Hi im currently using yonex RD8 a very old model for years already with a 16x19 string pattern and 320 grams (strung). And i want to update it to percept. I am torn between 97d and 97h. I want 97h since it has the same string pattern to my rd8 but im worried that it might be too heavy for me. And as for the 97d the weight is ideal but its string pattern is 18x20. Will that make a big difference from my current rd8 racket if i switch. Your suggestions would greatly help.
between those two I would definitely pick 97H and if you are really worried, you can go with the percept 97 and customize it to your specs. good luck! they are similarly demanding I would say. 97H is heavier - yes but it's easier to hit a heavy ball where with the 97D you have to accelerate more to get similar ball. BUT at the same time it's kinda easier to use for a longer period of time...97H takes some energy..anyway - i would pick 97H :)
I am playing with 97H . I have one handed BH and I am 5-7 high. I am very happy with the racquet. As body adjusts to the racquet its weight seems to shrink on you. Racquet is stable on volleys and gives amazing plough trough sensation on ground strokes which is controlled and predictable. Very easy on arm and elbow .The kick serve now is no issue which seemed to be a challenge before. Really like it. Takes some adjustment period though.
@@alexanderpavlov1615 i really liked it too. However Vcore 98 Tour was slightly easier to move around with more free spin and power. Slightly less control and feel.
@@dandan.tennis To be honest I am always surprised when advanced and physically fit players like you bringing it up that 97H is heavy to swing and demanding on the body. What is the weight of the racquet of your choice ? Just curious. I am not an advanced player, a competitive club player to be specific. And I don't have any issues with its weight or swinging. Why do so many reviewers call 97H a monster ? 330 g unstrung weight and 330 swing weight are very generous and playable imho . Any thoughts ?
@@alexanderpavlov1615 usually around 315-325g unstrung but the SW between 295-300 (325-330). It could be Quality control issues that you got maybe a lighter version and i got a heavier but overall the margain is so tight with the 330g that its a bit risky to buy it. Without the preparation i would find it hard to play the whole tournament with this racquet which means playing sometimes 3h in a row, quick rest some food and another round of 3h match 😅 and like i said, i didnt notice that i am getting anything extra compared to my usuall 315-320 grams racquet so i am getting something heavier just for the sake of feeling it heavier. Not worth it. I really like the older version of the 330 vcore pro. Was the one when Yonex signed Hurkacz. Dont remember the exact model. I think it was the one when they decided to switch pattern from 16x20 to 16x19
This was a very insightful review thank you. Loved the way you explained its pros & cons. Best review on this model I have seen.
@@space1nvaders185 wow! thanks :) doing my best and trying to improve as well 💪🎾 there is a learning curve in video reviews for sure
Nice review and very clear. Loved it
Thanks ! 🎉
