I've finally broke the 12x12 latch hook kit record over my butterfly (12x12) one by only 20 minutes. That's a record time of 6 hours. The Sunshine Rainbow was the latch hook kit that I finished tonight.
So the canvas does not have the pattern printed on it. Or maybe some do?? In Michaels it says on the package description {online} that it has "printed canvas & canvas with color design"?? I actually push the latch hook through the hole first. I can go faster that way. I hold the previous yarn in a way to keep the grid from moving and to keep the knot tight.

So you'll have to pull and count out 8 white strands from the 27 cream strands. Good luck, I'm young and my eyes were still barely able to detect it😐

I couldn't tell for sure in the video, but aren't you supposed to hook onto the rows that are flat and not twisted? I thought it looked like the person in the video started hooking on the twisted weave. It may not matter, but I had a kit once that advised to hook on the flat weave.

The pictures were printed on here with the colors as the guide and they were bigger as well! For us older generation who's eye aren't that good anymore that would be great! Also, what happened to the variety of rugs? I really wanted to do a dolphin or more in water! This way us more time consuming and not relaxing nor fun! I remember doing this as a family for family time and I was going to teach my grandchildren but this is too much, too small and too time consuming I feel like I wasted my money and my child hood memories just destroyed! Please go back to the old way because this new way is for the birds and most of the younger generation. But if they had the old way they would enjoy it more as well!
Start at the first blue outlined square at the bottom corner. I have 2 of those big rugs and they work out every time I do that. I'm. Not the best at explaining but I hope I helped
I think that they over cut it. I'd try to do the one next to it (with 10). You can always cut the extra canvas. But to ensure you don't ruin it, I recommend that you check out the length of what it's supposed to be (and make sure those 8 squares aren't needed). Please tell me if it works out :0)
i realized that i did it wrong. so I did the long side on the short side, so i just had to switch it around, but it is all fixed now. and it is turning out pretty succsessful! thank you for ur help! :)

the latch doesn't come with the kit you can get them at walmart for less then 2.00 and there's only 1 size at walmart it has a wooden handle, that's the one I use . you can get the actual project kit at Micheals, Joeanns, walmart , I think Joeanns is the cheapest I LOVE the part " Happy Hooking " THANKS
Because then the canvas will unravel and the rug will be lopsided and confusing. Also it says start in the corner of a blue square on the pattern. Hope I helped! Hope you understand better now.
That's the difference between a plain canvas and a printed canvas. You have a defined starting point. Most canvas has pictures centered, so I assume that's why you don't start on the first square, bottom left.

I get that they all wouldn’t have one, but it says waayyy at the bottom in tiny red letters that it’s no5 included. That should be much more prominent for first time users. Always start in the first square of the grid at the bottom. Trust me I have done huge latch hooks since I was ten. They turn out good every time

The Swingin' latch hook monkey 15x20 latch hook kit actually took me almost 16 hours to make it without time breaks.

As far as I know and been doing this since I was a kid, there is only one size latch. only thing that changes are the size of the handles...
The latch hook is one standard size only.

Go back to the shop you got it from and they should give you another box most likely that box is just faulty
Ask for the grid, exchange for another, or return. I'm sure the company will work with you in any of these situations.
