Its nice . Just a note Stainless is better than Titanium thermally and longer life . I've owned many Ti exhaust systems and after many miles they have all cracked in some areas . I went Stainless on this bike a 2023 RS over Akrapovic for this reason and cost $350 vs the 1K , There are some interesting articles on Ti for exhaust use . Now when one is going for every ounce to be saved Ti all day
Does BMW mention the need to flash the ECU putting a slip-on or full exhaust on? My new to me 1250rs has installed a Cobra slip-on installed and I wonder if the ecu adapts to back pressure that a more free flowing exhaust allows
My understanding is that slip ons shouldn’t make a difference, but removing the CAT and having more open headers you should tune. But I would tune anyway as it really transforms the bike.
Thank you for the message and checking out the video. Do you mean on my handlebars? If so, on the right side is my QuadLock wireless phone mount. On the left side is a ram mount that I attach my Insta360 camera to. I hope that answers your question. Safe journeys!
II bought a 2022 R1250RS from a dealer back in April. I didn't realize at the time I bought it, but my RS has the full Akrapovic headers and can ( cat delete). I'm not getting any warning lights and it seems to be running great. The thing is, I don't know if it has been tuned or not. Is there any way I can tell if a tune or re-mapping has been done? Thanks!
Thanks for checking out the channel and posting your question. If it does have a tune and you bring it in for service if they hook up the computer to the bike it will override the tune and a erase it most likely especially if there is an update to the TFT. The dealer really should know if there is a tune or not when they bought the bike as a trade-in. All the signs that my bike has a tune are easy for me to understand because I have something to compare it to. For you that would be difficult. When I crack the throttle the exhaust valve pops open and the bike lurches forward. This didn’t happened before the tune. The BMW mechanic told me that happens because you have a tune.
@@Texas2Tires Thanks for your prompt response! I have access to a Hex GS-911 OBD2 scan tool. Do you think it could tell me something about the status of the ECU if it was flashed or not?
I like the sound it has now. However from the sound of your message, I’m thinking you’d probably be happier by taking out the baffles in the Akrapovic slip on to get more sound.
Excellent video! You got guts man to do that work! I have a few questions. First, I recall the BT Tune that you got not long ago. So you did the tune first and than added the Full headers and exhaust system and you did not have to re-tune your bike since you added the full system? It seems like adding the full system would mean re-tuning your bike. Do you get back fire and what riding differences have you notice adding the full system. I was hoping that you were going to give us an illustration. Finally, the tools that came with your BMW was that the only tools needed to remove the old system and place the new one on? Also, do you know if dealers are willing to do this for customers if the bike is not under warranty? Thanks great job!
Thanks watching. Yes I did the tune then the exhaust. The tune company said it was fine, but would make sense to do the headers first then do the tune. The bike is faster and a bit louder. The tune smoothed out the shifting, idle and engine brake.
SOUNDS GREAT! Inspirational, really! More recording of your RS’s sound, please!!! Thanks!
I’m happy with the sound. A bit more throaty but not annoying on longer rides or too bothersome to neighbors.
Looks and sounds great my friend💯👍
Thank you 👍 I’m happy with it.

Thanks for watching and sharing your knowledge. That’s interesting info, hopefully mine doesn’t crack anytime soon. Fingers crossed. 🤞

Hi. Good video. Could i ask what that extra bit is on your dash? Usb connector? TIA.

Do you feel it is worth it? Im mainly looking for the bike to be louder. I feel the bike is very quiet.
Having a hard time justifying the price of the exhaust just for minimal difference but I may be wrong. Phone audio may not be doing it justice

How much weight did you shave off?
Unfortunately not quite sure, but the CAT has some heft to it. I’m guessing I lost about 3-5 lbs ???
Is it the same for the R1250R? Can you send me the link for complete exhaust
Yes I believe it’s the same for the R,RS and GS. Here’s the link: www.shopbmwmotorcycle.com/products/akrapovic-r1250-series-titanium-header

@@Texas2Tires Thanks for responding!
You'll need extra tools including a torque wrench.
Looks and sounds good, do you have website where you get em from?
Thank you. I bought the headers from this website: www.shopbmwmotorcycle.com
they need to make one for the 1300 that I ordered ...
Just checked the Akrapovic website and seems they only offer the slip on for the 1300. Perhaps the headers will be available soon.
Yup, the header is the part I’m most interested in, not the can.
