  • In this video, I'll show you how I apply an epoxy coating to concrete outdoors. First the cracks will be filled, followed by two applications. The Epoxy is UV Friendly, and we'll add silica sand to the final coat to avoid trip and slip hazards.

I have a concrete roof to a basement which is partly ground level, which we park a car on outside.
It is at the moment covered with a rubberised paint.
After planing the surface would epoxy be waterproof and suitable to park on?

One thing about the non slip additive / silica sand.
It comes in various mesh sizes. The standard sand provided
is a bit 'fine' for Winter non slip in areas which get snow and ice.
I'd suggest a larger sharp silica sand or equivalent in those locations.
That's been our experience with epoxy on walks and floors outside.

I have a concrete slab over my garage and we believe that water is seeping through it into the garage since we constantly get water in there after rain/winter. If we sealed it with this epoxy would that make it weather proof and if so how much time can I expect to get out of it? Thanks for the video.

I have a carport that I'd like to put epoxy on. It's currently the weird little tiny rocks with a clear coat over them. Had that when we bought the house, but over time the tiny rocks became loose and came off, leaving an uneven surface in a few places. COuld I use the epoxy as a filler and a thick coat over the rocks without having to scrape or cut out all of the tiny rocks?

What is the clean up of the mixing rod, rollers and pans?

Pans I just use tray inserts and throw them away after. The roller I just wipe off with a towel or use acetone or gas to get the wet epoxy off. The mixing rod I just let harden and then next time I use a hammer and crack the epoxy off clean. Thanks for watching!

Why didn t you grind the whole area? Why didn t you open all cracks to improve adhesion?

I did use the floor machine on the entire area. The cracks and epoxy have held up just fine its been over 2 years already. If the cracks were much larger I would have opened them up for sure.

Please use safety glasses when using the grinder! I know that you are a professional, but never hurts to use best practices, particularly when DIY’er (like me) are looking at these videos. Thank you for posting this!
