🔎 About socials:
If I tag socials, then this should be done for ALL players (without a single exception), and not just for one person. Socials of some players can not be found (players with default nicknames, some Asian players, etc). I am convinced that it's extremely dishonest to tag contacts of few people and not to tag all the rest, so there will be no social links in description.
But I respect the players whose matches I post. Therefore, if you are sure that videos presented "as is" are not acceptable, I will stop posting content with your participation and remove the ones posted earlier.

I'm going to assume that these matches were either before, or after the last time they've streamed; because Gobou was using color #1 as A.B.A, and he had mentioned during his stream that he was in a hurry to select another character/de-select Asuka...
Moreover, I'm excited to see what he will bring to this year's ArcRevo Japan - watching Gobou's performance at tournaments always has me on the edge of my seat.

ABA gameplay was pure hate
I tend to forget that elphelt can be actually stylish since the most optimal way to play her is to spam projectiles and then the rekka when the enemy gets close

9:44 can someone explain to me how that second overhead connects?
i'm fairly new to ggst and have made my way up to floor 9 with ABA but still don't know how certain things in the game work.
for that second overhead to land, the elphelt would have to either low block or stop blocking and try to attack right? when I try to lab that sequence vs a crouching dummy, the second overhead always whiffs. but i'm assuming the elphelt didn't try to attack because it wasn't a counter hit either, so what's going on with that block sequence that makes it work? I don't understand.
When you block an attack standing and switch block to low, your character remains standing until blockstun is over. Some characters can use this in their pressure to double overhead you and make you block both of them, which is what Gobou did here. A.B.A's j.S get's blocked, forcing Elphelt into blockstun, and then when Elphelt switches to low guard, she remains standing, and takes the j.H. It's called Offensive Fuzzy Guard or F-Shiki if you want to look into it more. It's an important part of some character's pressure because it lets you do extended overhead strings.
You're failing it in lab because you're trying it versus a crouching dummy, and for f-shiki to work, it needs to connect standing. Set the dummy to block standing and guard switch after first hit, or if you can, get someone else to help you lab it.

Yeah, it does, especially if it's read. You can do a lot against it, as an Elphelt main I get bodied if I'm not careful
Iirc it’s not a huge gap, but still not airtight. Most follow ups with frame trap you, but since super is invincible it doesn’t matter.
If you block correctly or just assume she'll reset the rekka, you can absolutely halt her offense and then she can get bodied. As someone who also mains Elphelt, a lot of characters can counter her rekka than you might think.
