Whenever I hear that opening music, I'm in the car at night, driving out of Manchester city centre in 1978, with my dad, listening to Radio 4. Good days.
Thank you so much! All five books of the trilogy must be required reading/listening for everyone, especially now, with AI and Trump looming. As time goes on, Douglas Adams is looking more like a prophet than a fiction writer.
@@Sirfinchyyy children learn through play adults play through art ..I said that ...such a shame about Douglas,s writers block...we were left with greatness but it could have been so much more ....one of life's great losses. ..so sad
What are you bringing Trump into this for? Douglas Adams clearly wasn't a fan of bureaucracy and taxes, and neither is Trump so maybe they'd have gotten along. Some of us like him and it would also be nice to have areas, like this, be devoid of political talk so that we can all take a break from politics. Clearly, you never stop thinking about 45 so I would say you need a refuge more than anyone. While we're at it, AI is pretty nifty and has my full endorsement. I use it daily.
Thanks for uploading this and the first record! I own them both but my turntable crapped out so I can't listen to them right now, but them along you come! Thanks!
This and the other LPs are the best of all the recordings. I can recite the first album nearly word for word. The music awesome. Peter Jones does the best narration too.
Where? Is it this version or the original radio series version? (For reasons which I've never been able to understand, there are a lot of differences between the radio series and the record album, especially with the album for "The Restaurant At The End Of The Universe").
@@scottandrewbrass1931 it is on mine. It's the BBC version I have. I'll aquiess to your knowledge...but I'm sure it's the BBC version I have.....that's the best phase I think the BBC 4 version

The funniest saga ever! Thank you for sharing!

The effects on the albums are far superior to the original radio broadcasts.
This wonderful book is also available on my podcast "Torty Talks". I hope you enjoy it as much as this one !

This version of Hitch Hiker is now available on CD.
Is it? Do you know if it is sold on line?
A CD? Quaint. How am I supposed to use that?
Remember those ..
This is the album version, it is different to the original radio play. Radio versions have been available for a long time. This is the vinyl version.
