    Dearest Jamie, I subscribed day one but haven’t had a chance to listen until now. I have been wanting to comment every 2 minutes man. I am laughing so hard and almost crying because you are so refreshing. Your voice is necessary. You voice what so many christians go through with so much honesty. I have been a Christian a long time and still deal with many of the things you are discussing!! Praying for you to stay the path. I related so well to when you said if I had known everyone died I may not have signed up and God is Kind and Good and he has gotten me to the place where trust is so much greater. Do I still struggle with many contrary confusing thoughts, yes!! Does God give me grace every day, yes!! God is with us daily and yes somedays I do say God what do you HATE me. I am better than that guy!!! I help the poor what the !!!!!! Thank you for this space

    Let it be known, I'm subscriber #7. The subscriber of completion and perfection. That doesn't mean there can't be more subscribers, but just know that I've brought completion and perfection to this endeavour. See you tonight!

    OMG yes!! The therapist advice!! Please don't let a therapist run your life... coming from a counseling major here 🙋‍♀️ Listen, you don't want me making your decisions. I'm in therapy my damn self.
    Also if your therapist is NOT in therapy of some kind, or being supervised by another licensed therapist, RUN. And kick the dust off your feet when you go. Same with pastors. If your pastor isn't seeing a counselor or if they don't have oversight or a mentor of some kind, go on git!

    Im agnostic but ive had to tell christians to pray greatfully. It changes your perspective a little. Ive been through a lot in this life maybe its how i got to this point. I dont wanna tell people how to pray. But it seems to work for me. I cant afford lemons either. Lolz.

    Don’t let Christians get you down that are pedantic and get easily upset over trivial matters like you reading about Buddhism. It’s not healthy to treat Christianity as a country club or a cult. Everyone has their own journey and I just hope that both of you grow as people, find happiness and bring that to others by doing what Jesus taught instead of applying groupthink because that’s what’s most comfortable for you. As someone that frequents an LGBT church I know all about the craziness that comes with the territory.

    Hi! I'm an ex-Lutheran with major church baggage and mama trauma. I'm an atheist-leaning skeptical agnostic nowadays. Not really agnostic in that I question whether or not the Christian god exists, but more so that I question if some kind of higher power which is far less influential and in control than the Christian god.
    Anyway, that's kinda beside the point. I've been out of the faith and church officially for 12 years this fall, and I've finally reached a point/healed enough that I can engage with Christian or Christian-related content again, and even appreciate the Christian perspective depending on what it is. I can't really see myself ever coming back to church or the faith, but I'm glad to be able to not get absolutely triggered by Christians and their content anymore. I appreciate y'all's perspective a lot, and I'm really looking forward to future podcast episodes. Glad to be on the email list, the Substack, and the free Patreon tier. Bring it on, lol!

    I like that approach too. I like to think about what God possibly saved me from when something shitty happens. Oop... Got a speeding ticket? I wonder if maybe, had that cop not stopped me, I would've been t-boned at the next intersection and broken my damn neck or something. Some wild shit like that. Idk 🤷‍♀️ It works for me.

      @melissamiller122 Місяць тому

      Oh but also, had I not been speeding, I wouldn't have gotten the ticket, so that's a crappy example. But you get the drift.
