- With the help of a new strat (gluon drive bridge skip in Distant Spring), I've achieved the first sub 50! Special thanks to TRR, Noamoa, and ice_cube for their for contributions to the route. This was played on Wii version.

To think I feel a sense of accomplishment when bringing back three parts in a day, but you cleared out entire areas in record time. I can't even imagine how long it must have taken to perfect your methods/strategies to the point where all that was possible. BRAVO!!!
I beat the game in 22 days with all parts and thought I was hot shit. This is just insanity. Seriously impressive.
@@Claego I beat it in 26 days but I know I spent like 3 days rebuilding after some bloody battles, one of which being losing my entire force to the final boss, which still stings...
@@zegreatpumpkinani9161 Such is life. What an interesting message for a young me to learn about death and loss when this came out on the Gamecube. Good memories though :)
@@zegreatpumpkinani9161 the final trial to this day still has the highest pikmin body count in all of my play throughs of 1, 2, and 3 (haven’t finished 4 yet)
I really love how little glitches this appears to use. It's mostly just highly efficient gameplay.
he had to have been using some kind of glitch to make the enemies not attack while the pikman are carrying parts. in the forest of hope he didnt kill any of the enemies sleeping and in my experience pikman carrying parts will run into those all the time and wake them up. Also the blowfish should have attacked the pikman in distant spring, but didnt. Also, theres no way he could have thrown the blue and red pikman as far as he did in some instances
@@mushitay2024 I believe those are just Wii version changes

@@diebydeath that's a thing Pikmin 2 has. Never watched a pkmn speedrun before. Impressed that you can do every area in one day each!
@Tom Schwartzmans well yeah technically. I was more so impressed with all the other areas with a ton of parts, wasn't thinking about impact site.
@@ConnorLinley no hate or something but PKMN is short for Pokémon 😄
@@shinypichu1819 disagree but can't argue it as Pokémon did technically come out first. Pkmn will always make me think of Pikmin before Pokémon based on my gaming history.
Friend group was talking about Pikmin 4 and the topic came to the speedruns of the first game. It's crazy that this is still the world record after just over 3 years. Absolutely well done.
im here from Terminals video to see how accurate it is.
Nintendo: You need at least 12 days to beat this game with all the parts!
Speedruners: There’s 6 actually.
Olimar: *Returns to Hocotate after being gone less than a week
Well I assume they mean Glitchless. We all know Speedrunners aren't real humans.
The throw distances on the wii compared to the Gamecube are freaking cheating, im so salty lol. Unless im dumb and missed a way to further extend the throw distance on gamecube...
technically you can increase the throw range by walking, and stopping just after you throw, but it would be nowhere as efficient or safe
Just launch the yellows everywhere
the throw is the same in the wii version, but your whistle distance is absurdly longer in wii. its because of the motion controls.
not to mention that you had to wait for a pikmin to knock down a flower and then always throw another to actually pick it up
@@PaintGuru24 i could be wrong but I don't think the GC version let you come close to yeeting those yellow pikmin across the water onto the bridge on the last level

I love how the 100% world record for this game, is shorter than the 100% world record for the DEMO of Pikmin 4. Pikmin 4 is looking to be MASSIVE.
Well I’m pretty sure that is now no longer true
As far as I rember to 100% the demo you just needed to 100% the begin map wich can be done in under 49 min atleast I think
Does absolutely blows my mind especially the forest Nabel. As a kid I was terrified of this level
Distant spring scared the shit out of me as a kid lol
@@felipudding2177 in Distant Spring that egg that I cracked that turned into a frog demon traumatized me at 7
Bruh at that age what really scared me and would have should have scared you guys was Majora's mask not this this wasn't scary at all
imagine being those last pikmin. one who drowned, and two who are just doomed inside a plant... poor souls
Unrelated but when I first killed the bulblax i felt so proud of the pikmin, i only gave orders, they carried all the weight and when I saw they could finally handle themselves i felt satisfied in a parent sort of way.
Personally i got worried when i left, the comment in pikmin 3 about the blues almost going extinct bothered me
“My babies are all grown up and committing genocide…🥲”
"they grow up so fast, dont they?"
You know what I miss in Pikmin 3? Being able to punch stuff effectively. Felt really good in 2 to be able to take out some traps and smaller Pikmin devouring enemies without the risk to your Pikmin.
And now there's dog.
I watched day 2 with my jaw unable to reset from the floor
I've watched this through repeatedly and still can't work out where all those blue pikmin come from on the Forest Naval! You're physically doing things quicker than my brain can process them.
remember how he drowned pikmin in the pools.
@@guantofroglol6511 Yeah, I saw he was about to go for the blue onion and I was thinking, “Damn, he’s really close to the Pikmin limit. How is he gonna get the blue Pikmin he needs?”
And then he proceeded to drown his yellow Pikmin. I honestly was not expecting it, lol.
this truly showing pikmin's RTS roots
"roots"
I used to love playing this game, even though the post-apocalyptic Earth vibe was creepy. Your techniques are awesome. Pushing parts without assigning the pikmin to them, distracting the big enemies with 1 pikmin out of range, pushing 2 parts into the ship at the same time to skip animations, reaching pikmin cap to avoid having to pluck the new ones, then of course, defeating the final boss so quickly just losing 2 yellows
@William Widjaja The post-apocalyptic Earth vibe was one of my favorite parts, TBH. Disappointed that the sequels sort of nerfed it.
@@MalcolmMcCrimmon how did they nerf it?
@@nolife5268 The first game had the odd reminants of humanity left, mostly things that wouldn't biodigrade in a few hundred years (for example the glass bottle in Forest Navel). But it wasn't very common to see such things, another example would be that the Distant Spring is made up of lots of pieces of stone that look like they're machine carved for some purpose but they're completely grown over with moss now. In the following games it's almost like you've gone BACK in time since there's things like paper bags that would only take a few weeks to biodigrade, snowmen that would melt in the summer, etc. It's a very small aspect of the game and isn't really noticeable but it does affect the overall atmosphere, and Pikmin 1 just had a darker feel partially due to this. The other games are still great though and I probably wouldn't change them at all, but Malcolm is right imo.
@@USERWASBANNED thanks for pointing that out I guess I never rlly thought about it Malcolm was right.
@No Life ^^^What they said. Also: unspoiled fruit and produce, rust-free shower/bath areas with running water, much more specific artifacts (compare a tube of Mario-branded paint or an accurate globe of the Earth to rusted-out pipes or a cardboard box with only the number 10 on it), etc. In short, they killed the mystery while somehow making things more confusing at the same time. (Like, if humans are still around or disappeared only recently, how come the plants and animals are so different? But if humans disappeared a long time ago or if it’s a truly alien planet, why are there so many recent and unambiguous signs of human presence?)
How is speed running a whole game shorter than speed running a demo💀💀💀(pikmin 4 demo)
I'm here for the TerminalMontage video.
Looking forward to seeing this. Keep doing great pikmin runs!
You have good Dandori
Woah a recent pikmin speedrun! Nice going dude
This is a fun speedrun to watch. Pikmin is one of my favorites.
Pikmin 1's ending is my favorite
The music is just perfect to make you miss the pikmin, and finaly seeing the dolphin back in one peice flying through the sky like in the intro is such a great sight
While the other 2 games have better gameplay and are bigger
I love pikmin 1 for its atmostsphere of being on this incredible planet while being shipwrecked, and the music really helps with that
I never said I dissliked the others, I like the ending in all of them, I always feel a sense of acomplishment and saying goodbye to the pikmin still makes me slightly sad to this day.
I also love the enemy designs the most in this game, theyre probably the most fair and simple in the series, but they still can be troublesome to handle, also this game is much "softer" looking than the others, I like that

JHawk4: "Time to Spare!"
Wii is a different category from gc right? Cuz surely the ability to whistle from any distance makes a difference
Also increased throwing distances
@@Boohnaa And faster/more precise aiming
There are diffrent leaderboards for both yes but there is also one comparing both consoles!
Also the swapping held pikmin that he used to teleport pikmin up ledges was introduced in pikmin 2 and kept in the wii port, the original had much more limited controls. Which i consider to be part if the challenge and fun, also JESUS this run is crazy compared to what i can do as a casual who loves the relaxed pace of pikmin 2 (death to Waterwraiths).
54:31 is the GC wr while 49:49 is the Wii wr
It's absolutely insane how a 100% speedrun of the Pikmin 4 demo takes longer than a 100% speedrun of the whole Pikmin game
Cutscenes. Which this game hardly has or just get skipped. Also just being a very short game in general. Because it's on the gc/wii.
I’m the mvp, obviously
the red pikmin did a lot too, since they do more damage than the other types
@Harrison Bell They did work on the mushroom tho.
I respect the reds beating the shit out of Beady long legs
@Harrison Bell Fewer uses does not equate to useless.
This was absolutely incredible to watch. I used to think I was good at Pikmin. Not anymore!
You ant? You could be #1 of you wont hard enouth but you got other runners to deal with and me as i want this WR one day tho
TerminalMontage enlightened me on this golden experience
It’s crazy how more optimized the Pikmin games can get. I can see that there is still a lot to go for a perfect run!
is it just me, or did anyone else wish that the bottle (probably a Ramune bottle seeing as it has the marble in it) at 30:00 became a Pikmin 2 treasure?
it was kinda cool seeing a similar bottle to it return in the pikmin movie shorts.
It is a Ramune bottle.
Like if you think the smokey progg should be the distant spring boss
As someone who has only played this casually and never truly in a speedrun fashion, it was amazing to see how all areas could be done in a single day, except for the required double trip to the Impact Site on the Wii. Good job.
JHawk stuck on an alien planet: OH NO! Anyways...
It's pretty impressive it's possible to collect every part in a section, in only 1 day

The first Pikmin is for me the best od the series. It was simple, you felt alone and isolated like Olimar, the nature was overwhelming... The other games don't make me feel like that.

Olimar: How much suffering must I witness before I can go home?
Also Olimar: Hey guys I cant leave without my piggy bank, can you kill this dangerous bulbar?
SO TRUEEEE
I think this might give me a good retrospect for TerminalM's new video
Damn I thought my 19 day run was decent, but this is just insanely good.
My best is 12 days
9 days for me wii version allows a lot more to be done because of the longer range its worth it and more if you learn the tricks its amazing
The Wii mote makes things a lot easier. Olimar can’t throw nearly as far in the GameCube version. But still this is insanely impressive
And in this timeline: Olimar really wants to see his family
Noob question, how is he throwing them that far? I'm attempting to get the Sagittarius on day 2, but can't figure out how he's throwing the Pikmin clear across the pond like that.
i wonder too. maybe it's due to it being the wii version? or it's because they were flower pikmin? not sure
It took this dude a single day on the first real location to do what took maybe 3-4 days and a repeat visit for myself. Speedrunners are a different breed of human.
Every map is a giant puzzle with efficient ways to move pikmin at the perfect time. Insane
The number of simultaneous levels on which you are operating . . . This is 5-D chess, right here.
8:00 "Everybody do the flop!"
Who else is here because TerminalMontage made them curious?
it is nuts how much you get accomplished in a day. ive finished the game in maybe 15-20 days before and i felt like i was going quick.
This guys Dandori is insane!
This is insane. Excellent run, man
There was a moment where he killed off 2 pikmin in 25:02 do you guys know why he did that? Or was it unintentional?

Squad B: collect food
Squad C: tear these bridges down
Sacrificial pikmin: stand here, here annd here
Sacrificial pikmin: on it boss, wait.. what sacri what now?
While I wait for deluxe, I’ll watch this
I hope TerminalMontage sees this
Viva levierre
man, the wii version of the game is so much easier to cheese due to the longer whistle and throw range
It's weird watching a game with a lot of text being speed-ran in English...
But yeah, cool stuff. :3
Loved the speedrun. One thing I was reminded of, and I'm hoping for in future installments of the Pikmin series, was the serious durability/danger of monsters in Pikmin 1. I remember being a kid and fearfully preparing for snagrets and red/black spotted bulborb battles because they could be brutal to kill, lol. It felt like Nintendo shied away from the monsters having serious lethality in Pikmin 3 in comparison to Pikmin 1 ... well, than the first two games really.
I wish they would port these to the Switch! Why did we get The No More Heroes porter abd not PIKMIN!?
Congrats dude! I was working my way slowly on this game but now this gives me some more space to run. GG

Olimar's Wife: "The kids will be at summer camp."
Olimar:
Now this is Dandori!
Does the GC version have any advantages? Watching this the Wii seems SO much better for optimal movement and precision, I'm surprised second place is GameCube
the forest of hope is where pikmin become pikmen
Stream more! I've been checking your twitch everyday the past 5 days and you havent streamed!
When Olimar is late for his daughter birthday party:
dang! me as a kid playing this on gamecube, I could only ever optimize to 9 days. I had no idea you could get the part across the pond in forest of hope without blue pikmin. Unfortunately I can tell quickly that this game HAS to be spedrun on wii, so I don't think I'm ever going to be able to learn it XD
Incredibly impressive… What’s happening at 22:11 where the yellow Pikmin with bombs simply warp back to where Captain Olimar is? I know quite a bit about the GameCube version so I’m guessing it’s a Wii-exclusive glitch
when you throw it snaps the nearest pikmin in your party into your hand, i guess he's just at the absolute edge of the range to allow for that
Wife: Honey come home
Olimar: I can't I'm stuck on an alien planet
Wife: The kids aren't home
Olimar:
"Here's the sitch. Uninhabited planet; no resources, no supplies, no apparent way home...
A lesser man would die here."
*"I'll be home by Christmas."*
8:01 Why is Olimar jumping around? I thought that he can't jump.
Lmao he’s spamming the rest button while immediately getting up each time. Keeping his hands warm/entertaining is I assume
How are you picking up the bomb pikmin when they are stuck at the bottom of a cliff? also are any of these strats Wii only, or do they work on gamecube as well?
I'm fairly certain that the box pushing segment in FOH is Wii exclusive, but having said that, I'm not particularly familiar with the Gamecube version. (having not played it).
Well done. Your Dandori is unmatched. The Leaflings would be proud.
