New 2024 Toyota Tacomas ARE NOT SELLING… Here’s Why!

  • Why aren’t new 2024 Toyota Tacomas not selling? You mean to tell me, people aren’t interested in spending over $50K for a 4 cylinder midsize pickup truck? You mean to tell me people aren’t buying into overpriced pickups made in Mexico? And you mean to tell me, people aren’t buying into Toyota’s new woke-culture BS? Hmm fascinating.
We saw it first with the new 2022-2024 Tundra, people haven’t wanted it. It’s overpriced, offers a complex smaller displacement motor and comes with a slew of issues. Toyota is no longer the king of reliable. Sorry fam. People are voting with their wallets… and they’re saying NO to this 2.4L 4 banger Tacoma. Hard pass.
    Did I miss anything?
Thanks for watching as always. Please consider Liking and Subscribing for more videos of me shooting you straight. I won’t fanboy or simp for the brand. I woke you all that!

Sorry I misspoke a little toward the end… I’m thinking the new 6th Gen 4Runner TRD Pro will be $68-70K… since the new Tacoma TRD Pro will be over $65K. The 4Runner is generally just a little more… crazy.

Got my first FJ-40 in 1977, drove 2 of them from 1977-97, just got a GX470 and will keep it until it dies. Have no desire for an American Toyota just because of the quality, Tokyo still makes the best.
And it's not just Toyota, look at what a Jeep costs, absolute garbage for $50-75K+ (actual worth $20-30k). My '05 TJ breaks factory welds frequently, while the Jeep fan boys worship their great American scrap iron.

My 3rd generation Tacoma got totaled this month in a car accident driving to work, total loss. It had a 6 cylinder engine, 6 ft bed, double cab, off-road trim and I got it for $37k out the door in 2020. The Off-Road trim costs alot more now in the 4th generation and it has a 1 ft shorter bed and 4 cylinder engine instead of 6 cylinder like my old 3rd generation.

I like to overland and the main concern with the new Tacomas is reliability. How will the turbos hold up when I ford through deep water? How will it heat affect the turbos when you're going only 5 to 10 mph?
Besides the reliability, part of NAFTA agreement is that products made outside the US should be less expensive because of huge tax breaks, no unions, no employee benefits, no OSHA etc. Manufacturers seems to have forgotten that part. However US consumerism has emboldened them to priced their products as if they were made in the US.

Auto makers have jacked up the prices on trucks by 35-40% in the last 4-5 years. The trd off-road force max is over $65,000. Absolutely INSANE for a Mexican-built truck.

Greed? Toyota and its dealers are allowed to ask whatever price they want for their product. It’s their property. In turn, you as a consumer are free to not spend your money with them. They aren’t forcing you to buy their vehicles, nor do they owe you one for whatever price you want. Supply and demand. 5th-grade economics.

Hey Untamed, I just test drove a 2024 Tacoma trd off road today and other than the new 8 speed gearbox, I wasn’t impressed. The initial throttle response (low range) was impressive but when I floored the throttle to get on the freeway, I wasn’t impressed compared to the 3rd gen V6 powerband. Noticed the cheapness of the interior with more cheap plastic than the previous gen Tacoma. The hood I could see vibrate on the rear of the hood closest to the windshield on the drivers side and again, the truck literally felt like a four cylinder that was out of juice when I got on it at freeway speeds. I know advocates like TRDJon, robmotive, and the TFE crew (among others) rant and rave about how infinitely superior it is to the “old gen” 3rd gen Tacoma but I’m not feeling or agreeing with their enthusiasm about this new platform. I guess I’m not drinking the same Toyota Kool-aid as they are, nor am I politically obligated to the Toyota higher ups as well. Love my 2022 3rd gen TRD PRO Tacoma and maybe I’d change my tune if they dropped the price(s) to a realistic MSRP but I know I’d be drinking the Toyota “Kool-aid” ad well. 😳
