Omg finally someone noticed this gem in Katoomba! I studied at the hotel school over there and as a Malaysian and especially from Penang myself, I would say the asam laksa is very authentic. This vlog brings back a lot of memories for me!
As visitors from USA, your wonderful video was our guide for our Blue Mountain visit. We even dropped by Mountain High Pies for dinner - delicious! Thanks again and keep up the awesome content!
2020 pie award winner! yum the curry pie and the chicken pie both looked really yum. Its interesting that you have to go to the country side to get good pies in Aussie. Blue mountains looks like a really nice spot especially since it is so close to Sydney. The mist makes everything more dramatic.
A bit of history. Back in the 1980’s as a child my family would regularly go to Young’s Chinese Restaurant which was in the exact shop that now houses Unique Patisserie. I recognised it from the pitched wood ceiling! I love the Lawson bowlo Chinese, the food is excellent. I’m so glad you guys went there.
Hey Guys, the video is so awesome. The video quality and resolution is superb. Can you please share which camera/gears you use for the video shoot. Thanks
Glad they tested the depth of that water before they jumped or dived in! Beautiful part of the world; need to make a trip out there one day. Thanks for sharing! Even the bloopers 😃👍
That Cocky looks like it stuck its head down a chimney! I don't mind Mountain High but I think Pie in the Sky at Bilpin or South Windsor Pies does a better job. Glenorie aren't bad either. One thing Mountain High do make that is very nice is the warm custard tart.
I remember Vincent from the Lawson bowling club- known for the good Chinese food. Vincent took over from his father around 5 yrs ago. I have to stop moving
Great video! Have you guys tried Five Guys in Penrith? So much hype about it. I live around the corner and its always busy. Also, Brothers Burgers opened in Penrith. Its a burger joint from the Phillipines I am excited to try.
Not yet - been wanting to try Five Guys, many people complain about the price, so keen to try it🤣 Ahh never heard of Brothers Burgers, we might go Penrith for all burgers then 😊
Classic switch up to start, well done Nick ;) Beef and curry in a pie is definitely not the first type of pie an American would think of, but something I'd love to try out!
I like that 80% of the video is covering the food and 20% is your hiking 😁 Talk about a good balance 🤣 Thanks for sharing these hidden gem cafes and restaurants! Will be very useful if we want to go to Blue Mountains again one day 👌🏻 Those country pies and bakery items are always the best things during road trip.
I have tried the those pies they are nice and Wentworth falls is beautiful ,The Malaysian food looks so yummy and Chinese looks so good I have to try that satay etc ..Great video and filming guys ..x🥰❤️
Omg , finally you tried out my suggestion, those were the exact pies 🥧 I ordered for myself and my hubby when we visited blue mountains . Guess what surprised me surprised 😲 !!! you are sitting on the same table we sat. Love you both 😍. Hope to do a vlog with you two soon.
We really appreciae when you don't have to trek so far from the car park for the view... just gotta make sure to get to those spots early to beat the crowd 😂
Love waterfalls and trekking, but as you know Lieles isnt a big fan of walking period 😂😂 That place is magical, totally see why you love it so much. Happy you guys got to travel there
@@nickandhelmi Cinta Rasa is good but for the Asam Laksa (per others because I prefer the curry laksa) try Malaysia Small Chilli. I haven’t been to either since “freedom day” but have frequented both regularly before. They are at the other end of Beamish from Albees (also good but prefer Small Chilli or Cinta Rasa).
Nick and Helmi you guys have such good appetite.... "We're full lets just order one more" proceeds to order two massive dishes and then gets 2 free dishes hahahahahaha I know that feeling guys. Man if only Nick jumped in the waterfall with his undies hahahahaha.
Oh sorry, Helmi you couldn't vote. But hey, Malaysian food 😍😀 Those noodles look so creamy and delish. Yes, let's not start a food war. We have plenty of examples of dishes that can be claimed by 2 or more countries, sometimes it's better just to enjoy all the versions. Helmi looks so happy eating that, I just want it!
You have to have the deep-fried ice cream!! Who says no to that?? Oh, we never had unlimited rice in NY Chinese restaurants hahaha, We would be twice our size if that was an option. Wow! Good for him and his 1M TikTok followers!
Nick, did you seek permission from Blue Mountains council for flying the drone or it's allowed? I have a mini 2 but still unsure til now if I can fly it in the mountains. Cheers.
You can fly in national park but you will need an approval if you fly it from the park itself. You can check open sky app for more info and yes you need permission from the park. Sometime i just fly from outside the national park area.
If you are an Australian citizen, you have to turn up at a polling booth and get your name ticked off (though you do not have to actually cast a vote while you are there). You will receive a letter asking you if you can explain why you didn't vote. If you respond to the letter, most likely you will not receive the fine. They are only usually sent to people who don't even bother. Explain what happened and you won't be fined. Thank you for the video. Have a really wonderful week!
Awwh that's a nice looking pie!! 😍 Some NZlanders might argue they have better ones 😜 They need better curries to impress the Asians, especially from Indonesia 😆
C'mon Nick you should have gotten in the waterfall. Next time get a towel in your car, just in case, you never know why you would need it for. Blue town? hahaha the smurfs are there!
@@nickandhelmi that sucks, was the first time council voting was avaiklable online. we voted early and told a friend who also told her coworkers and they just laughed at her saying she doesnt know what shes talking about

Oh man, we've been meaning to try an Aussie Pie spot here in Chicago. And now we have the motivation that we need. Looks so darn good.

Ooh looks like a nice weekend getaway you guys!! Those mountain pies are worth the drive!! Curry beef!!! 😍❤
it's good to see you going out!! after so long time without seeing some nice outdoors like this!
the drone is also happy to be flying again!! 😉
Absolutely, both hooman and drone are happy to be out again 😂
Haha come on Nick, back flip on in to the waterfall... gotta come prepared man!
My back will hate me after the flip lol 🤣
Carbs and hiking go hand in hand. We learned that the hard way. Haha And Chinese food sound like an amazing idea too. That Mongolian meat.... wow!!
As Malaysians, I'm very proud that you enjoyed a Malaysian foods
Of course its delicious!
all food in this episode looks great!! from those pies full of gravy to the mongolian beef!!
no fried ice cream for Helmi?!
Too full hahaha😅
I’m going to Katoomba in a few months. I like spicy food but my friend does not. What would recommend for both of us in the Unique Bakery?
Hi Nick and Helmi, have you checked out the Blue Mist Cafe [7/8 Station St, Wentworth Falls NSW 2782]? They are fantastic!
Oh not yet, will check out when we go back, thank you😊

Blue mountains, didn't you guys make a video about this place before?
Oh yes, pies first!
Yesss😊
If you want to get a good pie definitely need to check Woolies freezer aisle 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 ! 4 pies for less than $6 haha
Hahaa you know what we love pies from Herbert Adams - Coles/Woolies freezer 😁
If you have some extras, send some of that satay chikcen and mongolian beef over to us!

:D yes
So good 😊
Awesome love to go there ❤️
Gotta go 💕
The pies look amazing 😋 I love how they put chunks of meat in them! I find that most pies just have a lot of gravy and not much meat in them haha
Same here loll

Sooo true LOL
Where’s the sauce?
LOL I think Indonesian or Malaysian, just as long the food is great, that's all that matters 😋
THATS MY DAD’S SHOP OMG
Which one😄
The short one😔😂
The guy in the green shirt
Please don't go to the Yellow Delli opposite Aldi on the corner - they are a cult- I nearly got hooked in
I've never had a chicken pie that's tender..... as i believe most recipes use breast meat... so since high school, never bought a chicken pie...
Haha let's stick with beef or lamb😅
Your excuse is the website crashed which it did
Hahah it did actually ! We tried the ivote
