Kudos to all the teachers and profs who include this as part of the curriculum. Wish there were more people educated on the plight of endangered animals.
A very nice presentation. My interest in whooping cranes began in a Civics class in 1948 when we learned there were only 16 left alive, with the very real possibility that this species would soon become extinct. Hats off to Joe Duff and the other pioneers and participants in working so hard to save them.
I live in coastal Mississippi and, sans airplane, we do the same thing to protect the Mississippi Sandhill Crane. Their numbers are now up from a low point of 40ish to 140! Beautiful animals that I have been fortunate enough to see in the wild a handful of times. Really hope they, along with the Whooping Crane, make a full recovery, like Pelicans and Eagles did.
So fantastic. It's wonderful to see decades of effort to save this beautiful bird from extinction pay off by caring, hard working, dedicated and patient people.
I understand you were instrumental..in bringing them to Kissimmee, FL....not far, Lake Nona...Vet Hospital today, they were walking around the property and not afraid of humans...took several pics of 4 of them... beautiful!
As long as there is still life amongst them, there is still hope. Pray for those trying to help species survive. Nothing was sadder than a trip to Disney World fifty years ago, where a captive beach dwelling bird was the very last of its species yet remaining.
So...why do they separate them from the parents and do the silly puppets? Like I love whooping cranes, I think they’re beautiful. But I just wanna know.
I just wanted you to know, that while our kids are stuck at home and doing online school, this video was an assignment for my 3rd grader.
What I am in 9th and my teacher is using this for an assignment

Why would you not credit Bill Lishman by name? Come on guys. Credit where credit is due.
Their call sounds like a rusty swingset, to me. They sound like the sandhill cranes in Florida.
very good but solution to revieve them is bann on hunting them
My shotokan karate mentor worked there and was laid off due to govt/obama cutbacks about 5 yr ago. It broke his heart
