Before a horse race, if one horse is massively favoured ahead of the rest, the bookmakers will sometimes create a "betting without" market where they completely ignore that horse and take bets as if it's not running. We basically need that with this guy.

Do you know what I love about your work? In this era of photorealism and incredibly smooth and precise blends, where imperfections are seen as abhorrent in a competitive painting space, you have cemented a painterly, almost impressionistic style of painting, that has bold and exciting brush strokes and textures, and you're blowing the competition away with it. It's a breath of fresh air.

Love the rusty orange tones contrasting with the green, because it also contrasts the artifical with the biological matter in the same way. It really gives the diorama a grounded feel because its so thematically consistent, both in color scheme and whats actually being depicted by the models. Its a great and simple starting idea to build upon and prevents the whole thing from becoming too complex. And because the base plan is so straighforward, you can really go all out on the details because they will pop a lot more, like the insane amout of different shades of the orange and green.

Your handling of hatching lines and textures just knocks these things way out of the park. Master at illustration. I know you know that. But you don’t get that way without being highly critical of your own work. It hopefully, kinda balances out all that criticism you process when you work on something like this. It all finally needs to get a shower of accolades. And I also wanted my turn to say, yeah! Master illustrator! Your technique is beyond all but a few of us on the planet!

Really enjoyed this video, thank you. Im sure I'll revisit it many times as a reference tool and to remind myself not to overpaint my minis.

This is the textbook of example of “trust the process”

Gratz on the win! As is often seen on your channel your detail on color, texture, and lighting is excellent, and on this one you really pushed the... environment, with all that dense foliage, mixed terrain, and other details that helped it feel more busy, and less like a mini on a pedastool as most do to an extent. Well, I'm no expert to comment on the specifics of this one in particular for what it did well, could have done better or such beyond that general point that stood out more in this one than your usuals, but in general, great job, keep it up!
