  • Today what I bring you is an automatic fire light that turns on at night and off during the day automiatically!
    It's pretty small and easy to build so I hope that you like it! Also it is a very simple circuit and see no reason why this will not work in any future updates.
    P.s. Remember to use a dispenser not a dropper!

    I apologise for my recent absence, I've been a little demotivated and have had a lot of work, hence I haven't been playing very much let alone recording! I hope to bring you guys videos more regularly than of recent times!

    This would look really nice set up around the upper walls of a castle in recessed notches or in a tower with four of them mounted in a ring. Nice simple design, thanks for sharing!

    Thats cool :-) Could you also use a subtracting comparator to control the time of day it activates?

      That's a great idea actually I was thinking of just putting the sensor further away but that makes a lot more sense!

    I wanted to make something like this for a castle build, with automatically lighting fire podiums. My first idea was to have fire charges light it, and then water buckets put it out. Spent about an hour looking into like, pulse circuits and observers.
    Can’t believe I forgot flint and steel can be used by a dispenser XD and this way I don’t need a whole separate system for water buckets. Nice and simple, and compact to boot.

    Thanks! Even if its only mostly hidden, as in, it can be used a few blocks off the floor flush with the wall. I am literally just a dummy basking in your redstonyness! I know the basics but anything i even imagine would be stupidly and unnecessarily big. Thanks!

    my problem with daylight sensor lighting is that the daylight sensor doesn't turn off until light levels reach 3 but mobs will start spawning at 7, something like this needs an offset for it to be practicle

    • @Minecraftwithdummies
      @Minecraftwithdummies  10 років тому

      For practicality, move the daylight sensor on to the other side and move it three blocks away so the restone line is 3 long. This should solve the problem :-)

    I would totally use this in my faction, but the nether there is super screwed up...

  • @rusinsr

    Doesn't the daylight sensor give a redstone signal of 0 only at precisely midnight? So it would still be off, while mobs are spawning...

    • @Minecraftwithdummies
      @Minecraftwithdummies  10 років тому +3

      It's more of an aesthetic thing to be honest, not really meant to protect from mobs. If you wanted to combat this though simply move the sensor to the other side and extend the redstone signal a few blocks a way :-)

  • @adamcowan391
    @adamcowan391 10 років тому

    Could you make it hidden from the front? I mean without making it too much bigger :p

      It's very hard as dispensers can't be pushed by pistons so I'm not too sure. I'll look in to it though!

    I subscribed. Am I a dummy now?

  • @loganoneal1980

    I don't understand how that torch is powering the piston.

    • @MCLordSpectrum
      @MCLordSpectrum 10 років тому

      The daylight sensor sends out a signal to the redstone on top of the block, that redstone is Turing the torch off, not doing anything to the piston. She night comes, the daylight sensor doesn't give off a signal, so the torch is on, powering the piston and the dispenser

    • @loganoneal1980
      @loganoneal1980 10 років тому

      Lord Spectrum I understand that, but the torch isn't touching the piston.

    • @MCLordSpectrum
      @MCLordSpectrum 10 років тому

      It's right above it. I don't know how else to say but the torch is powering the non existent block above the piston therefore powering the piston

    • @Minecraftwithdummies
      @Minecraftwithdummies  10 років тому

      Basically the torch gives power to the space below the torch which power the piston if that makes sense.

      I never know torches could power air.

    Do something big please. I know your a busy guy, but all of your tutorials are very small. I feel like you're running out of idea's.

      I've already got a couple of videos ready for the next few weeks, one which is small and one that is slightly bigger however I have been looking for a big project to work on, but like you said finding a big project that people will like is tough. I've had a few ideas that I've pursued but have been fruitless in giving a final product sadly.
