  • Part 10 of my build up of the 1/350 Polar Lights USS Enterprise from Star Trek the Original Series.
This video covers the weathering decals available from Polar Lights/Round2.
This kit is very accurate to the original studio model and I will be building this kit as the regular production version from the show. At 1/350 scale this kit is huge.
I will be using the Deluxe Accessory Set available from Round2 that has weathering decals, clear parts for lighting the model, a brass detailed photo etch set, and a full lighting package with LEDs that will light the kit like the studio model. The kit even includes little motors to animate the bussard fans on the warp nacelles.

I have to say even following the directions to the letter I have had a bad expearance with the weathering decals. Worst silvering I have ever had to deal with. I have made it work but probably would have been better off to air brush it.

Jerry, How much time did this build take you? I ask because I need to get one built up before August 15th, still need to buy the Deluxe Ass. Kit as well as the Kit itself. Being retired, I have 7 days a week to work on it, and with all the help i get from your build up, it will save me a lot of time in testing various lighting etc. I think I can get it done if I purchase everything quickly.

I think I responded on this already. Thought I did. Anyway, for me time is limited so it seems it takes forever to get something complete given the business and the jobs. I know that my friend Boyd, a.k.a. Trekworks, can get one of these done in just a few weeks. I know he can do it in three to six weeks if everything comes together for him.
