  • U.S. Navy nuclear submarines USS Hartford (SSN 768) and USS Connecticut (SSN 22) surfacing in the Arctic Ocean for Ice Exercise (ICEX).
During ICEX, Navy submarines would conduct Arctic transits in which they would surface and break the ice (usually 60-90 cm or 2-3 feet thick), collect data, and run other training exercise to gain experience working in the Arctic.

На этом видео толщина льда около 0,5 метра.
    Разница ощутимая.
Тем более с поверхности льда их подстраховала целая команда аппаратной поддержки.

It is reasonable to interpret the North's nuclear submarine as meaning an SSB equipped with nuclear warheads and ballistic missiles, and as North Korea's official announcement has always been, it is confusing its opponents with vague expressions and falsehoods.
However, it seems true that efforts are being made to increase the weight and range of ballistic missiles mounted on SSBs and to increase the quietness of the platform, and even conventional submarines, North Korea's strength in ballistic missiles, including South Korea, is not satisfactory. It is also true that the ultimate counter for this is a nuclear submarine.

Three Russian nuclear submarines simultaneously surfaced in the Arctic ice
Three nuclear submarines surfaced in a limited area with a radius of 300 meters, breaking through one and a half meters of ice. Before surfacing, one of the submarines conducted a practical torpedo firing, after which the torpedo was lifted to the surface through a specially made sagebrush.
