    Just starting my vintage air install on my 72 c10. Mounting the evap coil seems to be a bit of a struggle for me. Truck is looking great. Awesome vid!

    looks good. My Tundra was recently in the shop so I had to drive my 84 k20 6.2 diesel to work. Temp was 104-110 that week. not a fun drive. Definitely need AC

    I had multiple issues with using the factory switching levers. I ended up buying the controller one winter day when my defrost wouldn't cooperate. The electronic controller has presented zero issues and works perfectly

      Sorry to hear but glad you found a solution! We have fortunately not had any issues with the controller on this unit but if we do we will grab the electronic controller. Thanks for the tip!

    Did you have to drill new holes for the block plate on the firewall, or did it just screw in thru holes that were already there?

    Thanks for the video. Do you have an update to show routing your lines through the fender?

      We ended up using the firewall plate provided in the kit. We started to run out of time and wanted to get everything done as quickly as possible.

    What factory switch levers are those? Are they for trucks that came with AC?

    did you run the passenger vent hose over the evaporator?

    • @motortopiaondemand
      @motortopiaondemand  Рік тому

      Yes. I finished the install in a later video. Here's the link. You can see the hose plumbing around the 2 minuet mark. ua-cam.com/video/IfVgK_IRadE/v-deo.html

    How long did it take to install? What did you do pulley wise?

    • @motortopiaondemand

      I think you could do this install in one weekend. This truck got a Holley accessory drive system and I used the AC compressor that came with it.

    So when did GM start putting AC in their trucks??? I grew up in a 1990 chevy c1500 and that has AC

    • @motortopiaondemand
      @motortopiaondemand  2 роки тому +1

      AC came as an option in GM trucks as far back as the 50s! That's why companies like Vintage Air are so great. You can put a modern AC system in just about any vehicle with either their SureFit Kits or Builder Series.
