    It's weird when a true musician is interviewed they actually answer the questions intelligently and are more humbled about what they do(create music) instead of cocky, annoying and all about the monies... Everything he said was a natural answer to those questions instead of just saying whatever "cookie cutter" answer might make them look better or be a safe thing to say or something their manager told them to say. Good stuff! Wish John would tour with them one more time!

      In my opinion, the song Walls and Doors is his artistic peak (so far). I’m a gigantic metal head now, but I still remember just how unbelievably advanced that song is, as far as reaching a level of musical expression and song structure and just a general mastery and understanding of song writing. It’s not pretentious or meaningless or goofy. It’s just a straight up master level piece of artistic capability.
      On a side note though, ironically, in the song writing department Brent Hinds is just as talented I think (and much better at guitar). After listening to Cold Dark Place, I think Hinds and Frusciante should get together and jam sometime.

    • @cdforshee
      @cdforshee 10 років тому +9

      It's no accident that Josh fits in with the RHCP sound. Anthony and Flea are very conscientious about who they allow into their band when they are looking for a replacement. I hope this band lives forever.

    • @annedworak7855
      @annedworak7855 10 років тому +1

      cdforshee I was just wondering about the "keeping alive" part. There has been one album in 5 years since John left the band. And to be alive to me also means to grow, musically e.g.

    • @cdforshee
      @cdforshee 10 років тому +5

      I think they're working on an album right now. But keep in mind, Flea, Anthony, and Chad are in their 50s now and they have families and lives and stuff. I think they deserve to kick back and enjoy the fruits of their labors. Flea and Anthony have been doing this together for over 30 years. Take my word for it, age slows you down. You can see it in Anthony's stage style and the way he moves and dances. Compare live footage of him when he was 30 with footage of him now.

    When they started jamming at 09:05 I held my breath - I knew the music was going to get more and more interesting from that point onwards. And it did. These musicians are in a class of their own. They casually drift into Hey, then Snow and it’s mesmerising.

They’re super badass.

      @@loo524 He even said that, he had it engrained in his psyche to be immature, he associated image to much with music and when he returned for californication I think he'd definitely learned his lesson and that enabled him to come back even more creative than bssm. I think he was a dickhead in bssm, at times anyway, but when he came back and especially in the 2000s he became the man he is today, though he wouldn't like me saying this, the best guitarist ever.
