Growing up playing ball in the East Bay, I played on a lot of janky fields over the years. Every time I went to an A's game, the first thing that always popped into my head would be, "wouldn't it be amazing to play in a field as nice as this?" The stadium wasn't the best, but no matter what, Clay Wood and his team make that playing surface look outstanding. Amazing interview.
You sir are a modern day artist. Thank you for keeping that field so damn beautiful all these years! We really appreciate it & looking back on all the memories people will always marvel at that gorgeous field of dreams 💚🐘⚾🥁
Great interview. You know you have arrived when you can make a 40+ minute interview interesting with no awkward pauses. Going to miss both these men. They are both at the top of what they do.
What an interesting interview. Thank you Brodie and thank you Clay for your years of dedicated service at the Coliseum! Good luck in whatever and wherever you both end up.
Thank you for this interview. The field always took my breath away when I saw it for the first game of the season. They always show the coliseum field when showing highlights of other teams and it made me a little proud. Was so happy that one of the grounds crew gave us some dirt before the last game. It’ll go in a shadow box with mementos from the last game.
Always a gentleman - when he came to Oakland to replace Mark Razum we threw a surprise going away party for Mark at Tommy T's in San Ramon. Clay and I loaded my van with rakes, bases, shovels (groundskeeping stuff) and decorated the club with all of it. Clay has always been so accommodating, humble and gracious. Last game he brought Reba out in the cart to parking lot B to greet fans - truly a wonderful guy. Please keep the stories going with the family at the coliseum - Mikey T. (Visiting Clubhouse Mgr) would be a good one too
Best groundskeeper in MLB. So sad the A's will never play on grass at home again. John Fisher must really hate baseball. His selfishness and greed are disgusting.
Nothing but gratitude from us Oakland fans for all the wonderful people who kept that place going and the field absolutely immaculate. Respect big time
Thank you Clay. My sons and I started to go to A’s games in 1985. I thought the stadium was a bit run down, but the field was magnificent! The stadium declined over the years, but the field was the best in baseball. Great interview as always, Brodie.
Great interview with two professionals. Thank you, Clay, for sharing your experience and insights. Congratulations to you and your team at the Coliseum. Best wishes.
Awesome video Brodie ! Clay promised me a bag of dirt and sure enough, on the final day,he and his wife brought it to my post ...great memopries ! You ought to do a video with Dave Rinetti and Paul LeVeau...they put so very much of themselves into our Oakland Athletics !
to be honest this isn't much of a "gotcha" focused podcast. at least for now. I think we all truly know the way this has gone down, and how poorly things have been presented. I'd rather take the time with quality individuals like Clay to showcase who they are, what they did, and give them the appreciation they deserve.
That was beautiful We sold our chemical lawn care business after 20 years and have a chance to take over a little league complex. Six fields all by ourselves, and I can truly tell you the love you have to want to do this every day. The opportunity to give back to most of the kids that will never play college or pro baseball is priceless. What a wonderful interview and thank you for letting us listen to this
Three MAJOR things we’ve been under appreciated in MLB: 1. The Baseball Field 2. The Photography (how many have player images in MLB The Show have been taken at the Coliseum?🤔) 3. Our Fanbase (No particular order)

Excellent choice for the first guest, great job Brodie
Hey clay I’m sorry to hear about your job but every time I turned in to watch the A’s game on television and the field looked really great
What a cool interview. Thanks, Brodie! 💚💛
Can't wait! I know it's not your style brodie but I hope you both hold nothing back on anything that happened behind the scenes.

What a wonderful interview and thank you for letting us listen to this
I was there against marlins on rain delay and I must say it was amazing to see that game follow through and how you prepared it
You’re the goat Brodie! Fantastic first episode had me interested the whole pod.
Can you imagine if the current ownership had the same dedication as the ground crew has had over the years? We would be in the postseason right now.
Lets Goooo Cant wait guys!
Great interview, Brodie. 👏🏼
Clay needs to write a book!
Are there any moving field trays for baseball like football?

Clay's voice sounds a bit like Jeff Spicoli.
i heard redwood canyon golf course has an opening
So many good people losing their jobs over one man's selfish greed.
Hey Clay Brodie let me get some dirt please
