Hobie PA's are nice, the main problem is hobie will nickel and dime you by selling you everything else at a insane markup. Like he mentioned the compass not having a lot of dry storage. It sorta does you just have to put a rectangular hatch on it (which hobie will be happy to sell you for a insane markup of 140 bucks)
Fr wtf. I heard it was because kayaks changed shipping classes making them 300$ more to ship. My guessing it has to do to curb more items being shipped by our WEF sellout politicians.
is it possible to remove the motor and just paddle the old town Mk 106 up and down small rivers and creeks like a recreation kayak? i dont fish much but i will start eventually, but the thing is so badass. i just cruise, paddle and drink beer.
Definitely the weight, it’s a heavy boat especially when you add a battery. Car-topping can be difficult if you have a taller vehicle, mainly due to the short length of the 106 which make it harder to car top. If you aren’t too worried about weight and car topping it, then you can’t go wrong with the 106MK. I would highly recommend a lithium battery, we use a 60ah and it does what we need it to. I would go higher if you plan on long days on the water (6-8+ hours), in that case get a 80ah or 100ah.
Definitely able to do it by myself, just with taller trucks/SUVs (with roof racks/bed racks) the shortness of the kayak kinda works as a disadvantage when doing it by yourself but it’s definitely doable.
Just bought my son the 106 mk. Awesome kayak, easy for my 12 yr old to operate he loves it
Hobie lynx. Super light. In and outbof the water quick. I'm a minimalist so it suits just right. I only bring what I need 😊😊
Ever been in a nucanoe? The frontier and the ultimate can be rigged with anything you want, and have some of the largest capacities.
I’d rather have a lightning kayak strike than either of the Hobies on this list. Just my opinion.
That’s fair

Prices are crazy higher now. Sportsman 106 is 3,350 now.

Absolutely and you can use the rudder to steer with your feet while floating down the river.

It’s about 85 ish pounds without the motor and battery. So definitely not light.

Looking at the 106 powered by minn kota. What if any are the negatives on it?
