This playing is so full of feelings, playing the right notes can be hard enough (and with these arrangements it is) but to play them so passionately and transmit so much emotion is legendary. Couple that with the fact it's all in one take, and this masterpiece of a video is the result. Also that transition from fade to Black to live is to die caught me off guard entirely. Man hopefully I can play like this man right here one day.
brother man you brought tears to my eyes.. introduced to them back in 84 while serving in the infantry proudly they immediately became my measure from which all others would be measured LOL... you did them and their music a solid 1,000,000 out of 10....beautifully done !!!!!!!!!!!! thank you for that !!!!
Hey thanks man and much respect to you for your service; I don’t know what that’s like. Check out my other Metallica medley too, the link is in the info :)
That guitar likely means a lot to him and he's taking good care of it. He's got a sleeve on that arm for the same reason he has a towel in between the guitar and his chest, to protect the guitar. Sweat and skin oils damage the finish over time which leads to damaged wood. Judging by this guy's talent, he's playing that guitar very often, so over time could mean just a few years or less before needing restoration.
The way this guy falls into to live is to die from fade to black is pure class absolutely amazing got back into guitar cause of guys like this and soren madson

Can't. My fingers can't press it without pain. My pinkie can't even press it. My cousin who i taught to play, is now playing guitar like a proper guitarist and i am just shit.
I have been a Metallica Fan all my life... I cannot play a stringed instrument, due to hand issues, but I have huge respect for those that can...and the older I get, the more I found a love for acoustic covers, realized that the "mixing" done in the studio leaves out a lot of details we miss...and the acoustic gives a different sound...much like a Tube Amp vs. a Solid State Amp. This is AWESOME! I could literally listen to the full songs acoustically all day, I know all the words anyway...LOL...Its easy listening while working...

Me too, where can I find the hour long sleep video, I need it, and I need it from this guitar guy lol
Karen Galván ua-cam.com/play/PL6A2EDE1F4B42F35F.html
The intro to Sanitarium is so beautiful, always brings out some emotions in me
Just had a shitty day. Put this on repeat and it really mended something in my soul. Thanks for this beuatiful mashup. You are amazing.
Acoustic any will do it pretty much but this is definitely soothing. That's exactly what I'm doing now. "Chilling" 😂
I swear every time i hear that part from "to live is to die" i immediately get goosebumps
brother man you brought tears to my eyes.. introduced to them back in 84 while serving in the infantry proudly they immediately became my measure from which all others would be measured LOL... you did them and their music a solid 1,000,000 out of 10....beautifully done !!!!!!!!!!!! thank you for that !!!!
Hey thanks man and much respect to you for your service; I don’t know what that’s like. Check out my other Metallica medley too, the link is in the info :)
B co 1/327th Inf... HOOAH!!!
whenever im having a hard time falling asleep I come back to this video, it helps me so much thank you
that transition from fade to black to To live is to die was priceless
u know mans is a real gangsta when he pull out the fake tattoo sleeve
Literally didn't notice until now. I can't unsee this anymore.
Classical guitarists wear sleeves like this. Sweat is bad for the guitar. The fact that it looks like a tatoo totally is gangsta though. 😉
it’s a guard my dude
@@doctordiv oooh i see. Thanks for telling me.
Dude does a great job on recomposition. Utilizing the highlights of Metallicas amazing ensemble of sound and attitude.
Beautiful. No Call of Ktulu
Dylan Engler what’s wrong with Call of Ktulu?
Green Teletubby that he didn’t play it
Dylan Engler it’s not a ballad, then again neither is To Live Is to Die
Omega Son "To Live Is To Die"
When a man lies he murders some part of the world
These are the pale deaths which men miscall their lives
All this I cannot bear to witness any longer
Cannot the kingdom of salvation take me home
100 trillion quintillion sextillion % a ballad
Master of puppets takes on a medieval feel when played on that guitar
sounds like you'd hear it in a tavern in Skyrim
Most of their songs have that same sound on acoustic. That mid evil / Bach sound
Ive always thought the same about To Live is TO Die.... sounds midieval.
A lot to do with playing close to the neck and the nylon string rolling as well as reciprocating.
And he's a great player.
Music doesn't come from instruments.
Cliff Burton was a huge Bach fan as well as many other artists so it does make sense
Its crazy how you see people from different age groups listening to one band, truly the greatest of all time
I was a classical guitar student played in a flamenco group in highschool. My parents were against metal music. I secretly practiced every ballad of Metallica at home and nobody noticed. When in college I played Metallica covers in a band, and all that practice paid off. 🤘
I'd add a couple more to this:
1) Unforgiven
2) The call of the ktulu
3) And justice for all
Great performance and thank you for taking me back 30 years. 🤘♥️
Its crazy how all this beautiful sounds come from someone and make you want to cry or they fill you with happiness its insane to me. I love what metallica has done and that people like this guy were able to pick it up and make it even more beautiful. Honestly one of my favorite videos I’ve seen and i just have to say thanks for making this and for letting people hear how beautiful music can be
Came here to remember the songs my ex used to play... Not that you've got me cryin, but you've got me cryin.
Dude, this is absolutely gorgeous. You sure can play Metallica!
Thanks! :)
wtf is this? This is too good. How do you not mess up at all with no jump cut edits? Crazy dude
Cuz jump cut edits are for pussies! Lol thanks for listening!
@@CharlesAlexanderAllred much skill. Very impress.
Extra yes
This gives me peace... I would like to play the guitar like you. I have not played guitar for a long time and now it is difficult for me to play it. But you inspired me and now i am going to play it again 💖
Thank you for your kind words, and I admire your appreciation for the guitar. Best of luck in your rediscovery!
I love it! I Used to play a couple of those on the classical guitar always loved the tone. I haven’t played for several years as my hands don’t work as they should any longer but I really miss it. Thanks for this
I get what u mean, i hadn't touched my guitar since i got married and had my 4 sons, then shit happens, cheated on, got divorced, went into depression, i took my old acoustic and tried to play. Can't. My fingers can't press it without pain. My pinkie can't even press it. My cousin who i taught to play, is now playing guitar like a proper guitarist and i am just shit.
Fade to Black....
just beatiful
I have been a Metallica Fan all my life... I cannot play a stringed instrument, due to hand issues, but I have huge respect for those that can...and the older I get, the more I found a love for acoustic covers, realized that the "mixing" done in the studio leaves out a lot of details we miss...and the acoustic gives a different sound...much like a Tube Amp vs. a Solid State Amp. This is AWESOME! I could literally listen to the full songs acoustically all day, I know all the words anyway...LOL...Its easy listening while working...
They do have some of the most iconic tasty riffs ever
This guy just basically threw together everyone of my favorite riffs from the band. So well done
While at home making a sculture YT autoplay started with these beatifull melodies; this backgorund music gave me the right dose of calm and patience for the job. I repeated it other three times. Great man!! thank you
Classical guitar in the hands of someone like you is the greatest sounding instrument imo. Great job.
That was perfect in every sense of the word. Incredible playing - acoustic truly brings out the beauty of these timeless Metallica classics.
There's nothing in this world that can touch my heart more than the melody of a simple guitar...
Beautiful. I was about to cry when I heard your version of "To Live Is To Die".
#ripcliff
These transitions into each song are absolutely beautiful. Especially going into one of my favorite solos of all time.
You are amazing!! Im always so impressed by your incredible talent, passion, and hard work. I'm so proud of you, and so proud to be your wife. I love you!! 💜🤘
Bout to steel your mans now
This comment made me feel lonely af
Bless you and your man.. wish I could play that well
Its so cute i hope u share all this fealings till you get older
Your version of Nothing Else Matters is better than the original. This made my day.
Thanks Kristof! Your comment made mine!
♥️ it really is..
It's really good, but better than the original??? in my opinion you are crazy, but...
12 year old me is excited about this. When i started learning guitar these are the riffs that I was crazy about. You put them all into one medley that sounds great! Now I need to finish what I started and learn this whole 12 minute medley lol
Ya! :)
Most UA-cam guys edit and cut but this guy can actually play!
Being both a classical and electric guitarist I couldn’t appreciate this much more 🤘❤️
Same here brother
My beloved deceased son connects with me through Metallica. This video came across my feed at a very meaningful time for me tonight. Thank you for the beauty of the music and the opportunity to feel my son close to me. He used to play acoustic Metallica in the basement at home many years ago and this brings me right back.❤
I’m honored. Prayers for you and your family.
@@CharlesAlexanderAllred ❤🙏💔
I swear, the beginning of One and Fade to Black always give me the chills!
Wow ... amazing ... shivers... tears in my eyes ....what a compositions ....this should be played on my funeral
Finally someone who knows how to play Nothing Else Matters
@Music Fan276 sounds the best so far... to me anyway
I can play it too but I always do a
mistake
a lot of us have been playing it since it came out. Metallica is one of the most fun bands to cover ever.
he didn't but he did a good job
Way too subtle for my liking. But I liked it anyway
Fade to black was too god man. Love it.
I only discovered Metallica a few years ago and as a grandfather I think this is superb. Especially Nothing else matters.
Fingerpicking on Nothing Else Matters was just too good
Mikael Åkerfeldt of Opeth on that Live Is to Die part: "If it wasn't for that melody, Opeth wouldn't have been born. Beautiful."
Where did He say that?
@@FabioZCandioto took me like two seconds to find it. Probably less time than it took you to comment. Do your own research. ua-cam.com/video/oKFBn-97_9k/v-deo.html
Thank you for reminding me why i started playing the classical guitar and fell in love with it. Dude im picking up my first cataluna and playing along and with you right away. My NOW turned fretless cataluna i got 15 years back still going strong!
“Metal is just screaming”
So some say
-my mom
Well these aren't metal riffs just because metallica plays them lmao.
@@wannabeserpento99 but there many clean riffs on Metal songs. And we have the power ballads from Metal/hard Rock bands...
Clean and acoustic are part of metal
Yeah, I've heard this argument so many times. But it's clearly from people that have never actually listened to metal. I know some is, but bands like Metallica and Iron maiden are actually very melodic. People just assume all metal is death metal. Stoooooopid :D
I love it ... however it also reminds me of some reacent life events ... the pain endured
But it also brings a comfort that this too will pass....thank you metalica and this gentleman played beautifully
I cant tell you how many times ive watched this. Great work homie, very very well done.
As a teenager, I used to play this part of 'to live is to die' over and over again until my mom/brother/roommate stepped in and asked, why are you crying
Most underrated Metallica song imo. Love it so much.
I used to do that, too.
I still do, but I used to too.
I want this playing at my send off, the best I've heard by far. genius total genius
I've grown up on Metallica whole life and never wanted to ruin their legacy with my guitar playing just put of respect for their beauty, I recently learned nothing else matters and I'm so glad I did
It led me to wanting to learn more fingerstyle songs.
You sir are a legend, you've earned my subscription and a like.
Please continue ,good job brother!
Well played, Sir! Thank you for adding "To live is to die". Amazing work!
