being a mobile mechanic for nearly 10 years i have a massive respect for you on how methodical you removed that gearbox, liked and subscribed! treated my self to a Milwaukee cordless ratchet last year, well worth the investment if you dont have one! good on ya kevin!
gaz wirely Nice to hear from a fellow mobile mechanic. Thanks for the feedback. I wouldn’t leave home without my Milwaukee.. it’s an extension of me that. Take care and all the best to you too sir.
Looks a bit easier than the corsa c with the sub frames I need to do my flywheel and clutch on mine sometime getting a lot vibration when accelerating pretty sure dmf is wearing out done 98.000 miles so not bad .
William a got a second hand flywheel for my van and they sent me one with one of the clutch plate bolts lodged in a hole no head on it. Could I fit it with 8 bolts to hold it on instead of the designated 9 bolts am goin g of my head a waited a week for the part and now it's got one bolt hole filled that hold the clutch in place. Should I send it back.
Got a 2011 fiat doblo 1.3 was making a funny noise when clutch was pressed in like a bearing spinning then when driving clutch went to the floor, little bit smokey smelt abit of clutch would this be slave cylinder and clutch ?
Great videos Kevin. I'm going to have a go at doing the clutch and dual mass flywheel on my 1.9 multijet doblo. Looking at AP clutch kit, Valeo dmf, LUK bolt set. Does this sound right to you? Jon
effimia3 definitely go for the AP clutch kit....You’ve definitely got the correct parts. It’s not a bad repair. Some parts requires a little of patience. But it’s definitely doable in a day. Let us know how you get on.
Hi Kevin! I really appreciate what you are doing for us, and it is indeed quality content. You have my respect! Can I ask, do you still know the part number for the new clutch in this video? Mine is due but I can't seem to find an equivalent for the OEM part number currently fitted. I have the exact same clutch like this Combo, OEM Made by Valeo. And also, what brand do you recommend, I tend to stay with Valeo... Thank you once again!
@@WMCS Right, now I know which one, but would you also say this might be the best quality in this case? I was looking at Valeo or Luk just because I have used them before and I know they are alright. It is not about price, I need a reliable one because I am a courier, and this van racks up a lot or miles every day. Would you say to stick with AP? Thanks for this!

Stuart Brown lol.🤪. Glad to hear you got it done tho. My go pro is down. Hopefully will get a new one soon. Done a Mini Countryman. The worst designed clutch ever. Lol.

Great vid, no way it took you 34 mins rhough😂👍🏽I’ve got an 08 and started making “clutch” noise that goes away when I press the clutch, would that be the clutch realise or pilot bearing?
@@WMCS Hi, my gear selector disconnected on my 05 combo van. A drive home for 4 miles mostly in third gear except for about 4 5 stops. When I got home I could smell burning like rotten eggs. I have recently put my gear selector back on and the van drives ok. What do you think I should do next leave it or replace the clutch. Any advice.
Manicminer I take it you had to use the clutch pedal a fair bit.... the clutch plate will have most likely got very hot hence the smell... you may get a few more miles. But it’ll need replacing as it will most likely just brake away from the Rivet. A bit like charcoal. Hope you get a few more miles out of it.
William how u doing, I was wanting to no about your axle stand positioning are you on a slight slope as most I see outside that are safe from traffic have slight slopes can you or anybody that knows the safest way to do it on slopes. Maybe real wheel chokes will be better. Sand bags might be a bad idea more I think about it.
Manicminer I’m doing great thank you. If you have a slope always face the front of the vehicle downhill. When you Jack it up it will be more level and safer. But be sure to use wheel choker so the vehicle doesn’t move.
@@WMCSThanks for clearing that up for me better to make sure than to have an accident. I got two sand bags ,that should do the job what u think. A got two axle stands but am going to get another two. Love your videos. A looked up the weight of a gear box on my combo van 1.2 , they say 45 kilo ,when you lift them out it doesn't look 45 kilo ,it looks more 20 kilo or something, what would you say the average 1.2 opel deisel gear box weighs.
Manicminer you definitely need to secure the back wheels. The more axle stands the better. ... I think they weigh about the same. But always have some extra hands close by for safety.
No stranger to doing clutches on the Corsa and combos, it was a darn sight easier on the Corsa bs and combo bs no subframes and easy couple hours job, Just done a clutch on my combo c 2007 1.7 the job it's self is piss easy it's very time consuming on your own as so much needs to be stripped to get the box out the 1.7 fills the engine bay so access is limited, flipping subframe goes right across the box so has to come off, these days they come with dmfs so they need to be replaced and you had just as well replace the main seal as well which adds more time I don't bother bench pressing boxes anymore, bought a transmission jack, made lifting and lining up a peace of piss I would advise anyone doing diy clutches to get one.
@@WMCS do you know if I should disconnect the anti roll bar from the lower arm in order to get the ball joint out? Or can I get it out without having to disconnect the anti roll bar because it’s bolted to the underside of the lower arm. From my experience some of these Lower arms can be a right bastard to get the ball joint back in the pivot.

Really good job there you can see why a clutch and DMF is around £800+ at a Garage (Halfords/Dr Clutch etc).
Awesome video thanks mate

hi there respect.i own a corsa 1.3 70 ps cdti, but unfortunately the dual mass flywheel is broken, can i fit a single mass flywheel kit?
Hey William
are the work steps the same as for the vauxhall combo c 1.7cdti?
