Loving this video, a young male made the country west of Springbank Alberta his summer home. It was an absolute thrill to see and photograph him, the memories are forever. Lucky Texas to have many Whooping Crane families!
Now! October, November is the best time to see them. You want to catch them in the fall, while they're feeding in the estuary. Too late in the year, it gets really cold and the sea breeze can be hard to take. Too late in early spring, ad they're on their way back to Canada. It's really something to hear them fly by overhead. My African geese (domesticated birds) always yell back at them and the Canada Geese this time of year.
