Been going to The Drags in S. California since the mid 1970's. Whoever is running this social media account needs a raise! Amazing, up close look at this sport without the wacky background music. See you in Pomona. 🏆
People need to see all this in person. For me, I spend all my time in the pits watching these guys, I get more enjoyment watching this at the races. Thanks for posting.
I've been working on my car for a few months now, and I haven't done a tenth as much work as these guys do in 20 minutes. The choreography is impeccable.
This is amazing content!!! Get to see damn near the entire process start to finish (some small bits were cut out). I could sit at the ropes all day and watch this. Wish I was more physically able and about 20 yrs younger I'd jump in and help lol. Keep bringing us this good stuff!!!
I grew up watching drag racing in the Mid 70's in the Pomona area. My brother and I would see the Winternationals, go to Orange County Raceway and even watched one or two drag races at Ontario Motor Speedway, until we moved to Denver and I joined the army and went to Germany, where I reside today. In October (last month) I came to Dallas where my brother lives and went to the Fall Nationals in Enis (Dallas) The first live drag race we have seen together in 51 years and sitting right on the starting line was the was simply awesome! Thank you for this video, I would love to see more of these. Keep up the great work and shouts from Frankfurt, Germany...
Warms my heart to learn the burnout, was invented by Big Daddy, at the track a few miles from my parent's house, at the time, Riverside International Raceway. The quarter mile was run on the back straightaway, before turn 9, going "backwards" from South to North, and it is/was slightly uphill. Years later, I ran my 1970 Chevelle SS 396 on same track
This is what i love about NHRA top fuel racing. The mechanical side of it. Where else in any motorsport can you watch a race engine being built that will produce 12 thousand horsepower. Every other motorsport engines are built in secret and everything is hush hush. When i go to the races i love to watch a complete teardown and rebuild. Just fascinating, and the precision and coordination of the crew. By far the greatest motorsport on the planet.
I still remember like a new core memory, my 3rd birthday and my dad worked at the drag tracks in Hollywood Florida, this would be in 1989. I remember sitting with ear muffs in the pits watch them work on the car and smells that came with it. This was bloody good video.
it's amazing how from the time they pull the car in the pits from start to finish of disassembly to back together running is outstanding work Great no Awesome job guys
I'm definitely not a mechanic, but I think this video is impressive! what a fantastic display of organized team work and Logistics. all the tools set perfect and everybody in the right position at the right time. hundreds of movements. Haha impressive.😊
How do you even begin to intern, to learn how to work on those motors at that level? At what point would you be able to practice? That is One of the most incredible things I've ever watched. How would you even get started doing that? Do you start by scrubbing the tires? Do you start by changing the oil? Just amazing
I'm surprised all that clutch dust is allowed to blow on and into the motor. Should be away to vacuum the clutch cover out before pulling off. And yes I know some of it is smoke from the heat, but you can see the dust fall out as the guy pulls the cover off.
Effects of a little clutch dust won't hurt anything. During the run the engine has the equivalent to a bomb going off in each cylinder. The life of these engines is measured in seconds not thousands of miles.
This is the best kind of content. I like the “less talk-y, more work-y” style 😂

Yes!! I love videos like this! There needs to be more 😊😊😊😊
Insane. Team work at its very finest. For the amount of time they have to put it together to run flawlessly makes it more impressive. 👍✌
Incredible video. Absolutely love Nitro Funny Cars !! Have since the early 70's !!!
Best thrash video ever, fantastic 🔧🥇

My first time watching something like this. Only thing that comes to mind is INCREDIBLE !!!

A picture speaks a thousand words!
Watching the tear down is nearly as entertaining as watching the run
Interesting. Outside in on the head bolts. Love these vids!
Yup I thought that was odd too.
That still smoking clutch! 🔥A testament to the power it was subjected to.❤🔥

Wow.......What a crew!
Good job with the video. It’s nice watching and listening to the mechanics at work.

Absolutely incredible, wonderful to watch 10/10. UK
That is insane!!! These guys have MAD skill!!!
Amazing to watch the teamwork between rounds. Also wild to see the engine held on with hose clamps..... lol
And a big ass motor plate in back !!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Good stuff man.
.awsome video
Wow. This crew has done this a few times before. Amazing how little time it takes to do this maintenance.
Man that clutch pack looks like it took quite a beating.
Amazing that the camera man can get on top of the whole operation!!
superb video !!! more of the same please
Ps love the background drag passing vroooooom
17:20 Tragic. I’m a hat collector so hearing this stood out to me
What a team! How do they not lose parts? So much to do!
I noticed you torqued the heads from the outside in. I thought you were to tighten the head bolts from the center out.
Very interesting!

If only our government could work this efficiently, all for the greater good of our country.
Dose anyone have a clue what the torque the head bolts too Id like too know with how much power these engines have

Something tells me that it does not make a difference, having to only make one pass afterward.

It seems they have it down to a science. I’m sure if it were an issue they wouldn’t let it happen.
so fast and so hoot
speechless
Salam dari indonesia
So these guys could rebuild a passenger car engine this fast?
Damm
Make Nitro 90% again! Speeds and times have stagnated.
めっちゃ仕事はや!
why not swap engine? why swap part? 🤣🤣🤣 waste time already.
takes longer to swap engine
They make the Ferrari F1 team look like preschoolers.😂
