  • In the previous video you came along with me to drop of my Royal Enfield Scram 411 with the dealers in part exchange for a new bike. In this video you get to discover what Stan the Scrams replacement is and yes it's the fantastic Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450.
In this video I show you around the bike and take you along on my first ride on the Royal Enfield Guerrilla as I discover for myself what an awesome motorcycle it is. I can't wait to complete the running in of this incredible machine and get to unleash the true power of the bike. I hope you will accompany me on this maiden ride.
I state in the video that reviews are not really my thing and steer you to ‪@ianhughesroyalenfield‬ who has made some superb videos, including and really in depth test ride of the Guerrilla 450 and I highly recommend checking out Ian's video if you're interested in an in depth and highly informative review, including specifications.

This is what we like. Keeping it real. Too many motorcycle UA-camrs have let their egos run away with them and have started to think they are some sort of celebrity. Spolier alert their not and people are becoming a bit tired of it. Keep up the good work you are doing a good job 👍

Thanks for the mention Dave…..I can’t believe all you guys are buying the Guerrilla, and yours is in my favourite colour too. I really want one but not quite there yet regarding financing it 😢😂. Congratulations 🎉, you really are going to have some fun. Look forward to your future rides on it…. You definitely need to choose the right gear, for the right revs, or it will bog down. When I said in my ride review, it takes me back to the early 80’s, in how it feels, and how you have to ride it. A bit like a Yam RD250 two stroke in it’s mannerisms. You have to remove all thoughts of how you are accustomed to riding RE’s 😂. If you like a good architectural church, keep an eye out for my next video release 😉 Isn’t the car a Ford Zodiac or Zephyr ? Thanks again

Royal enfield is gaining a lot of traction in S korea and Japan. 350 cc bikes have been an absolute hit in both the countries. Hunter has been the favourite in korea and the meteor in Japan. In fact 30% of the RE owners in Japan are girls in the age group of 18-30 with pikachu yellow meteor being the most popular model. Maybe that is the reason for adding bright color options on this model.

First time I have come across your site, nice review. Hope this helps. I have a Himalayan 450, all the comments on the gearing and necessary changes for the revs etc. was exactly the same feel and thoughts I had. Once I got to 1200+ miles everything seemed to change with the engine, all the perceived ‘lumpiness’ went away. I now have 3000 on the clock and it gets better every mile I add. I am now whizzing around country routes with minimal gear changes, whereas before I seemed to be changing too early or too late, couldn’t find the balance. But as I say, fantastic now!

That Mk 1 Cortina was actually a Zephyr/Zodiac. Mk 1 Cortina production stopped in 1966.🤣🤣
Right, back to the bike, went out on my Guerrilla for the first time today and clocked up 70 odd miles. Agree with everything you say particularly about the gearing, 4th gear in particular, anything below 35mph and it didn't like a change up to fifth, I learnt the art of tap dancing today with that gear shift.
Check your tyre pressures if you haven't already done so. Some real strange handling characteristics with mine, nearly came a cropper on an island at Ludlow stopped and checked the pressure in the rear tyre, there was 47psi in the rear, should be 36psi, job for tomorrow when tyres are cold. I agree, its the most comfortable standard oem seat I have ever ridden on, can't fault it. Ive adjusted the rear suspension to what the book recommends for solo riding and the ride comfort is spot on. Great bike, chuffed with mine and look forward to your future vlogs.🙂👍

Congratulations on your new steed it looks like a nice little addition to your stable and the perfect replacement for Stan the Scram. The Guerrilla could be a good choice for my son when he goes up to his A2 but then there are so many A2 compliant bikes these days. Try not to let the engine labour during the run in period, it's not advisable. I know many reviewers like to see if a bike will hunt in higher gears at slow speed but I really don't get the point. Just because a bike will do it doesn't mean we should, that's what gears are there for. As for a name there can be only one Che Guevara the world's most famous iconic Guerrilla leader and revolutionary. I'm currently in the process of changing bikes, the ZZR and the Thunderbird Sport are going, making way for a BMW R1250R

P.s my only slight Gripe is perhaps another gallon re tank size. Riding my Himmy 411 another Gallon would be nice, but then noticed have never had the tank light on yet so prob have another 50 miles or so..

I went to QB Motorcycles yesterday. Very impressed with the variety of bikes and accessories. I went primarily to get a look at the Guerrilla in the flesh. I sat on one and it was a little taller than I’d like, not quite on tiptoes. One thing I really didn’t like was that offset dial. It looks like someone did a bad diy job. Would look so much better in the centre. Otherwise the looks are great.

They do carry a good range and their customer service is great. I’ve grown accustomed to offset dials now with both the Scram and my Hunter having offset dials. I’m just under 5’8” with 29” inside leg. I’m on the balls of my feet on the Guerrilla. Overall it is a great looking bike 😀 thanks for watching and leaving a comment, very much appreciated 😀👍🏻

Though they're twins I think (not sure as I haven't looked too closely lately and I've forgotten 😳). Oh and I'm so pleased too that you're not putting a top box on. I think the bike design fills in some of the Speed 400 flaws , chains on the correct side for instance. Though a larger tank and the offset speedo shows they have not got everything right though its multi use ability if it can sat nav is bob on.
Dont think the service intervals will be as long.
You eould have to try both and assess what the accessories provide to see which is closest to ideal.

    • @MerciaMoto
      @MerciaMoto  Місяць тому

Hello Anthony, thanks for watching and leaving a comment. 👍🏻 Following first service at 311 miles service interval is annual or 6000 mile intervals. I’m ok with the offset dash as both the Scram and my Hunter are offset so I’ve sort of gotten used to it now. Tank size could be an issue if considering using the bike for touring , but 90-100 mpg should compensate to some degree. I think it is going to be a very versatile and useable bike 😀👍🏻

@MerciaMoto imagine how good it could be with twin displays though with a snazzy sat nav or configurable?
For my commute 70 miles a day I would like a 230 range so I could get 3 days use between fills.
