China's High Alert: Japan join the US Military in joint-force drills in South China Sea.
One of America’s largest warfighting exercises in the Pacific is getting bigger with the addition of Japanese forces.Between the dates of June 7 and June 18, approximately 4,000 Japanese troops, eight boats, and sixty planes will join Valiant Shield. These forces included the carrier strike groups of the USS Ronald Reagan and USS Abraham Lincoln, the amphibious assault ship USS Tripoli, the I and III Marine Expeditionary Force, the 36th Wing, 15 surface ships, and more than 200 aircraft.
