@@UVIofficial Feature request: Shade has not a midi learn function. I would love for this feature to be present in Shade as in Rotary ect. I beg you to do it in the new version Shade. I really want to use Midi CC to control Shade parameters. This is trivial for you to do. :) I count on your understanding, it gives joy to us users. It can't be that Fabfilter Volcano 3 has something so important and Shade doesn't. Aftertouch to control frequency modulation is great!! Do it I beg you!!!!! :)
Bought it, inside there is Chandler, Louder Than Liftoff, Pultec, Maselec, Neve, Ssl, just to mension a few, Analog warmth and Digital clarity Oh my goodness infinite possibilities. Thank you UVI.
Feature Request: We need to be able to set the slope of the spectrum analyzer in Shade. Many of us electronic and pop producers prefer to see a 3.0 db/octave slope so that pink noise looks "flat across". Shade seems to using a hard-coded 4.5 db/octave slope.
@Louis Couka Thanks for the thoughtful response! (I'm definitely buying Shade regardless.) A 3.0 slope (pink noise looks "flat across" aka horizontal) is pretty standard among electronic and pop producers because those genres have a brighter overall spectral balance than modern rock/alternative/country/etc. (Which all tend to prefer a 4.5 slope these days.) If you just change it to 3.0 by default, you'll alienate the producers/engineers who prefer a 4.5 slope. Best approach is add at least 3.0, 4.5 and 6.0 to a config menu, or alternatively just let users enter exactly the slope value they want (like Voxengo and a few other plugin makers do).
@Louis Couka I see that! So many excellent enhancements in 1.10. THANK YOU. Shade has 100% replaced FabFilter Pro-Q3 in my workflow. Shade is now my standard EQ as well as my creative EQ. Y'all have nailed it!
I can see similarities to Bitwig modulators workflow here, and it would be an absolute dream to have that modulation workflow in Falcon. Please UVI, consider this :-)
@Louis Couka Hi Louis! Thanks for your reply :) I trust this finds you thriving and well. In the most simple terms, I am thinking of things like cytomic's/serum's L/B/H, L/N/H, L/P/H, and B/P/N filters, which allow one to "morph" between a Low-pass filter, a Band-pass, and a High-pass, for example. The same concepts (and basically the same filters) are utilized in Ableton's "auto filter" device. This is a crucial filter type in some specific areas of my sound design, and it actually surprised me to not see them in Shade, as they are so useful and compatible with the spirit of Shade. As a more complex request, I would love to be able to "morph" between any of the existing filter types/presets, though I am not sure how crazy the maths would be for something like that ;) I've personally never seen it done before, but it would absolutely be a dream come true! Anyway, short-term, I would be positively thrilled to see "simple" morphing filter types added to shade. If implemented, I believe you will have truly created the most powerful, usable, and aesthetically pleasing creative filtering/eq-ing device to date :)
For me one thing that is missing, is a Option for high resolution analyser. Right now when you have a sine wave in the sub frequencies it looks, like you have frequencies all over the place like from 20-80hz. Except that realy tempted to buy, since The Filter options are very nice.
When will plugins designers understand how important delay in the LFO is? Besides that, best thing since Pro Q3 . And many thanks for creating the tutorial with markers
Reminds me of Apulsoft Apqualizer, in terms of the modulation and effects stuff you can do, except maybe a bit more advanced. Although, I haven't seen the whole video, Apqualizer allows you tune the filters polyphonically and play them via midi, which so far this can't do. I love Apqulaizer and use it all the time, if this expands on that idea, I'll probably pick this up too.
1. - Would love to see EQ Match, where people can take a source import its EQ curve into Shade and then match its EQ with a production track and also save as many source EQ curves as users want. 2. - Tilt EQ would also be nice. 3. - There are other features I would like, but for now ill just post these two. :)
it is a great plugin and very light on CPU but the one thing that disappointed me is that the default low pass filter is not transparent as it boosts frequency around the filter. I tried other lowpass filter types too but none of them were transparent by default and some of them don't go beyond 24db slope. So please make the default low pass filter as clean as possible because right now it ruins the frequency balance.
Oh, a coiuple more things as Im playing with it. Like most (all?) EQs, this plug in doesnt have a dry/wet mix control. But with all the tempo synced effects, you might want to include one. Also, while you're doing so much awesome modulation, it'd be nice to have a volume control so the the modulators can do gating effects too. And lastly, itd be good to ship with more arpeggiator-like modulation shape presets. Look at Reason's Alligator for inspiration. This plug would be like that times a billion. Thanks very much. Traditionally Q means what you call "Q width" and what you call Q is traditionally called resonance. Not a big deal now that I know how to translate, but maybe consider that change? Also, it'd be amazing to have a library of different filter types - more than one 24db/octave model for example. Look at how Omnisphere does it? Your interface, and modulation routings are astounding - second to none. It'd be great if they controlled more filter models, even of the same type Thanks very much!
Great video explaining this plugin which I am about to buy. Forgive me for being pedantic but I think you might need to visit a guitar tech as your guitar's intonation requires a bit of work.

Very cool, but I think UVI missed a trick. I was hoping for tunable resonant filters like the Omnisphere effect "Quad Resonator". I've been looking for something like that for a long time
Comb filters we implemented are tunable filters, however you can't control the level of each harmonic independently. We would need to add another filter for that, but this could be interesting. Thanks for the idea :)
