That’s awesome. I remember doing my Winter Germans that way. Andy Zeck posted a tutorial where you primed them in Stormvermin Fir and then I think it was Athenian Camoshade and the coats looked amazing. Your tutorials are amazing. I could watch them all day long.
Big fan of this approach now. Got myself a load of different colour rattle cans so I can sub assembly to speed it up even more. I usually spend a bit more time on Bases and Faces and then they look great
Dang, I wish this had existed before I started my Grim Guard army. This is way better looking than the speedpaint technique I've been using 😮 Well, there's always next time around 😂
Superb. Coloured priming is THE first and best tip for army painting. Second is the complimentary lighter shade drybrush. Faster and better looking than slap chop IMO. Could save even more time with just doing a single wash but it's already pretty quick. To make it super quick I'd do the whole gun silver and wash with black or very dark speed paint. I'd also only have one colour (black or brown) for the leather bits. The white face mask is enough of a feature colour to make the scheme pop. If that wasn't possible on the mini then a coloured shoulder pad or something similar would do the trick.
Yeah, I'm still not sure on why so many insist that slapchop or even just regular Contrast/Speedpaint/Xpress are 'faster.' It depends on what you're doing by a pretty wide margin! Napoleonics, sure, that stuff's magic... but for plenty of stuff you can't beat Colour Inna Can!
@@SonicSledgehammerStudio that's it mate! And even if you are anal about colour get an airbrush. For base coating and zenithal it takes next to no skill and will give a close enough result. As long as we are honest about the standard we want from painting technique is essentially irrelevant.
This was a great tutorial and you gave me a lot of ideas for my 10 mm armor models! Do you think the Citadel Athonian Camo Shade would work for the Death Guard Green sprayed figure or would the Sonic Tonic work best? Thanks for sharing this.
For armour, I'd probably go with Athonian Camo Shade instead. It's a nice, slightly yellow/olive green that works beautifully over Death Guard Green. Sonic Tonic's good if you're looking to do everything all in one wash for the most part, but yeah, the little guys I'd use green instead.
This is a conceptual approach to painting that really resonates!
All your videos are excellent, but this might be one of my favorites. This is a wonderful method. Thank you so much for sharing it.
Hey Sonic , thank you man , first for you entertaining videos , and second , Im about to start a Krieg army and didnt know how I would paint them .
Nice to have you back. Another really effective tutorial to get great army results quickly🍻

This is a nice guide for a squad.
Have a look for 'Tiny Legends.' They prefer not to have their stuff linked directly, so a quick Google will point you in the right direction!
@@SonicSledgehammerStudio cheers for the hint. Somehow I missed it in your video 😅
But those minis really look nice
