    Do you enjoy this type of content outside? Have you used or plan on using the XF70-300mm?

      This was a great video man - and yes, I've been thinking of getting this lens instead of the 100-400 which is just a little too big for me!

      Loved the pictures. I was planning on getting this lens when it goes on sale, but with how things are going I wouldn't be surprised if it goes up in price. 😄

      J'hésite bcp entre lui et le 55 200, il est quand même plus lumineux et 70mm pour commencer c'est quand même serré. Je ne parviens pas à me décider 😅

      Thank you for watching! You should definitely rent it and give it a try. It is not perfect but it is honestly more than enough to produce quality pictures!

      Personnellement j’utilise très peu la plage 50-70mm et le 16-55 est suffisant. Ca dépend vraiment du kit que tu as. Le 55-200 eat pas mal non plus mais je pense que le 70-300 est un meilleur investissement

    It’s been back ordered for over 6 months in the US, I placed order over a month and still waiting for it.
    Must be a great seller lens.

    I enjoyed this one. I’m debating between this and the 50-140 now, but leaning to the 70-300.
    So far I have the 16-55 f/2.8, 35 f/1.4, and the 10-24 f/4 II. The concern is the lack of focal lengths between 55 and 70.

    Awesome video, agree with all you stated. It's an amazing and useful lens.
    Just curious if you noticed that when zooming in video, it loses focus until you stop zooming? It happens to mine in all ranges. So when recording a video, I have to avoid changing the zoom... Same with my fuji 16-80 f/4.
    I didn't experience this back with my older sony zooms, even the kit zoom.

    • @ThierryGibralta
      @ThierryGibralta  2 роки тому +1

      It is pretty much the same behavior, you loose focus when you change focal length, especially at the long end. Not a big deal for me as I tend not to zoom/unzoom when recording but it can happen

    After using this lens for over three months on the X-T4 I'm extremely satisfied with it's performance, I've been considering getting the 1.4 teleconverter but I have some doubts, you mentioned sacrificing auto focus and light, I'm not very concerned about the low light issue since I shoot mostly between f/5.6 and f/8 but I am concerned about an auto focus issue, I would appreciate it if you could elaborate a little more on the subject. Be well and stay safe.

    • @ThierryGibralta
      @ThierryGibralta  2 роки тому +2

      Sure. When using a teleconverter, because you are losing light transmitter to the sensor, the auto-focus mechanism will have less information to work with, which could make it hunt a bit more.

    • @davidsuurland3146

      I use the 1.4x and yes indeed, autofocus is less than ideal.

    Great honest and concise video and like the outdoor setting. This is a great lens. I have the 16 1.4 (debating on replacing with the 18 1.4) and the 33 1.4. Great combo and the 70-300 compliments nicely to grab some detail shots.

      No, the only thing you can lock is the zoom ring when at minimum focal length

    Does your lens make noise when you pan it? Mine does and I find it rather loud. The sound is picked up by my camera making video's with the raw sound unusable.

    • @ThierryGibralta
      @ThierryGibralta  2 роки тому

      I do not have that noise when panning the lens.

    • @ThierryGibralta
      @ThierryGibralta  2 роки тому +1

      I don’t use film simulation. All the pictures you see are edited in Capture One. However I usually start from a Classic Chrome or a Provia profile to edit

    • @ThierryGibralta
      @ThierryGibralta  2 роки тому

      For travel Yes
      For wedding, I am not sure because you might lack light in some situations, I would go for something like the 90mmf2 or the 50-140 for this kind of event
