I have a few in my shooting circle along with some direct thread cans. The are constantly running sales. My cousin has a 223 an 9mm SME. HE also has a 30cal can and a 9mm can. I have several myself. They are budget cans. They are not the quietest but,hearing safe. If you can't afford a $245 can,hearing safe,full auto rated,no barrel restrictions you can't beat these cans. OSHA says 140db is hearing safe but, that is one shot with time inbetween. Efile is 5 going on 6 months wait time jump In before its back up to the normal 1 year waiting period. I have a can out that is in its 13th month. Witt Machine is a legit company.
I’ve got one for a 10/22 takedown. With the shroud on it’s pretty quiet behind the rifle but the grouping went to poop. With just the brake on it tightened the groups significantly. Don’t know why or how. Haven’t tried it on a 556 yet but I have cans for those. Taking a hard look at the 45 for a PCC.
Good question, after taking them to an indoor then an outdoor range, I think they are affective in helping you stay on target but not much more. They aren’t silencers. They only mimic them in form. Sound reduction is not noticeable at least to me.the also don’t work on gas blowback pistols after the first shot

Comparison; I once had some eye protection/safety glasses issued to me on a large construction site that were clear plastic but had a slight mirror coating. They took the edge off bright sunlight without really darkening it much. I believe Witt’s claim of 3 dB sound reduction at the shooter’s ear. There is also a bit of recoil reduction even with the shroud. Not much, but a little. I am now waiting for a suppressor, but I wouldn’t even consider firing any of my rifles without the SME installed.

I can't find any information on how long the brake itself is. Do you think it's possible to pin and weld it on a 14.5 to bring it up to 16?
