Well, ya. He chose three barely-beyond mediocre games as his top games of 2016. One was an online-only waste of time, one was the first two weeks of a mobile game, and the other was a game from last year. His highlights for VR games were 30 minute, barely-worth-the-money-paid experiences, most of which he received for free (to my knowledge), and his highlights for political events were two events he has barely any knowledge of. Out of the three things he talked about, he put the thing he has the least credibility on first, and the thing his channel is based on middling to last. What do you reasonably expect someone's going to talk about?

Believe it or not, it's actually okay to disagree with somebody's political opinion and still appreciate them and their videos. If you were a long time fan of George's and disliked/unsubscribed/stopped watching because of a single comment in an 18 minute video, you should really stop and think about how much you've bought into these people's campaigns. I don't mean that you should support Hillary instead; I'm neutral on this whole affair, I don't really give a shit who you support. But if you're so blindly loyal to these people that you're willing to completely separate yourself from a person just because of a single statement that only constitutes 2.78% of the video... then just take a moment to step back, breath in and out, and ask yourself: "why do I care so much? Why am I so invested? Is it really worth it to act this way because somebody disagreed with my political beliefs?"

It's not really fair to call him uninformed since he didn't go into any detail into what he actually thinks or why. It was at best like 2 -3 seconds of pretty obviously snarky comments. Also, it's not an apolitical channel at all.

Nothing to do with disagreeing. People are rightfully annoying that this cancer of a topic was included into a video about an industry that has always been trying to get away from that shit. One of the best things about games is that you don't care who the other players vote for, or what they think about some stupid political matter. You just play games and try to have fun. Including this disgusting shit into a video about games, regardless of what opinion was expressed, is a disservice to the entire industry. For as long as I remember people try to keep politics out of games and usually get triggered if a game has too much of a political angle. Rightfully so, I think.

He didn't use it as a soapbox, though. In fact, he didn't say Hillary would have made a better president or Britain shouldn't have left the EU. He literally just mentioned things that happened with a slightly disapproving tone of voice and people are treating it like some kind of betrayal of trust. Are the 4 sentences he says about Trump and Brexit in a 17 and a half minute video really enough to ruin your experience with the rest of the video? Maybe you need to be a little less sensitive.

Everyone is getting into a tizzy over George talking about politics for a little under half a minute in a nearly 18 minute video and this apparently earns this video almost a quarter of dislikes? Boy are people a lot more sensitive in 2017 than they were in 2014 where he called two major invasions "weird" and brought up North Korea's hacking of Sony and no one batted an eye, sure those statements were shorter and less opinionated but what can you say, 2016 was a very controversial year in politics, if you don't want to hear someone bringing their perspective of things onto their own youtube channel then

The reason is because George gained an audience by making smart, well thought out and written videos that rise above the drek that is your typical video game focused channel. Having his video about 2016 start with what is the antithesis to the entire reason why people subscribed to him in the first place by taking a stance that is either intellectually dishonest or anti-intellectual depending on hos educated he is on the subject matter is going to ruffle some feathers. In fact I'm now worried because this type of thing has often been an early sign in a decline in quality for channels. It doesn't always happen, but if it does this video would be an example of the cracks starting to form.
To put it simply it's bad no matter which way you cut it.
I can agree on one point, this channel gained its audience by making smart, well thought out and written videos and his political comments are a bit of a departure from what makes this channel good but for someone to see that short period of the video, and essentially say "the entire video's tainted for a short rant on current political events that takes up a very minuscule portion of the video" says to me at least that people are a lot less tolerant of not being in their echo chambers that if they're unexpectedly brought out of it it's jarring to the point of having a large enough negative reaction to it that it prompts them to dislike the rest of the video.

It was arguably at least in part about free trade (though perhaps not in the way George thinks), and he didn't lie about Trump's statements. People can quibble over the meaning of "tax evasion," but the sexual stuff is accurate.

Mark I've been saying the same thing forever. But peoples criticisms with Georges comment about "Brexit" was kinda justified, I just wish George never mentioned it.

Not really because what he said is essentially true, people in the UK got mislead by the Brexit organizers and they lied about what would likely happen if they left the EU. There was a massive backlash due to all of this.
Furthermore a lot of people seem to think that when they leave the EU, then the UK gets to keep special privileges they have had with trade etc. No that will not realistically happen, reality is that the people of the UK voted for leaving free trade, a pretty large amount of the people who did so did not understand or realize what the results would be. As for the Brexit general, he pretty much went " LOL not my problem " and essentially fucked off, this again caused a pretty massive backlash from his own supporters.
There are people actually working to drag the people in the Brexit campaign into court on the large amount of points they flat out lied to the public on, and this might actually happen because a massive amount of money is actually gonna be lost here, and money is one of the things you generally do not mess with in politics, because that is generally what will get people dragged to court. People will lose their jobs, smaller businesses are going to suffer a large chop in their revenue, and these are just the things that will show up quickly, the long term effects are not going to be as positive as a lot of people actually think......

I'm constantly suprised by how many people fail to understand the basic concept of criticism, especially since Super Bunnyhop is a channel about critiquing games. I'll be very clear. I am not telling George what to do. I do not have authority over George. As a fan of his work, I am telling George what kind of content I enjoy or do not enjoy seeing in his videos. I am simply letting George know that I would enjoy future videos more if they did not contain political content. It is completely up to George to decide whether or not his audience wants political content. If George sees that some of his viewers do not want political content, but decides to include it anyway, there is nothing I can do about that. I simply want George to be aware that some people like me would rather not have political content included in future videos. Hopefully this will help some people understand why expressing criticism is a reasonable thing to do.

You know there's a massive difference between what you think George said, and what he actually said. No one cares if he didn't like the man, but we do care that he lied and practically went out of his way to show he doesn't bother with getting a basic understanding of politics.
He could have said that the US elected a reality show host, or one of countless other statements that are true, but instead he chose not to do so and instead parroted a fake news line that one couldn't even pretend could be anything reflecting reality without going into complete intellectual dishonest territory.
He can say what he wants, hell he can even be an asshole, but he doesn't have to lie. It reflects poorly on him, especially since honesty is the reason he's such an acclaimed award winning reviewer. Honesty and accuracy was what his channel was literally built on, and seeing him abandon both for a quick jab at someone he doesn't like is the type of thing no one here (literally no one at all) is here to see.

Oh man. Pokemon Go still exists in Philippines (though slowly dying), but the community isn't as fun, nerdy competitive. I'm still playing Halo 5 almost every day and I'm still impressed with how good the game feels. It came out in 2015, so I kind of feel like it got to the party early in regards to 1) Making movement feel good and 2) Providing content to the whole playerbase via an alternative revenue model that doesn't split said playerbase through the use of map packs.

Kyriolexical Dino I've been slowly working my way through the campaign on Legendary since last week. The Warden fights are definitely repetitive and the story isn't that great, but it still has quite a lot of the things that I like about Halo's campaigns, such as its vehicle segments and large-scale fights. Traveling down to the ground from the top of one of the huge Guardians was pretty great as well. I'm really hoping they can step up the quality of the writing for 6.

They are not saying "take political messages out of the narratives of video games." No one is complaining that there is an anti-jingoistic message in Metal Gear Solid 3. They are saying "stop forcing your poorly-researched and poorly-understood personal politics in my face." SuperBunnyhop is a video game channel, and it's certainly fine for him to have political opinions, and even to express them. Obviously. It's a free world. But when you simplify Brexit to the statement of "Britain doesn't want free trade any more", and when you say that Donald Trump justifies sexual assault, you're going to irritate people. These statements are both incorrect, and show a callous inflexibility in George, as well as an inability to research or understand any beliefs that differ from his own. For him to think it was acceptable to put these statements in his video, he had to either A) think that very few people could disagree with or take offense to them, or B) know that he was going to piss a lot of people off with his assessment and still keep it in, either out of a callous crudity or a belief that this one-off political statement NEEDED to be heard.
If you know you're going to piss people off, then don't whine when they get pissed off. If you think that you can just make such incendiary comments without any consequences, then this kind of thing should be a wake-up call. I sincerely doubt people want constant conservative rhetoric shoved in their faces from video game creators either.
