates with her and was always caring towards her. Then he acts all depressed after she unsurprisingly killed herself. In real life the kray brothers never abused women so I don’t see the need to add that in the film
I think if he did kill her, it was verbally... like really verbally abuse her, since he was known to do so... You'll be surprised what words can do to a person.
Reggie apparently died of aids. Freddie Foreman told Fred Digence that the 2 biggest secrets of The Krays are Ron killing Francis & Reggie dying of aids.
He said that's not how they were raised but then again who is raised like that anyway Yes men recieve special treatments around the world but no one really teaches to hit a woman And it was a martial rape before this scene
ANYONE NOTICE THE HUGE CONTINUITY ERROR IN THIS? At the beginning Frances come out of the entrance and as she walks along there are flower and shrub beds to her left (our right as we look at the screen). Then she stops when Ron is in her way, and the beds have gone, they're all next to the building's walls. But when the lads go off and Ron takes her case, the beds are back! So, when they filmed with the camera facing Frances and then when the filmed facing Ron, they must have done the two in different locations!
0:45 That line, was from Charlie Bronson, the man Tom Hardy would play in Bronson. Back in 2008, Tom and Charlie spoke on the phone. Tom’s girlfriend at the time broke up with him and he was a bit down about it. Charlie could tell something was off and asked, Tom told him the truth. Charlie then told a story of a flood where a man got his foot caught, people tried to help but he drowned. Charlie said, “That wouldn’t have happened to me because I would have said, ‘Cut it off!’” Tom Hardy took that lesson and in 2015, this film Legend came out, he married, started a family and he’s one of the world’s most famous actors. Nice of him to do that.

they need to give the gay man some redeeming qualities, in reality Ronnie never like her and was jealous of her and gave her the pill to die which he told to Reggie in prison, but hollywood can't have gay people who are completely evil.

How he acknowledged her eye and saying how thats not how they were brought up. 👌
When he points his finger at Francis and says "I always did like you." I felt that.
I do love how he basically tells her she’s dead but in a kind way
and she knows that he had seen what she would do later, that's the kiss for, they understood eachtother better then Reggie ever would.

Ron always cared for frances in his own crazy way and in a weird way they understood each other better than reggie understood them
Its sad that he finally admitted to killing her after he was in prison.
How
@lina-uw5xi Reggie said Ronnie told him 2 days after. Then, in 2002, an ex of Reggie said it was Ronnie.

Frances was more curvy and voluptuous.
Such an odd relationship these two had!

Why does the chap in the background suddenly check the drainpipe and the window? Was he thinking of burgling the place? (see from 0:21)
His Mum was Bianca in Eastenders.
He was a cat burglar, so maybe he is.
Because it was an awkward situation so if he pretended to be focused on something else, they'd forget he was there...
