I bought the 106 pdl last year used. It was 1800 and he only used it like 4 times. I bought the plate insert from Navarre Kayak Fishing so I could use it in shallow creeks. That thing is so stable. I sold my RS117 and I wished I could of kept it but needed to money to put towards the other one. Great content as always. 👊👍
Just heads up, I love my kayak Old Town Sportsman 106 pdl. I did caught fish, but one hard lesson pay attention to your fishfinder. I decided see how fast I can pedal. There was a stump underneath was short enough you couldn't see it. I broke a blade off propeller. But I ordered off Amazon another Propeller. Got it changed today. Tomorrow I'm going take it out and do some serious fishing 🎣 😎

Last Saturday, I bought new used kayak off Facebook market. I bought Old town Sportsman pdl 106. More my price range and came with fish finder, and few other stuff came with. Great price. So this weekend I'm going try it out!!!!
Aliex awesome vid!! Watching you guys is hilarious. But I love how you covered both Oldtown boats. The stability, PDL drive, and a little review footage of everything else.I love that fleet. Solid, stable, but the Autopilot is the top dog. No one can touch that kayak yet. It's really a one man boat. And you can add multiple options. Looking for mine now. That'll be my last kayak. They're now more available and I want one now just in case something happens again, like the COVID pandemic. 🌊 🎣 💯

But I'm keeping all my accessories, add-ons, and my DIY'S, so I have everything for my Oldtown. I also threw in my J2 Bixpy for him. But I'm purchasing the new PP-768, complete kit, and it will be through your link. I'm going to run that off my rudder, and then run the Minnkota, spotlock out at my spots. Down the road, I'm going to add my 2.5 Suzuki, I purchased it new 3 years ago. And when I run the outboard, I'll remove my Bixpy. I thought I was getting the Jonny bass, which was why I bought the 2.5 Suzuki. But then COVID hit. I know you were recently at action water sports. Did Dave have Any Autopilot 120's back in stock? And my cousin is an engineer. He's going to design my very strong mount for the 2.5. I've always known that was my dream boat. The hull, factory wiring, turn key, plug and play, and hands completely free. Also offshore. So many options, and it's my dream, one man fishing machine. Stay safe bro!! 💯 🌊 🎣

If you wanna save some money the 120 is cheaper, if you want all the perks the slayer offers more, both are stable enough for someone under 270# if you want a simple setup, not much rigging thr 120 would do if you all kind of rigging options, adding motors and stuff the slayer makes it easier
I just risked it all and saw one of these PDL 120 from the shadiest sellers on amazon and for 1199 dollars I took a chance. I'll update this either crying of sadness or crying of happiness in 2 days. Amazon's got my back... hopefully..

What's the maximum legal length for that kayak cuz we're tall most of the kayaks we tried had 34 length between the pedal and the seat we need 36 to 38 otherwise it's very uncomfortable to tasted quite a few except Old town. Hobie was the only one that could accommodate us but their way to expensive especially when you have to buy two
Not to mention, I can paddle all day without getting tired but I get tired fast pedaling. My legs are very weak and get muscle cramps if I overwork them.

I prefer classic paddle kayaks for the open sea. They are lighter, you sit lower and have a lower center of gravity.
Not to mention, I can paddle all day without getting tired but I get tired fast pedaling. My legs are very weak and get muscle cramps if I overwork them.

ummmmm by size the 120 pdl is more stable, but if you are under 250# you would not flip on teh ss127 under normal conditions
