@@crowdemon_archives think by "thick" he just means straight out the bottle without added thinner. Till the airbrushing of course.

@@WayneNova It is impossible! I said he makes it "look" easy, not that he makes it easy. It's actually very difficult to have this control on brushes and colors.

You truly make filtering with an airbrush look like it's the easiest thing in the world. It's by far my favorite method you use for your pieces. It truly brings the entire work together. Absolutely stunning job.

I don’t watch painting of any kind much. When I seen the figure and thumbnail I said let me give it a couple minutes. I watched the whole thing, lol! What incredible skill and knowledge. My mouth was on the ground by the end! Wow! It’s a Master Piece! All the details, for lighting, shading, texture like the blood on the blade! Ridiculous! I am subbing right now! With other good model painters I've seen, as good as they are, I can always tell that they are painted models.
I just love the fact that with yours, even knowing it's a painted model, can take a screenshot and looking at it my brain thinks it's a painting painting.

Do you think you would be able to teach someone like me how to do this? Or at least the basics of how to get started? This is just incredible. My mother use to paint small ceramics when I was a kid and I'd watch her do it all the time. But this is incredible.

For some reason i wasn't exactly expecting something so painterly when i started the video. However i assume that it is far too easy to forget the scale of the piece while watching this video, and although a different way that the perhaps typical idea of just general washes... this seemed to have a very good idea from the start the exact imposed lighting and environment that it was going for. I am not sure if there is a very expected coloring or handling for some of these characters ever, but for some reason early on i was surprised by how saturated/alive the skin choices you made were. As for some reason i was expecting a more drown out color scheme, but i cant say why i would have been expecting something more zombie like.
regardless, very well done and refreshing if nothing else making a more painterly style work so well.

Awesome as always! But what is the goal with the zenithal highlight? Is it only to visualize the light direction? It gets completely covered after the first layer.
It is a way to make a sketch of the volumes in a super fast way, it helps me to understand many things in the thumbnail, I explain it in my tutorials on patreon in depth.

The result and all the process is gorgeous to watch, thanks ! I was a little disapointed to see the result only on black backscreen though. Do you think adding a clearer lighting would be benefic to watch as I belive ? I just propose.
Depends on the miniature. Sometimes a black background helps the colors to show up more clearly, especially if the thumbnail is already dark. I usually take pictures with both white and black backgrounds. Thank you very much for your comment.
