This year has certainly been bittersweet with the rise of corrupted journalism, to video game devs acknowledging their unfinished products. It's certainly been the most memorable year I've had since 2011, and I look forward to see what will happen this year
You're the best. Just wanted to say that I discovered your channel almost immediately only fairly recently, and your videos have been a huge inspiration to me, so thanks.
2015 is also the year we were given Steam refunds, which gave over 100 million PC gamers just that much more power over gaming companies. The kind of precedent it sets really can't be understated.
+Tasty Bread Origin doesn't have anywhere near the same scope or impact, and from what I can tell only a select few 1st party games are eligible for refunds there. Steam refunding works on the entire store catalog, no questions asked. So, no they're not really comparable.
+Malazan27 It's a credit to this year though that it didn't. A solid game but far from groundbreaking, not even a universal favorite for CRPG fans. A good game of a rare type, but rare doesn't make it great.
I feel ya. Very, very few open world games can keep my intrest, but I can't put Xenoblade down. It's one of the most utterly fantastic games I've played in a long time.
+Travey Duck I was about to post the same. It feels like most indepentent reviewers were afraid or too busy to tackle such a large game. I'm 160 hours in and almost 40% of the game left to go.
+MagicAccent lol yes, origins has an actual hub world, doesn't have murphy sections, more levels, less filler and it has a higher and smoother difficulty curve.
+Lavos YT A game without the devs, and a re-release. Don't get me wrong, I love Dragon's Dogma, but re-releases shouldn't set your bar for a year being good.
+Lavos YT me too man i missed out on DD because i can't use ps3controllers and i haven't found a souls game i didn't put 200+ hours into :) it's gonna git gud
***** A game without the devs? ...Okay... Nah I was just saying that cause I know these are games I know I'm gonna spend a ton of time playing, it's of course subjective.
I meant DS3. Most of them left for bloodborne. It's gonna definitely be different than the prior souls, but it looks like it may be leaning towards worse different than better different.
That is an amazing point. Back during the PS1 era, what did I think games were going to be like 15 years from then? The Witcher 3, for me, was one of the few titles that feels like it took advantage of modern technology. It's a game that couldn't exist 5 years ago
While it has it's not so clever moments, for a bunch of french guys making a game about a west coast college it's pretty good. Imagine a US developer making a game taking place in a little french town.
Looking back, I did not realise just how great of a year 2015 was for gaming. I mean, fucking Undertale and Bloodborne were released between the span of a few months! Not to mention all the other genre defining games that came out.
2016 looks even better George >Deus Ex Mankind Divided >Street Fighter 5 >Final Fantasy XV >Dishonored 2 >Persona 5 >Gravity Rush 2 >The Last Guardian >Uncharted 4 >Mass Effect Andromeda >Horizon Zero Dawn >Dark Souls 3 >Mirror's Edge Catalyst >Ghost Recon Wildlands >The Witness >Cuphead >Tacoma >Danganronpa 3 >Zero Time Dilemma >ReCore >Nier Automata >Ghost Recon Wildlands >New 3D Zelda God damn, just look at that line up.
The year voice actors got respect. Troy Baker:If you want to become a voice actor, the process is quite simple.Step 1,buy a decent microphone.Step 2,save all your money.Step 3,wait for Nolan North and i to die. Well, probably they got too much respect.
This is the best "list" or "2015 review" ive seen about any media. Seriously awesome job, you can see u put a ton of hard work and its much appreciated. Its also written fantasticaly. And I would realy like to see u review just cause 3
Good list George. There's something truly special about the Witcher 3 in how you care about the story, the npcs and how it immerses you in the world. CD Project Red, take a bow.
+Julin Terry Same here. ...Well, tied with Undertale. As an entire, standard game product, Bloodborne's definitely better (to say nothing of the hours I've clocked on the thing in a single playthrough alone), but Undertale's story absolutely floors me, and it's metafictional writing is on a level I haven't seen since Metal Gear Solid 2. But seriously, Bloodborne's practically ruined me for every game that ISN'T Undertale. And I know which one I'll STILL being playing by the end of 2016.
I'm quite happy to see that totally legit game of the year pick. After being thoroughly impressed by your videos on the series, I picked Witcher 1 and 2 up off of my forgotten-Steam-games-I-bought-on-sale library and gave them a once through. Very interesting experience. I'm going through Wild Hunt now on my PS4 and am just in love with it. Especially Gwent. Dear god, what a side-game. 2015 marked the year I became totally addicted to your channel, too.
Great video! Just one comment though: You mentioned The Witcher 3 has no sore spots, and while it was my game of the year as well, the one sore spot for me was the last third and the central antagonist. Someone on the CDPR forums actually counted that Eredin only had 12 lines in the entire game, and I think that many found the Wild Hunt to be disappointing as antagonists. As much as I love the game, I feel this is the one flaw it has.
+TheDeuXEffect Same problem here, but they did a good job addressing it in the expansion (the Man of Glass was way more interesting than Eredin and was given more on-screen time)
I actually laughed out loud at that opening. You make some excellent content George, by far my favorite youtuber. It's really great to see some positivity.
+yosup7400 It's suffering from ''Wii-U exclusive'' syndrome. Monster Hunter 4 was another excellent game of the year candidate for me, and it too suffers from not being on PS4/Xbone/PC/Anything else than 3DS.
2016 has Dark Souls 3, Street Fighter V, Persona 5, Final Fantasy XV, Fire Emblem Fates, Dishonored 2, Zelda Wii U, Star Fox Zero, The Last Guardian, Mass Effect, Mirrors Edge Catalyst, No Mans Sky, Uncharted 4, Deus Ex, Far Cry Primal, The Division, Scalebound. Some of those will probably turn out good, pretty stacked year imo.
i never forgot your face. always quality content, great presenter and writer. i saw the playstation channels "reviews" last night, and granted they are for a young audience , seeing the sales man reading a scrip to the left off camera while putting energy into his voice, was unpleasently grating. a face you could punch until his glasses fused with skull.
Man 2016 has been such a letdown after last year. 2017 is looking good though, a lot of which is because some of the best stuff that was supposed to come out this year was pushed back to next.
Not to bring the mood down but this is a story I have to get off my chest. I remember being so hyped for The Order: 1886. I loved it's setting and concept. I was so hyped for that game I betrayed my own morals. When E3 previews of that were saying "it's just an average cover shooter," I was personally offended. So much so that I posted a comment on one or two game sites saying that they were wrong. I hate when people do that and I should've known better. It didn't stop there. When there were rumors about the game being downgraded, I tried to point out that they were false and tried to disprove them. This was probably the dumbest thing I've ever done on social media. The weird thing is that I never ended up playing it. I went through all that embarrassment and I didn't even play it out of curiosity. But you know, I'm kind of glad I went through that; I've learned my lesson about hype. I have no ill will towards the devs of The Order, Ready at Dawn. In fact I actually hope fulfill the promise of making a decent action horror game. I just now know that I must not be hyped for any game and to be prepared for disappointment.
+Fresh Tendrils I did the same with Halo 5 going to have the best Story in the series. Turned out to be the worst story in the series and having little to no Replayability not like the other Halo games. Expecting some great confrontation between Lock and Chief about following orders, having morals and questioning your government? no it was a misunderstanding and the fight was just a boring cutscene.
For the relatively small amount of talk about Undertale in this video that I bet most of us expected to see, the fact that it seems the only music on this video was almost entirely Undertale remixes is quite the testament to your enjoyment and appreciation of it.
I thought that as a mostly Nintendo gamer (and PC) 2015 was even worse than 2014. Not helping was the charming CEO unfortunately passing away. Although looking at this video, there's still plenty of games I haven't played. They were definitely surprises like MGSV being busted, Rainbow Six: Siege and Until Dawn not being terrible, Splatoon selling incredibly well in Japan, and Undertale coming out of basically nowhere.
He did a lot for the industry, but his death is kinda good for Nintendo.I hate to say that, considering how essential he was to the gaming industry. But before he died, he was out of touch. He was living in the 70s and 80s and couldn't get with the times.
Sony Pony Gaming You do know Nintendo was recovering even while he was alive, and all the well-received initiatives they've had were orchestrated by him? How was he out of touch? He made Nintendo the biggest they ever were during the Wii/DS era which Yamauchi barely had a part in creating.
ew275x The Wii was a terrible, casual console. Sure, it's initial sales were great, but it collected dust in the later years. Nintendo has a stranglehold on all handhelds, so I will give you that. But you cherrypicked your points. Don't forget about the ridiculously shitty sales of the Wii U. That's 2 consoles that failed in the long run in a row.
Sony Pony Gaming What am I cherry picking? The height of the sales of the Wii were during 2009/2010 (when the console was released during the end of 2006). Even if you personally hate the console (it is my least favorite Nintendo console after the Wii U), facts are: -It wasn't sold at a loss, so more money in the long run. -Nintendo pushed a lot of software, which while it wasn't their greatest did make solid entries in their franchises. -It outsold the NES, SNES, N64, and GC. It was what Nintendo needed at the time and it worked as great business. I do think many of the Wii U's mistakes were due to them sticking to close to the Wii's philosophy and being wishy washy about it being casual or hardcore. Still Iwata did lead 4 consoles during his lifetime and he had a 75% success rate (only the Wii U failed miserably) while at Nintendo and before he basically was a huge help in HAL.
+ew275x He is saying that the wii led to today's issues. I agree with him. Last gen was the worst gen ever due to their focus on motion controls. I got to watch Zelda become a game focused on a gimmick that barely worked. Even now My brother who is a Zelda NUT has been scarred by its mediocrity and has sworn off the NX until nintendo proves themselves worthy of their own games from 2000 like Majora's mask. Also, Xenoblade X on Wii U was why I bought the damn thing. Now that its out and isn't even 50% as good as Xenoblade wii (with all the same issues MGSV had), that was the one saving grace to the wii gen. I'm in the same boat now and do not want anything to do with the NX. Nintendo wasted my time with the wii U after wasting my time with the Wii.
George, please do more of these opinion pieces where you calmly reflect on a subje- no wait that is what your entire channel is all about and why I love your work. Here's hoping to a 2016 of awesome videos from you!
super good recap of 2015. And i really like your approach of this video. You dont have to force yourself to go in front of the camera but sometimes it can really help making us (the audience) concsious again on who you are and making it a more personal video. :D And in general this year was insane in terms of videogame stuff. And 2016 is promising already in terms of all the different things like VR, Nintendo changes and games in general. And its always nice to see Indie games hitting the market hard and make these big surprises. That makes us believe again in the gaming industry. Good video ^^
Ah, sweet MattVisual was doing the camera work for this video. Lovely to see pals hanging out together, cheers for the camera Matt. And cheers for the videos and content in 2015 George (AKA The 'Hop'). Looking forward to the stuff in 2016, here's to hoping we get some pleasant surprises. But since I'm a cynic, I won't get my hopes up too much.
So I grabbed Witcher 3 recently after seeing literally everyone I'm subscribed to include it in their Top 10 of 2015 and I just can't get into it. I got as far as the griffin fight before getting torn to shreds repeatedly due to how bad I am at combat systems that heavily rely on defensive measures. Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad game, just not one that I'm seeing as GOTY worthy. I just quit and went back to Just Cause 3, which isn't GOTY worthy either in my eyes, but full of dumb fun that I love.
+Ryanmiller70 It's ok, buddy maybe play it on the lowest difficulty to get the story at least. A damn shame if something like that happens with a game this good, but everybody has his own preference.
You haven't even finished the tutorial yet...you can't possibly pass judgement on it yet. All you can say is it's too hard for you, and in that case, play it on easy. No shame in doing that
You can't think of a weak spot in The Witcher 3? Come on man, The Wild Hunt itself turned out to be a nothing villain. Completely disposable and served to simply move the plot along. The actual climax felt like it rushed through everything so that you wouldn't question it. Like what the fuck was going on at the very end with the mysterious tower and such. I had much more fun looking for Ciri than I did after I found her.
+TheSaylesMan Maybe you should play the first one again to see more what they wanted to accomplish with the 3rds plot? I've to admit i played every one of them and see the things they accomplished in 3 far more in comparison to 1, even if the first one came out back in 2007.
+El Mooo There is a whole album of remixes made by various artists available on UA-cam. It's called Determination, just look for it, it's good (even though I prefer the original tracks).
As good as 2015 was...I just didn't feel it. Nothing last year really interested me. I wasn't interested by most of the great games last year and spent most of my time playing older games. The games I did play disappointed me *cough MGS V *cough. 2014 completely killed all possibility of me EVER getting excited for a videogame again. I suppose 2014 ruined 2015 for me...
That sucks, I am a hopeless optimist myself so even after 2014 I hyped the crap out of bloodborne, the witcher 3 batman arkham knight, metal gear solid and Star Wars battlefront. Metal gear solids half a story, battlefront not having enough content and batman bad PC launch were disappointing but I still got my $60 out of all the games I bought and a lot of fun so for me it was a great year. I hope 2016 goes better for you.
+James Tobias I feel your pain. MGSV and Arkham knight were very disappointing and Xenoblade X was even worse. Xenoblade X was very much not a xeno title in that the story is missing in the same way MGSV has its story missing. I never completed witcher 3, I lost interestsince I wanted to replay the first, but I am completing Tales of zestiria now. I feel 2016 will be much better for me, the general audience won't be happy with the lineup, But I will. There are currently 20+ Jrpgs coming out across the year across the PS4 alone....... with more to come. 2016 will be the year of the JRPG, Thank god!
+James Tobias As someone who owns only PC, I didnt get my chunk of yearly dark souls content and Witcher 3 as well as Batman failed to live up to combat complexity I enjoy in Souls games. And that what really made 2015 insignificant for me, together with dumbed down Fallout 4 and lack of interest in Metal Gear Solid 5 altogether( I simply never picked up the series, playing last title 1st made little sense). Bloodborne would probably brighten up the view, but it is not 400 Euro good. I think the biggest loser for me personally was Witcher 3, as appealing graphically it was, the combat was simply not up to speed with more of the niche side of market. And that was a big deal breaker.
Xenoblade Chronicles X is my game of the year. 2015 was pretty disappointing to me, alot of these games that he mentions like Metal Gear and Mad Max and Witcher 3 have mechanics that look boring whenever I see gameplay.
+Mystline18 Thats what i see when i look at mad max, mordor and some bits off metal gear. Predictable repetition that ubisoft is so fond of copy and pasting to fill the main portion of their games. Witcher 3 has that to a minimum however. It has fantastic quality quests, for an open world game no less, practicly no timewasting tower climbing equivelant shenanigans. And thats not accounting for gorgeous art direction. Also i probably wouldve mentioned Alien:Isolation as one of the better titles this year aswell in there somewhere.
+Hans Peter sorry but that doesn't mean shit lol, XCX isnt a sequel, is its own game. Is by far the most ambitious game on the WiiU. Has good graphics (obviously compared to the console sheer power). Has an interesting main quest. Has a more than good combat system. Has tons of quest that are more than simple fetch. Has one of biggest world map so far. I can only complain on the pacing of the story, that doesnt live up to the story itself. I'm 100+ h into it, still not gettin' tired, still have plenty to do.
MetalMike87 i have to give your first paragraph right back to you. I just made a statement from what i hared of the game until now other then that. I don't give a shit about the wiiU, but i see you do, so have fun with it.
2016 looks even better to me with R&C (+ movie), Doom, Dishonored 2, Horizon, quite a handful of indie games I'm looking forward to, and countless potential others that I'll probably just settle renting or waiting for a discount on because of all that's happening. Then there's still some good stuff from this year I need to play, like Fallout 4, undertale, and the expansion pack for Witcher 3 (have it, just haven't played it yet). Still 2015 was a fantastic year. I also agree with your choice on Witcher 3, that's my GOTY as well. Its the first time I felt like an open world concept was truly fully realized without cutting corners. Its a true world of adventure, unique missions and stories, and they can connect in some amazing and unexpected ways across a vast world. On top of that, the premise of just playing and feeling like a niche fantasy role such as monster hunter is pretty awesome. Nothing repeated to the point where I felt like I was filling off some dumb checklist, or another predictable mission. It was a true sense of open world adventure with a mature story, humor, surprises, and intrigue at every corner.
MGS V was (for me) a big disappointment. Since the first presentation, back when the series had its 25th birthday, I was soooooo looking forward to this. I played all MGS games in the summer before MGS V came out. It was also the game I bought from my first paycheck. And this is what Kojima delivered us? Goddamn! The Gameplay may be top notch (even though it gets repetetive after a while), but the story sucks really hard in comparison to the other games IMO. I mean let's be honest. MGS games have always been a bit cringy and weird in terms of story. But they all had a story that was sucking me in and at least tried to tell me things, like leaving my footprint on this planet by achieving things or passing on my genes or some shit. What did MGS V wanna tell me? Don't trust silent white Kids LMAO
Hynox Xitio if you want everyone to agree with you only than 1. You are terible person with huge ego problems. 2. why even post something on post something?
+Mr.Knister Yes that is what Kojima delivered us under the schedule he had. Remember that Konami was the one that forced him to release the game sooner than what he wanted too. Which is why the second part of the game feels rushed and unfinished. Don't be amazed if they sell what is suppose to be in the game as DLC a-la Azura's Wrath.
Jesus Christ Am I the only person left who still prefers gameplay over everything else? I just can't get into The Witcher 3, even though I'm Polish. I loved the books, but controls and combat fucking suck. It's almost unplayable and I dropped the game after 10 hours. Still an awesome year.
+Hawkmoon IV I'm the same way, don't worry :) I got so caught up with the gameplay and the many different tactics in MGSV that I stopped giving a damn about the story or the epilogue being a trainwreck
+Hawkmoon IV Unplayable for you, you mean. I really loved the combat especially with the mastercrafted feline armor and the right build. I was untouchable, so much dodging and stabbing.
I don't like the riposte mechanic and staggering is too strong. Light attacks are jumpy and weird, heavy attacks are too slow and unnecessarily delayed. AI has invisible walls and even on death march you can just level up the light attacks tree and spam everything to death. Whirlwind is a joke.
i agree with that first part but man are you wrong about those other two. i enjoyed me so PP but its nowhere even near perfect. gameplays real good (for the most part) but its not even close to a masterpiece. i'd give it a solid 8 (whereas almost everyother MGS main title would be 9 or up). LiS is also not even close to masterpiece. its a neat game and all but nothing amazing in any sense. im actually curious about LiS, ive been seeing a loooot of vocal love for it, a lot more than the games its based on ever got from the general public (like walking dead season 1) and im genuinely interested in learning why people like it so much even though it has very obvious flaws and nothing new or fresh enough to really set it apart.
George, before you were just my favorite talking voice on youtube. Now that I have extra footage of you setting up a chair it's becoming something more.
Same porch as last year, same chair, same clothes, same faces made while negotiating the chair... but no water bottle this time; what a disappointment!
Speaking as a total Bethesda fanboy who adored Fallout 4 and couldn't stand the previous two Witcher games... the Witcher 3 is STILL not only my game of the year, but possibly the best RPG I've ever played in my life. Not even my admitted bias could stand up against its greatness. It's a well-deserved winner.
This has probably been my favorite year for video games ever. The Witcher 3 was such an absolute joy for me to play and one of the examples of amazing DLC with Hearts of Stone. Though I didn't really play many of the big AAA titles, Witcher 3, Sunless Sea, Undertale, Arkham Knight (a game which I luckily had no trouble with and got it with my new graphics cards so I didn't even buy it), Hotline Miami 2, Bloodborne (enjoyed it almost as much as The Witcher 3), The Book of Unwritten Tales 2, Tormentum: Dark Sorrow, and The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth all really gave me happiness this year during a time where I've had a lot of emotional distress for several weeks after moving to college.
2 Things: 1. I like that he starts these videos by going on his porch with a chair and talking. It creates a tranquil vibe. 2. Its amazing watching George's hair thin over the years. (Mine is going too, at practically the same rate. I'm with you George)
2016 is off to a smashing start with XCOM 2. And we will finally be seeing that match of Warhammer and Total War a lot of people have wanted since Dark Omen. I think 2016 will do alright
Yeah, definitely in agreement here. 2015 had a lot of really great games across the board, both AAA and indie. My personal GotY was Undertale though. It's been a long time since a game's story really captured my imagination for weeks on end like that, and it also handles morality and narrative consequences much more elegantly than most RPGs.
I like these live segments with George, unlike most UA-camrs he doesn't overact like he just did a kilo of cocaine.
+Plebeian+ I normally don't write youtube comments, but I must say, that I completely agree with you! George seems like the only youtube game reviewer, that treats his viewers maturely and musn't act like a complete clown to keep their attention.

i'm looking at you tmartn, ali-a etc
+Mitabrin I think Total Biscuit dont overact too, but I have to agree with you, I can only think of him and George acting maturely on camera.
+Mitabrin Totalbiscuit springs to mind. Although he also gets pretty ... loud when he strongly likes or dislikes something.
George's shtick is more "kilo of horse tranquilizers" than cocain.
I don't feel comfortable around all this optimism.
This year has certainly been bittersweet with the rise of corrupted journalism, to video game devs acknowledging their unfinished products. It's certainly been the most memorable year I've had since 2011, and I look forward to see what will happen this year

+Tasty Bread Implying Origin is even 1% as relevant as Steam..
+Tasty Bread Origin doesn't have anywhere near the same scope or impact, and from what I can tell only a select few 1st party games are eligible for refunds there. Steam refunding works on the entire store catalog, no questions asked. So, no they're not really comparable.
+Tasty Bread Good luck actually "getting" them
Tropic Moon
The point was that Origin has been doing refunds for years. And yes most refundable titles are only first party EA titles.
George looks cuter in this video who agrees
+lb8068 He is looking mighty sexy I must say

+Malazan27 Because it didn't live up to it's spiritual predecessor even remotely.
+Malazan27 Nor did Xenoblade Chronicles X. But that goes to show how good a year it has been. I hope 2016 will be as good as the last one.
Our relationship is artificial? Bunnyhop, you're breaking my heart
Again, Xenoblade flies under the radar of another reviewer. I honestly can't get enough of that game, but no one is talking about it.
I feel ya. Very, very few open world games can keep my intrest, but I can't put Xenoblade down. It's one of the most utterly fantastic games I've played in a long time.
He doesn't own it yet so he kinda can't make it his game of the year or give too much of an opinion on it
+Travey Duck I was about to post the same. It feels like most indepentent reviewers were afraid or too busy to tackle such a large game. I'm 160 hours in and almost 40% of the game left to go.
+Travey Duck It's a WiiU game. It's a semi-niche game from a semi-niche genre that's part of a niche game series on a console that nobody owns.
- Silence - Bayonetta 2 is a niche game but made it on alot of top 10 2014 lists from reviewers.

Wot. Best ubisoft game in recent years is Rayman Legends!
Great recap, made my noodles taste all the better.
Ubisoft is only the publisher
Lol no. Rayman Origins is waaaayyy greater than Legends.
+luca13knt
Lol no.
+MagicAccent lol yes, origins has an actual hub world, doesn't have murphy sections, more levels, less filler and it has a higher and smoother difficulty curve.
*Origins* had a lot more to it, *Legends* had cute princesses and Music levels.
Close, but no cigar.
Currently playing RE4, MGS3, San Andreas and DMC3
2004-2005 4 LYFE
All excellent choices
+Nathan Eskin 2004 was the best year period
MrSlashStudios I would argue 2001 by a little bit, if only because of Metroid Prime and Silent Hill 2.
My favorite youtubers using Undertale music is so rad.
2016 has Dark Souls 3 and Dragon's Dogma PC, so that's a win for me.
+Lavos YT A game without the devs, and a re-release. Don't get me wrong, I love Dragon's Dogma, but re-releases shouldn't set your bar for a year being good.
+Lavos YT me too man i missed out on DD because i can't use ps3controllers and i haven't found a souls game i didn't put 200+ hours into :)
it's gonna git gud
***** A game without the devs?
...Okay...
Nah I was just saying that cause I know these are games I know I'm gonna spend a ton of time playing, it's of course subjective.
+ignorant B-Team material, it ain't.
"Life is Strange is cleverly written."
Haha. Oh George, never above putting in a cute joke.
;^)
+Pepsi Man You just hella don't get it. Go screw your selfie.
+Reutzer Pepsiman gets everything. He is Pepsiman.
Seems like everyone who dislikes LiS for whatever reason is still salty about the ending which wasn't that bad to be honest :D
2016 looks even better George

+Gary Heckland And DOOM 4.
+Gary Heckland Yeah, Cuphead! How did I forget that one!
+Gary Heckland What about GGXrd Revelator and Odin Sphere?

Why is that the name of the Castlevania pachinko machine?

As a huge fan of year-in-review videos, I always looks towards your summary of the year in games. Great vid as usual! Keep it up!
There is no better feeling in my life than seeing that George has posted another video. Long live the bunny.
Oh god... thank you so much for introducing me to "Determination". Those mixes are amazing...
The year voice actors got respect.
Troy Baker:If you want to become a voice actor, the process is quite simple.Step 1,buy a decent microphone.Step 2,save all your money.Step 3,wait for Nolan North and i to die.
Well, probably they got too much respect.
+Wilson Fisk #Daredevil The real secret is to be cheap and a friend to some anime vo directors. That's how all 25-ish English vos got their start.
Just out of curiosity what games did Troy Baker do last year? I love him as a voice actor but idk if he was in anything.
+joesatmoes He voiced Revolver Ocelot in MGSV
+joesatmoes Well he voiced the arkaham knight in BAK,Nathan Drakes brother in U4 and lots of extra voices in extra triple A games.
Wilson Fisk #Daredevil Well, U4 is technically a 2016 game...
But I actully didn't know he was in BAK. I guess i need to get me dat.
It's been a treat to follow this channel for another year.
I have positive expecatations for 2016. Dark Souls 3, FF15, The Last Guardian, Unravel, Mighty No.9, and many more.
And no assassins creed : )
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided!
+nonikita THE LAST GUARDIAN?! :O I thought they cancelled it!
Awesome!
+MagicAccent Yup. Sony E3 2015, aka The Conference Where Dreams Became Reality
+nonikita no hype for FIFA 17!!!!!!
I remember how down you were in your 2014 review. So glad to see you happy and enjoying gaming now. Here's to a great 2016!
A video about the years you mentioned (1998, 2004...) sounds like it would be really cool
This is the best "list" or "2015 review" ive seen about any media. Seriously awesome job, you can see u put a ton of hard work and its much appreciated. Its also written fantasticaly. And I would realy like to see u review just cause 3
another great video! I have to try finishing the witcher 3 again..
Good list George. There's something truly special about the Witcher 3 in how you care about the story, the npcs and how it immerses you in the world. CD Project Red, take a bow.
I shall miss 2015.. the Year Konami went insane to entertain us all, Godspeed 2015!
Favorite summary video of 2015! Great work!
Game of the year: Bloodborne. Hands down.
But that's just your opinion. And mine.
I'm with you guys. Nothing else even comes close to matching its grossly incandescent majesty.
Yup, still playing it 9 months later
+NeonCrusader Clever
+Julin Terry
Same here. ...Well, tied with Undertale.
I LOVE THIS CHANNEL! So far since I knew it, every video was and I know will be entertaining and informative.
Next time on Super Bunnyhop Z: 2016 Defeated
Damn it George...
+TheDeuXEffect Same problem here, but they did a good job addressing it in the expansion (the Man of Glass was way more interesting than Eredin and was given more on-screen time)
I just hated the combat and how the gameplay feels
I actually laughed out loud at that opening. You make some excellent content George, by far my favorite youtuber. It's really great to see some positivity.
So few people are even mentioning Xenoblade Chronicles X. That game is a masterpiece!
+yosup7400 That's one game I would love to get a Wii U for if I had the money to spare for it, it does look pretty damn great.
DarkStarAngelo It's absolutely worth it. It's one of the best JRPGs I have ever played.
+yosup7400 It's suffering from ''Wii-U exclusive'' syndrome. Monster Hunter 4 was another excellent game of the year candidate for me, and it too suffers from not being on PS4/Xbone/PC/Anything else than 3DS.
NeonCrusader Yeah...
George you look like you uh.. put on a little bit of weight there buddy, you doing alright over there?
+DragonVictor He's looking for that boogie2988 audience.
+DragonVictor Dude we're just past december what do you expect
+DragonVictor with so many good games this year, can you blame him?
+DragonVictor Christmas and New Year's dinner will do that to you
+DragonVictor The holidays make everyone fat.
i never forgot your face. always quality content, great presenter and writer. i saw the playstation channels "reviews" last night, and granted they are for a young audience , seeing the sales man reading a scrip to the left off camera while putting energy into his voice, was unpleasently grating. a face you could punch until his glasses fused with skull.
George has a nice Pat haircut.
George has way more hair than Pat.
are we talking about their heads?
are we talking about their heads?
are we talking about their heads?
+Strider119119 He seems to be losing his hair if anything :(
Ah, I'm always happy to watch your videos man, your opinions are great and your videos are great too.
Man 2016 has been such a letdown after last year. 2017 is looking good though, a lot of which is because some of the best stuff that was supposed to come out this year was pushed back to next.
Man Undertale has officially become the official gaming discussions video soundtrack.
Man that was really melodramatic.
Aya ya I think that was more of a problem with the marketing, but I agree it sucks being sucked into a game pre-release.
+Fresh Tendrils Kudos for leaving the "indignant fanboys" camp.
Fresh Tendrils Yes but Marketing should lead you to believe what to expect from the game overwise it's going to bite you for later instalments.
For the relatively small amount of talk about Undertale in this video that I bet most of us expected to see, the fact that it seems the only music on this video was almost entirely Undertale remixes is quite the testament to your enjoyment and appreciation of it.
Thanks for taking our artificial relationship seriously, George.
You're good at doing this. Keep doing that thing that you do. You know the one with the video games, that one.
Even if you personally hate the console (it is my least favorite Nintendo console after the Wii U), facts are:
-It wasn't sold at a loss, so more money in the long run.
Here's hoping to a 2016 of awesome videos from you!
that was... faithful 0:34
super good recap of 2015. And i really like your approach of this video. You dont have to force yourself to go in front of the camera but sometimes it can really help making us (the audience) concsious again on who you are and making it a more personal video. :D
And in general this year was insane in terms of videogame stuff. And 2016 is promising already in terms of all the different things like VR, Nintendo changes and games in general. And its always nice to see Indie games hitting the market hard and make these big surprises. That makes us believe again in the gaming industry. Good video ^^
2015 was a year of high expectations and average deliveries.
+mahius19 The notorious H.O.P is still the best name george has ever gotten imo. :)
Holy sweet jebus where did you find those Undertale Remixes George?!
+El Mooo There is a whole album of remixes made by various artists available on UA-cam. It's called Determination, just look for it, it's good (even though I prefer the original tracks).
MrTrollaid
I know!, Mr. Weidman was good enough to put a link in the description.
+El Mooo soundcloud is FILLED with undertale music, remixes and mashups
It's on Bandcamp also.
love how these vids start out and i hate taking those damn chairs out the bag! happy new year bunnyhop :)
I hope 2016 goes better for you.
you sound like you should look for something else than gaming. no need to continue to stick around
2016 will be the year of the JRPG, Thank god!
okay
Great video. Can't wait for 2016 reviews
Also i probably wouldve mentioned Alien:Isolation as one of the better titles this year aswell in there somewhere.
i've been waiting all year for this!
Nobody talkin'bout Xenoblade Chronicles X makes me just SAD :(
+MetalMike87 Even fans of the last one seem not that much impressed with it, that should you get thinking.
MetalMike87
i have to give your first paragraph right back to you. I just made a statement from what i hared of the game until now other then that. I don't give a shit about the wiiU, but i see you do, so have fun with it.
+Hans Peter I don't give a shit bout WiiU, PS4, X1 or PC. I give a shit bout good games.
MetalMike87
I would be the same, but i'm no millionaire, so i can just stick to the platform i own.
The story was fine.
+Hynox Xitio it was garbage
robert nomok "Quit liking that thing I don't like!"
Hynox Xitio
if you want everyone to agree with you only than 1.
Don't be amazed if they sell what is suppose to be in the game as DLC a-la Azura's Wrath.
d'aww look at this fuckin guy having determination as backing music
If that's any value, I think you should appear less often. Some people want content, not personality channel
I wasnt expecting you to be so cheerful about 2015, but I guess you are right, it was a good year...
Jesus Christ
Am I the only person left who still prefers gameplay over everything else? I just can't get into The Witcher 3, even though I'm Polish. I loved the books, but controls and combat fucking suck. It's almost unplayable and I dropped the game after 10 hours.
Still an awesome year.
+Hawkmoon IV I'm the same way, don't worry :) I got so caught up with the gameplay and the many different tactics in MGSV that I stopped giving a damn about the story or the epilogue being a trainwreck
+Hawkmoon IV Your standards must be astronomically high if you'd describe The Witcher 3 as "almost unplayable."
I like the combat, it's very rhythmical you see. you have to /feel/ it.
I have yet to play mgs 5 though :
+Hawkmoon IV Unplayable for you, you mean. I really loved the combat especially with the mastercrafted feline armor and the right build. I was untouchable, so much dodging and stabbing.
I don't like the riposte mechanic and staggering is too strong. Light attacks are jumpy and weird, heavy attacks are too slow and unnecessarily delayed. AI has invisible walls and even on death march you can just level up the light attacks tree and spam everything to death.
Whirlwind is a joke.
Very much appreciating the use of Ace Water's half of Undertale's Determination album in this video.
2015 was the best year for gaming thus far. Witcher 3, Life is Strange and Metal gear phantom pain were near 10/10's.
i agree with that first part but man are you wrong about those other two. i enjoyed me so PP but its nowhere even near perfect. gameplays real good (for the most part) but its not even close to a masterpiece. i'd give it a solid 8 (whereas almost everyother MGS main title would be 9 or up).
Your commentaries are awesome Mr Bunny!
George, before you were just my favorite talking voice on youtube.
Now that I have extra footage of you setting up a chair it's becoming something more.
2015: The year where every week you went "Okay. NOW this year cannot surprise me anymore" right up to the last week of December.
Awesome rundown. It has been a pretty good year :)
This year was a great example of how hardship breeds greatness
I CANT EMPHASIZE BLOODBORNE'S DOMINANT GOTY QUALITY ENOUGH.
thank you for the undertale music
I always look forward to your videos!
You Sir are my favorite UA-camr when it comes to games. Greetings from germany! :)
Same porch as last year, same chair, same clothes, same faces made while negotiating the chair... but no water bottle this time; what a disappointment!
2015 is truly the new 2007.
NEVER GONNA GIVE YOU UP
Speaking as a total Bethesda fanboy who adored Fallout 4 and couldn't stand the previous two Witcher games... the Witcher 3 is STILL not only my game of the year, but possibly the best RPG I've ever played in my life.
I'm so glad SBhop likes Rainbow Six: Siege. It's my favorite FPS of 2015 and is one of the most fun multiplayer games I've played in years.
2 Things:
1. I like that he starts these videos by going on his porch with a chair and talking. It creates a tranquil vibe.
2. Its amazing watching George's hair thin over the years. (Mine is going too, at practically the same rate. I'm with you George)
Thanks for the video, have a nice year!
I like how an ad for a new Tony Hawk game played 1 minute before this video ended. It found its footing.
Rip MGS.
2016 is off to a smashing start with XCOM 2.
And we will finally be seeing that match of Warhammer and Total War a lot of people have wanted since Dark Omen. I think 2016 will do alright
I have no idea what he'll say about 2016. It probably won't stack up to 2015 but it had some fun games.
Yeah, definitely in agreement here. 2015 had a lot of really great games across the board, both AAA and indie.
My personal GotY was Undertale though. It's been a long time since a game's story really captured my imagination for weeks on end like that, and it also handles morality and narrative consequences much more elegantly than most RPGs.
its 2:10 AM and you've got a new subscriber, Super Bunnyhop
Considering 2014 was the worst year in living memory, I'm blown away how well 2015 turned out.
Can't wait for your Half-Life 3 review in April
I've been waiting for this one George.
